I have been coming to Imperial Garden for over 30 years, and it has maintained a high standard of…read morequality Chinese cuisine (with some American touches) and friendly service over the years. Portions are very generous, and we usually have enough leftovers for a complete meal the next day. It can get crowded during peak times, so I highly recommend a reservation. Two stand-by Chinese starters, Egg Rolls and Crab Rangoon, are a great way to begin any meal. The Egg Rolls are big, crispy and full of flavor. The Crab Rangoon are the best I have had anywhere. These won-won wonders are tender with a silky-smooth Cream Cheese and Crab filing. Imperial Garden does all the basic Chinese Chicken dishes to perfection. The Hunan Chicken, is slightly spicy and stir-fried with a few vegetables in a savory sauce. My grandkids love the Sesame Chicken). These bite-size chunks of Chicken are coated with a thick, sticky, slightly sweet sauce and liberally coated with Sesame Seeds. Two other favorites are General Tso's Chicken - double fried and sautéed with fresh green peppers in spicy sauce and Empress Chicken - marinated chicken, lightly fried and sautéed with broccoli, baby corn, straw mushroom & water chestnuts. Peking Style dishes are another winner. Whether it's Shrimp. Pork, Beef or Chicken; these tender morsels are coated in a tempura-like slurry, stir-fried to perfection and smothered in your favorite sauce. I like the Sweet & Sour Pork version. It comes with a bit of Carrot, Water Chestnut, Bell Pepper and Onion; and is served with either White Rice or Fried rice. Throw in a lightly-hopped ice-cold Tsingtau, sit back, and savor the moment.

My last visit and review was a five, but the food had a few issues this time. We had wonton soup…read moreand egg drop soup which were both very good. My partner had chicken lo mein and it was decent but little flavor. I had chicken fried rice which was inedible. The chicken bits looked like it was boiled and had were shiny chicken fat on it. It just looked wrong and tasted rubbery. I wasn't charged for this, which helped, but overall disappointed.

What a night. It totally came together in a fluke. We had planned on going to Greensboro and I…read moreremembered, wait, the ridge! We quickly got a reservation for our table of 7 and I was praying it was tasty. You walk in and the smell hits you like a load. It smells incredible! The weekend is a grilling event and they do prime rib, ribeye, salmon, chicken, etc. We had the ribeye, salmon, and prime rib and with that garlic butter.... Wow. Delicious absolutely delicious. The salad and potato bar are perfect. Make your own, exactly how you want it! No waste. I enjoyed a piece of the banana pudding cheesecake for dessert when I got home and needless to say, amazing. It's just a simple place. It reminds me of a childhood steakhouse. We will most definitely be there again this month!

Choices of the day (Friday night, 4/5) were Famous Pot Roast, Bacon Herb Baked Chicken, loaded Mac and cheese, bacon braised Brussels, Broccoli casserole, Sriracha sweet potatoes, and the usual salad accompaniments. They did not disappoint. The pot roast was as tender a flavorful as any I've had, with a few potatoes and carrots in a gravy. The chicken was also very tender (all dark meat, that I saw, and prefer) and juicy, with a nice blend of seasonings. I even tried the broccoli casserole, even though I don't care much for the vegetable, and it was pretty tasty! My girlfriend loved the Sriracha sweet potatoes, and went back for seconds. As I prefer sweet potatoes more on the savory side, I also enjoyed them. I wasn't brave enough for the Brussel sprouts, however. The regular salad side had options of Romaine, or a tender greens mix, with many of the usual toppings and six dressing choices. My lemonade was spot-on, and Barb's half-and-half tea was also tasty. They also have Pepsi products available. We will definitely be watching their Facebook page for future weekend selections, as the menu changes daily/weekly.
