Summer was amazing and got all my stiffness and knots out after my first visit! I prefer the Asian massage, as they are more deep tissue (though you can ask Summer to adjust the pressure), which gets to the source of the pain. The next day, my shoulders and back were so much more relaxed. I even went back for a second massage treatment 2 weeks later and my stiffness was already significantly reduced, so I knew Summer's technique was helpful in my body healing. I even got 拔罐 (cupping) the second time combined with massage. Not all Asian owned massage also offer cupping, but Summer does! Benefits of cupping are to release the toxins from your body. I already feel better mentally and physically, and Summer is now my go-to massage person. When I have friends or family members in town, I will take them to see Summer for relaxation. Unfortunately, my overall experience here was disappointing. When I called to schedule my Groupon appointment, I believe the gentleman who answered the phone was named Edwin. I found the interaction to be unnecessarily rude and uncomfortable. He expressed frustration about the amount the business receives from Groupon, but as a customer, that really isn't something I should have to deal with. I was simply calling to schedule a service I had purchased. The massage therapist herself was very nice and did a good job. The massage felt good, and I want to make that clear because my concerns are not directed toward her. However, I was surprised that there was no intake form and that I wasn't asked any questions about what type of massage I wanted, areas of concern, injuries, allergies, or sensitivities before the massage. As a client, especially when you're going to be undressed for a massage and products such as lotions or oils are being used, I feel those basic questions are important for comfort and safety. I also felt rushed when I arrived and didn't feel like much was explained to me as a first-time client. Personally, I want to feel comfortable, informed, and safe before getting on the table, and I didn't really get that experience here. There was also an issue with the length of my appointment. I had purchased a 90-minute massage through Groupon, but the massage initially ended after about 60 minutes. I had to ask why I had only received 60 minutes when I had paid for 90. They did end up providing the additional 30 minutes, which I appreciated, but I shouldn't have had to catch the mistake myself. Overall, while the massage therapist was kind and provided a good massage, the customer service, lack of intake process, rushed experience, and confusion regarding the appointment length left me dissatisfied.
