Perhaps the best Indian food I've had in the US…read more An unassuming place, on a side street in downtown. Kind and gracious service, that felt more like having a good meal with friends. Laidback and comfortable, this family run eatery serves excellent food. We started with a traditional appetizer. Mixed Pakora was simply delicious. A wonderful mix of shredded veggies light battered and fried golden brown. A great start. We also tried the Onions Bhaji and it is so good, tumeric spice lightly breaded gram flour and flash fried. Just prefection in fried onions. Sweet, savory, crunchy and a little salty. For my entree I opted for their Malabar Curry with chicken and jasmine rice. Incredible spices, and an amazing rich creamy coconut flavor with curry and mustard seeds. A well prepared portion served traditionally, with rice on the side. We also ordered their buttered Naan and Aloo Prantha and both were exceptional. I ordered lemonade, which they did not have plain lemonade so they made me a traditional lemon drink with spices and it was quite good, refreshing with a sweet, sour, salty twist to it. What truly separates this establishment from the others, the service. This is a whole family run eatery, and they take great pride in giving their guests an exceptional dining experience. It was obvious to us that there was tremendous care and compassion with how they interact with all of their customers. 5 Stars - which I rarely give. Definitely worth the effort and support. An exceptional meal. 01262

For appetzera we have had the Fresh Shrimp Basil rolls and Nam Tok. The basil rolls are in rice paper versus fried. They are light and fresh, as is the Nam Tok. The lime in the Nam Tok was my favorite part of the dish I had some with and aome without spice. For dinner we have had the Shrimp and Bomb chicken on the board specials, spicy Basil wiith beef and Spicy Cashew Nut with chucken. The shrimp dish was light, flavorful and spicy. The Bomb Chicken to me was a spin on sweet and sour... only liggtly sweet and a good spicy. The spicy basil and spicy cashew are heartier disher and full of flavor. Our server reccommeded a 3 out of 4 and to add more if not spicy enough. Excellent recommendation. Great family run restaurant and we thoroughly enjoy the great dishes and very generous portions.
