Half the fun is getting there. Trust me. Excellent ambience. The people are fantastic. A great place to take a date. Drinks are awesome. Prices are manageable. Run out of gas and take someone cute. Trust me.

This is a great place to stop when you are in Crown King. The inside of this establishment is authentic to the extreme! It almost feels like you're stepping into the wild west back in the 1800s. They have a decent menu, not overly complicated but everything is good. The prices aren't too bad. They do accept credit cards. Service was friendly. I highly recommend taking a drive up to crown King one of these days and checking out this restaurant. It's a beautiful drive and you will not believe how beautiful Crown King is.

Renee & Casy, thank you so much for making our lunch experience so delightful. The hamburger was great, but the chili was even better in my opinion. I love your kindness, love the history and the decor. Your place was clean, fun and we can't wait to come back for the live music. BTW, your prices were affordable. I WOULD RECOMMEND!

The Western BBQ burger was amazing! The onion rings are super crispy and delicious. Yum.

Boy does this place get busy! It was my first time to Crown King and I was amazed at the amount of people up there playing for the day/weekend! Ordered drinks at the bar and found a great table despite all the crowds of off-roaders. **The bar and restaurant actually operate independently of each other. I had a fantastic dark beer that was on tap but can't remember what it was called. Pretty decent selection of beers on tap! We had fried pickles for an appetizer and they were delicious - so much better than most places. They actually cover the pickles in a good amount of batter before frying. My meal was a "works" burger which had pepper jack cheese, green chile, jalapenos and bacon. So good!!! My guy had a bacon cheeseburger which he loved. The burgers are BIG and we ended up taking some of our food back to our room at Cedar Roost. Fries were tasty but could hardly eat any since we got full fast. Service was friendly and the crowd was nice.

We didn't eat anything here but the food all looked like comfy food and looked delicious. When you walk in they have a little stage for live music with lots of old pictures and decor on the walls. There's a cute western bar top and in the back they have food. They have waitresses but you can also order at the counter. They had a lot of good looking American food! The bar has everything too, even had honey jack. Definitely a must stop in AZ!

Had a chance to visit the saloon today after Thanksgiving, and it was well worth the drive. While you can get there in 2 wheel drive, I would recommend something with higher clearance and four-wheel-drive. The saloon in town were bustling with jeeps and side-by-side everywhere. Inside the saloon, they had a nice wood-burning stove, keeping the place warm and served up some great burgers, fries, and cold beers. It was an adventure to get here, but again, well worth it. Can't wait to visit it again in the winter.

At the end of a long day on the trails this was a great stop. Service was quick and food great. Loaded grilled cheese hot all the spots. Really cool building with all the history.

The mere town of Crown King was a sight for sore eyes after taking the backroad from Lake Pleasant to the area on an off-roading adventure. It's unfortunate that not more of their historic buildings are still standing, which is why they treasure this saloon/hotel. The walls have so many stories and histories nailed to them. Not sure if service was slow because a small festival was wrapping up and it was busy, or if they indeed are slow. We weren't in a particular rush to eat and get back on the road, but seems like they took their sweet time to take care of our entire group. The food is atypical American bar/restaurant fare (sandwiches, burgers, salad, fried stuff, etc) with a full bar. They require a minimum $10 spend on booze if you use a card, otherwise turn 90 degrees to the left from the bar and use their on-site ATM. If you choose to stay in the hotel above, I've been warned there are some fun... spirits that like to play with guests. By supporting Crown King Saloon, you are not only supporting this sleepy town, but also any/all ghost towns in Arizona, and keeping to ensure the town's existence.

Inside on a Saturday night in November.

This place is awesome. Good drinks and great wings and everyone is super friendly. This place is off the beaten path by about 30 miles. So bring a truck or off road vehicle to get here. They had live music one of the night we went. Bartender was super cool and everyone was nice.

the patio area!! Love to see it in the snow!!

Great service and burgers here. Got a salad too and the greens were particularly good. Lots of old photos and things to check out inside.

. The Crown King Ale was actually good - not one of those random cheap beers in a small town with the town name slapped on it

We stopped on our way to check this spot out since we didn't know when we'd be in the area again. You won't find food at Cactus Taproom so if you're looking for a glass of whine, beer or a little of both this may be your spot. What caught my eye was they offer flights. I love flights because you get to try a little of quite a few to see what you like or don't. When we pulled into the lot I was surprised at how small it is. There is a bar of course, a handful of high top tables and a small patio. The place was packed. We somehow managed to snag the last available table. It was full of definite locals as many seemed familiar with each other. There was one man running the bar and though very busy he was friendly, patient and no one seemed to be having to wait long for drinks. The place was clean. I thought it was cool that they offered many fridges of different beers etc to purchase and take home or of course drink while there. If you read my reviews I love sour beers and this is part of why we came here. I tried both they had on tap and unfortunately wasn't a fan of either. We will have to come back and maybe try a few in the fridge section. I didn't want to try anything else and risk mixing wine etc. good local spot of just wanted to have a few drinks alone or with friends.
