My 'tween was DEMANDING chicken lo mein, and based on the prices at the closest Chinese take out place, and the "meh" quality of the next closest, we decided to try someplace else, so off to Butner we went. It was dark and rainy so we couldn't tell much about the outside of the restaurant. The interior is painted brick, wood paneling and appears somewhat run down, like the landlord doesn't want to put any money into their property to help the appearance of the business, and in turn, help the business be successful. We were greeted by a polite and smiling young lady who patiently waited for us to decide on our orders. Very pleasant service! Out of everything in our order, there were still a couple issues: My particular meal was supposed to be shrimp, chicken and pork, however, what I received was shrimp, chicken and beef. I had asked for my meal to be extra spicy, but it was not spicy at all Otherwise, everything else was as expected. The steamed dumplings were terrific. The crab rangoons were as expected and my 'tween wolfed down her lo mein. We actually received white rice with our combo order as opposed to fried rice. Yes we asked for white rice. Our experiences with the other local places has been they just put the fried rice in the combo meals regardless of what we ask for, so this is a refreshing change in that we actually get what we asked for when it comes to rice choices. read more

For a small town Chinese restaurant, it's the best we've found in NC for the price and location. We love their lomein, general tso's, orange chicken, and steamed dumplings. Probably the best thing is the steamed dumplings - they are huge and taste super homemade. The filling is excellent! My stepdaughter also loves their wonton soup. read more

Food is very good. I especially love the wok-seared vegetables in most of their dishes particularly Hunan and Schezuan, and the Japanese noodles. Service is very friendly. They will customize your order if asked. However, they should ask telephone customers to hold when they have a customer actually standing in front of them at the register waiting, especially when they were there first. I've been coming to this restaurant for the past 19 years! I've watched it change owners several times, and the service is always top notch. The portions are large, and you will not be hungry an hour later! Food is delicious. They have the best Pork Fried Rice I've ever eaten. Located a short distance from where I work makes getting take out a snap, I even dine in from time to time. My Favorites are... Tried several times over the last year or so and the quality of their food is still lousy.

Prices are very reasonable and the people I spoke with that were getting their dinner spoke highly of all of the hibachi items. I chose my go to house Lo mein and got general tso's chicken combo with fried rice and egg roll for my sweetheart. Also ordered extra shrimp egg rolls because the came highly recommended by a patron. Very reasonable prices, good food and service. I like the spicy dishes, my kids love the orange chicken and sweet and sour chicken. The portions are large so you won't go home hungry. I also like the hot and sour soup and the crab Rangoons are a hit with the whole family. Yes, the building is aging but I have always found it to be clean. One drawback is no fountain drinks but get the sweet tea if you are dining in and you get free refills. read more

Their chicken is okay, but anything with beef leaves a lot to be desired. I've never been brave enough to try the seafood. The pictures on the menu do not match what's being served. Everything was excellent, service was fast and friendly and the place was very clean and nice for a small take out / restaurant. The servings were also about double in size for what we were used to. Don't expect anything fancy. But the food is good and quick. My husband had the hibachi chicken and shrimp. I had the mo goo combo. It was really good. They don't have soda machines you have to buy it from the can. The sweet tea is good but strong with free refills. This is our go to place for Chinese food in the area. read more
