I honestly have never felt more ripped off in my life!!! 15 dollars for 10 poorly fried mozzarella sticks and 10 dollars for 5 oddly shaped hot wings ????? The chicken was saturated in salt uncooked and so fatty that it seemed like it was over battered to disguise nasty fact that there was no meat on the bone .. are they serving re-cooked leftovers , or worse... food so beyond expirations they have to overly season and plump up with several layers of flour. And I really wish this was just a matter of the super inflation . The worst of all of this is in literally sick to my stomach trying g to digest what this establishment calls food . DISGUSTING . Delicious food, reasonable prices and good variety. Unfortunately, the Crown closer to my place didn't make it through covid. This one is a bit further. I have to order through delivery.com. That's not great because with delivery fee, service fee, etc, I pay $30 for $20 worth of food. But that is the nature of food delivery and not the fault of Crown. They have really tasty fried chicken. I LOVE the fried shrimp!!! Excellent Lamb over Rice. I get it all! I stock up and enjoy for the whole weekend. They've got lots of other stuff as well. This place isn't the most sanitary you can tell when you walk in. The entire time there was only 1 person working there making both food and cashier ingredients. Didn't seem like he washed his hands before making our food. The worst part he didn't even wear a mask only wore it on his chin the entire time, and I was there waiting like 20mins... so I doubt he actually wears his masks any other time. I microwave the sh*t out of my food when I got home. Food tastes good though and definitely is cheap gives a bang for the buck. Just moved to the area and have been checking out the local places so I know what's good in the neighborhood. This place was walking distance from my place so decided to check it out. Read some reviews from other people and decided to go with the chicken on rice going in. Got to the place and was very much surprised at such low prices for the food. The chicken and rice was only 5 dollars. I took it home and ate it about 20 minutes later and still tasted amazing. Definitely would be going back here again. Only knocks against their place is that the service isn't totally great or at least what I'm personally used to, and they added a lot of things to what I ordered that I didn't ask for nor was it posted on the food item on the menu. read more

There fried chicken was so good, unlike KFC or McDonald's, it's transitional American friend chicken with not so greasy compare to other names brands. Price was very friendly and their chicken gyro (they don't have lamb option anyway) was super great. Their pita was so soft and sauce and chicken were perfect match. Their pizza, not the best that I have in this area, but could try and worth the price too. Overall, their pricing is the best and very worth it. There is no parking available nearby, only street parking. Still suggest everyone to stop by and try. Give a A rating. read more

Delicious! dine on succulent southern fried chicken, mashed potatoes, buttermilk biscuits, all while watching the amazing carnage outside. It's crown fried. Typically I wouldn't go in here but I was absolutley starving and it was the closest thing with cheap shrimp on the menu. That's exactly what I got. 9pc jumbo shrimp with fries combo. I thought they were going to be little shrimp. Surprisingly they really were jumbo and I had to give my cousin three pieces and I actually threw away some fries. If you know me you KNOW I don't give away shrimp and damn sure never through anything away lol it was so much food though. I also got a drink. All came up to 8$. Not bad at all. Actually pretty good. The guy behind the counter was also very friendly. The food was made quickly and I didn't have to ask him for condiments. He already threw it in the bag (in a recession. I am that rich!) I've been going to this place for over 15 years and they have never disappointed me. From their pizzas, the chicken, even the fish they have managed to always everything to taste amazing. They also operate pretty quickly. Parking here can be tough.. but if you're ever in the neighborhood and need a spot to get pretty good food for a good price this is the place. read more

Discovered this gem back when I was at college and had to take LIRR every other day. My train arrived at 10 pm, and I was so hungry and couldn't wait to grab a piece of chicken before running to subway. And Crown Friend Chicken never disappoint me. Have tried their fried chicken, fries, chicken sandwich and ice cream. Fried chicken is a MUST HAVE. Very delicious, well seasoned, a little bit salty and spicy. Super affordable, only $1.5ish for a piece of thigh. Ice cream is good too. Others are mediocre. The staff are friendly and they give you foil bag to wrap the chicken. Heyo, 10 pieces of mostly dark meat chicken as I requested and 2 slices of pizza with a drink at $16 fits my budget. The pizza were surprisingly good. Idk if it was because I was hungry or I haven't had pizza in a while. The fried chicken skin is not as crispy as Popeyes but it passes. The flavor was better than average Chinese take out chicken wings. I would know LOL. I love dark meat so much omg. I know white meat is healthier but it's so dry like why so dry? Even though I had to wait 15 minutes for chicken, it was the best chicken I ever had in my life (especially when I just finished drinking a hour before). Fries tasted fresh and chicken was crunchy. I have been living in queens for about 4 years, and I just tried crown fried for the first time last week. I order the shrimp and fries combo. The shrimp was good, but the fries hurt the roof of my mouth (bad oil?). They give you a decent amount of shrimp and a lot of fries. My total, with a soda, was about 5 bucks. Wow, again there is no accounting for people's taste. I stopped in here once on my way home to grab a slice of pizza, I normally do not frequent these types of places, but really needed something in me. AWFUL, the worst pizza I have ever tasted and I have had bad. It might as well been cardboard with salty cheese on it. I'm not a huge fan of the Crown/Kennedy fried chicken chains across NYC but throughout the years I've learned that the quality of the ingredients, style, taste and the care in preparation does differ from one fried establishment to the next. Case in point: this particular Crown chicken is home to an amazing cheese pizza! The crust is on the thin side and baked crisp! The pizza is topped and I mean topped with fresh premium gooey mozzarella and a generous spread of tasty tangy (a little sweet) pizza sauce. It's almost always fresh out of the oven, but be sure to ask for it piping hot for the full effect. When you fold the pizza, you getting a little gathering of oil, I presume from the fresh mozzarella! The pizza across the street by comparison is doughy, not crisp, very light portion of rather bland sauce with underwhelming mozzarella both in a quality and freshness! For a real taste of the NYC Pizza you gotta come to this Crown location on 170 and hillside. read more

Fried chicken tastes okay, well, IMHO, not better than KFC or popeyes, but not bad

I rarely give places 5/5 and I've had some of the best food you can ask for in NYC. I've eaten pizza at Ray's Jo's and Lombardi's but this particular Crown restaurant has the BEST PIZZA IN NEW YORK CITY, hands down!. The other crown restaurants aren't that good but the 170 street one is absolutely delicious. It all comes down to the sauce; they have a secret recipe that's very tangy and sweet and I don't think I've tasted a sauce like that in any other pizza in NY. Also the Pizza dough they use is unique; it's soft and crunchy which makes you actually wanna eat the ends or dip in some kinda dipping sauce. The only thing is that they can be inconsistent at times depending on who's making the pizza. Sometimes the pizza is a bit too cheesy which masks the sauce and sometimes its too saucy- the key is to be there when they get it just perfect and believe me, it'll be the most addictive thing you'll ever eat. As for their other items; they aren't that bad either- the fried chicken is pretty cool but only if it came straight out of the fryer, if it's been there for a while, they microwave it- so be wary of that. They're lamb gyros are to die for though- and their buffalo wings and mozzarella sticks are amazing. The only thing that sucks is that they are a Halal place, so they do not offer pork products. But other than that, highly recommend Crown Chicken on 170 Street- especially if you're strapped for cash. Zagat needs to come here and rate this place's food, seriously.... read more
