I'm in the spirits Industry and have been to hundreds of liquor stores, but this is the bottom of the line. My advice, go anywhere else but this place.

The have wine tasting on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. They also offer classes to learn about wine.

Store is really well kept and looks beautiful coming in, but obviously the focal point is the alcohol. The people there are always very helpful. On this visit, I was searching for a specific flavor of pretzels that Kiara told me about (the ones she gets on the plane), which are supposedly only sold at Total Wine. I saw other flavors in the store, but not the one I was looking for. The brand of the pretzels is Stellar and I was searching for the Maui Monk flavor. The website indicated that they had it in stock, so I asked a worker for help. Unfortunately, he was unhelpful and made me feel like I was bothering him, so I continued searching on my own. After some time looking on my own, I asked another employee, who was much more helpful. He took the time to check and explained that they were likely out of stock and that the online inventory isn't always accurate. He also mentioned how popular the pretzels are and that they sell out quickly--even he buys several when they come in. My husband was also looking for a small bottle of Cointreau, but they were out of that as well. I decided to try another flavor of the pretzels - Sweet and Sparky. These were good, had a spice to them with the buffalo flavoring. These bags are priced at $6.49. I'd like to eventually try the other flavors, including the one I was looking for. This visit was hit-or-miss in terms of customer service and item availability.

SoBro Spirits has got a lotta bourbon and whiskey, and in fact, I would say this is one of the better places to find bourbon in Indy. The wine section is fine but not the largest, although what they do have seems well curated and thoughtful. All around the store, you will see shopping baskets full of random bottles of discounted wine, beer and other alcohol. It was kind of fun to paw through the baskets and try to find a cheap treasure. Along with the Canadian whiskey, I walked away with a nice Rioja and a rose for a steep discount. This liquor store is located close to the Monon Trail, so it's easy to get to via bike or walking.

It's an easy, convenient walk from anywhere downtown or the Massachusetts Avenue (Mass Ave) corridor. Historical Tidbit: The building itself is a fascinating piece of Indianapolis history. It was built in 1894 to function as a more permanent home for the Indiana Dental College (IDC). For a couple of decades, this was the spot where the city's dentists trained before the school was acquired by Indiana University and moved to its current location several blocks west to the campus of IU Indianapolis. The structure was officially added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

So, if there is something in particular, you're looking for, and can't find it at a crown liquor location you're visiting just ask. Often the staff will be able to recommend another location and perhaps even be able to check with staff at that other location to see if the alternative store has what you're looking for.

I asked for help finding the club soda and they continuously pointed randomly around the room (and each time there was nothing there). Finally, they made the effort to help me and found that they only option they had was randomly placed on the top shelf (required a ladder). 3.) The cherry on top, you ask? Their mini club soda bottles were wrongly labeled and rang up at $1.50/mini bottle. Needless to say, I wasn't about to spend $9 on 6 mini bottles of club soda and they didn't seem to want to come up with a plan B way of selling it to me. Had the customer service been better, I would be more likely to give this place four stars for convenience (located along the Cultural Trail and close to home).
