It borders to the north with E Tremont Avenue, to the east with Arthur Avenue, to the south with E 175th Street, and to the west with Third Avenue. On the north-west corner there's an ornate staircase that climbs to some grassy fields. In 1995 the park was renovated, and several additions were made: chess/checkers tables, a baseball/softball field, spray showers, racquetball courts, and some new trees. The place is peaceful... I was here last weekend and there was barely anybody around. You would think that those amenities would attract locals, but it's just not happening. You can tell that, despite its huge potential, this park has been neglected by the city. The staircase is heavily damaged, the grass is a couple of feet high in some places, and there's a feeling of partial abandonment strolling it's paths. It's a pity, because it could look awesome. The close vicinity of this park with commercial and touristic Arthur Avenue could play a vital role in resuscitating its usage. However, the Italian Arthur Avenue is several blocks north, and a few minutes walk from here.

This park is huge and has several parts . While we always go to the lower levels for playground/…read more basketball areas we decided to visit the upper level Ridgewood Reservoir area . It's an elevated area with views of Brooklyn and Queens . You came see the ait traffic towers at JFK and even The Rockaways from some points. To get up top there are staircases all around the park. If you enter on the side facing parking lot there is an accessible ramp that takes you to the top as well. Up top you can walk or bike ( shared pathway). Walk around to check out the views or hit the middle pathway for the reservoir views. Signage is good and there are lots of historical and informational checkpoints. We went sort of mid morning and it wasn't crowded. Other evening and weekends when we visited other parts of the park there's been a significant amount of people but not crowded. The parking lot however can get jam packed on weekends. Lots of park workers around cleaning and giving directions etc , It's a well kept park. The picnic areas are nice as well. One side of the Reservoir is very noise due to the Jackie Robinson highway running along that end , heavy traffic sounds. Other than that it was a peaceful walk and bird /nature sounds were quite audible. I nice place to get your steps in and enjoy views.

It's about 1.25 acres stretching 500 ft along the Horace Harding Expy and affords a great view of Long Island Expy rush hour traffic. Lol It's just about a 50/50 split of paved concrete walkways and green space with real trees, bushes, grass and plenty of park benches. I could count the number of trees on my fingers. There are no other facilities here except for 3 signs calling out the name & rules of the park, street lights and a few garbage cans. I have to credit the NYC Parks & Rec Dept for keeping this area really clean with no litter in sight and all lawns & bushes nicely manicured. The location certainly is convenient with plenty of shops and restaurants within 500 ft and Q17, Q30 & Q88 buses right on the corner. If you have a hankering for buffalo wings from Hooters, a Poke bowl from Pokeworks or a fresh baked pizza from Blaze, it's not the worst place to sit down to eat your lunch outside on a park bench. If movie theaters ever reopen, you can even meet up here with your friends for a movie at the AMC next door.

The East Meadow in the Summer -…read more Green grass, expansive lawns, beautiful trees, families playing with their kids, couples having picnics, friends chatting on benches lining the pathways, and sun worshipers enjoying life. It's a picture of serenity and peace. The East Meadow in the Winter - Barren, snow covered, empty, and dreary. No one around. Blah. I totally like the Summer here much better. Can't wait to bring my blanket along with some snacks here again to decompress on the weekends.

If you get to East Harlem near 96-97 Street and Fifth Avenue, enter the park. You'll see the sign for the Meadow. Enjoy the peace, quiet and beautiful views. Hug a Tree!

They are sparkly clean with a big reflection from the sun! It burned my eyes looking at them in the sun. One good thing about this park is the number of spider webs that you can climb onto besides the steps that you can go onto. This park also has clean sprinklers at the feet level and big sprinklers that come and go. Very clean and safe. Most important thing is the safety issue. I have a stroller with belongings and they were untouched the whole time I was in the park so that's a plus! Also this park is gated from the public and only families with toddlers and kids can go in. Very family oriented. Will definitely stop by more when I'm in this area.

The day I visited there were many Nannies with small children going in and out of the gate. It's a place I will not enter unless I'm with a friend that has small children. There's bucket and tire swings, an amphitheater spray feature, two granite slides set into a hill, a rustic net climber, and a sandbox and sand table. As I said I love this landscape with rustic structures and stone bridge. You need to visit and enjoy! By the way, no restroom!
