Visiting Phoenix on vacation and decided to drop in CrossFit PHX for a morning workout. The gym was very clean, equipment was high quality, and coach Joanna was informative and motivational. I had a great experience and a spicy workout! My favorite quality about this gym is the community, everyone was expressly welcoming. I recommend everyone to check this gym out, if I return to Phoenix in the future, I will stop in again! read more

Dropped in earlier this week, and loved it here! If I lived closer, this would be my home gym for sure! Mycal, the owner, made me feel like a part of the family from the moment I walked in the door. And the community is awesome and very welcoming, as multiple people came up and introduced themselves to me before class started. The programming and coaching are also top notch. As a physical therapist, I highly appreciate a good warm up and technique break down, both of which happened. Coach Laura was constantly moving around the room, making sure she saw everyone's movements and cued/corrected when needed. If you ever find yourself in the area, definitely check out PHX! read more

Just dropped in here while in Phoenix in the scottsdale area for business and this is definitely a place you should favorite! Coaching was superb, sparkling clean facilities, conveniently located in Old Town Scottsdale, and just a great overall atmosphere. The coaches made you feel special like a one on one personal trainer while also get the combined effect of a group class experience. I will definitely be back next time I'm in Scottsdale! read more

In town for the Dragon Boat Festival... Being a complete xfit gym geek, I gotta visit one gym while in town... Found this gym in Yelp, and reached out right away for a drop in... Filippo responded right away and gave me the A ok for the next morning. Gym has a solid spot, a lot of space and a quick drive from Tempe Lake or from ASU. Everyone was nice and accommodating! I got a good quick and brutal WOD... Will definitely come back on next year's festival! read more

I have belonged to and been an active part of multiple crossfit and crossfit style gyms. This place, the people, the workouts, are the best I've ever had. Next Level is not only the best bang for your buck but it's more than just a gym it's an extremely welcoming and loving community. The owners, instructors, and members will quickly become family. The coaches are extremely educated and fun to be around. They will push you and build your confidence in the gym. They offer yoga on Thursdays with the greatest soul on this planet, Lexi. They host weight lifting events that are typically followed by picnics in the park where you find yourself staying the whole day. Saturday morning partner workouts are a great way to get a killer workout in, be social, and find others who want truly nothing but the best for you. Beware, you'll find yourself hiking, drinking, dancing, or just hanging out with people from the gym because Next Level is a collection of the hardest working, most bad a**, incredible, and kind people you'll ever meet. read more

In town for a bachelorette and needed to drop into a gym to knock out an open workout! From the time I reached out to ask about working out, to getting set up, getting the workout in warming up, and cooling down everything & everyone was very welcoming/professional! So thankful to have gone to CrossFit PHX! Will be back! read more

After a few years of following CrossFit phx from afar I finally got to drop in and see it for myself. I was met right away by the owner Mycal. The space was open and had all the equipment I needed. We did a classic fun CrossFit workout with kettlebells, squatting and some swings on the rings. The coach was professional and gave appropriate actionable cues to keep me moving safely with that extra push I needed. The members were really fun to meet and friendly. They had open gym available and everyone was respectful of the class. I will definitely go again. Hope you do too. read more

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. I have now been a member for 2 years, and couldn't be happier with my decision to join PHX. Upon initial investigation of Crossfit gyms, I emailed several places hoping to drop in at a few. Mycal, the owner, was the most responsive and enthusiastic in answering my emails and inviting me for a week free trial. I made a list of a few that I would try, but due to Mycal's responses, I decided to try PHX first. Upon walking into the gym, I was immediately intimidated, but this was soon relieved when Caleb immediately came over, introduced himself as a coach, and got me started for the 4pm class. I was super nervous and had a tremendous amount of anxiety, but the entire community was so welcoming. Everyone in class at one point introduced themselves to me and helped me with equipment, movements, and the flow of the workout. I spoke to Mycal after my first workout and was sold. I signed up immediately. Now, 2 years later, I couldn't be more thankful. Mycal and his coaches have created an environment that feels like family. We all support, encourage, and challenge each other. The coaches are super knowledgeable and go the extra mile for EVERY member. You tell them that you have a goal, they will get you there. You do a movement wrong, and they will stop and correct you to prevent injury. 2 years ago, I couldn't do handstand or a pull-up and I doubted myself. Now, I am doing handstand push-ups, pull-ups, and continue to challenge myself with muscle ups, DUBs, and so much more. In addition, I have finally gotten a grip on my nutrition thanks to the advice of Mycal, his wife, and coaches Caitlin and Caleb. I am shocked at how far I have come in such a short time. I highly recommend PHX to drop ins or anyone wanting to find a box to call home! You definitely won't be disappointed! read more

I've been to a lot of CrossFit gyms. This might be the best one. Coaches are top notch. Instruction is on point. Community is great. I had purchased a groupon for another CrossFit in the area and ended up moving to this gym because it was so good. If only all CrossFit gyms could be like this! I will be back. read more

CrossFit Phx has quickly become more than... "just a gym membership" for me! CrossFit Phx from day one welcomed me in as part of the family. Everyone from the coaches to the members are friendly and knowledgeable and willing to help however needed. We all celebrate in each others success and encourage one another when that... one more rep... seems impossible! The great thing is by... just showing up and doing the work... I am far closer to my goals than I ever was just "going to the gym." When you're looking for a "Box" to call home in South Scottsdale... Crossfit Phx... is the one! read more

Had the pleasure of dropping in at this box while in town for a wedding. Coaches Mycal and Caitlyn (sp?) taught the class and they were both very welcoming as well as everyone else at the gym. I really appreciated that! The class was very well structured and the WOD was a killer. The gym is spacious with lots of equipment. They even have a protein shake machine/on tap...what??? Thank you for an awesome class, will definitely have to come back again the next time we visit! read more

Very friendly staff and coaches. I dropped in while in town for a CrossFit owners conference actually and went with several other owners. Of all the gyms I dropped into while in town PHX was the best and most squared away! read more

I needed a box to drop in to for the last open WOD and the community here was so welcoming. Great mobility and coaching, awesome facility (if a bit hot for me coming from SF!). I love that they have Pendlay plates, super grippy bars and Wodify. Also, the shirt I bought from them is hilarious - quad damn! read more

So there I was, in my mid-30s, feeling a bit past my prime and lacking motivation to get off of the couch for the past couple of years. I was looking for a way to get into great shape but I needed something that would provide structure, motivation and added confidence (Coaching!!!) that I was on the right path. I tend to be a bit of a non-conformist by nature and not one to follow the trend -so natually I was skeptical about CrossFit which had frequented my Facebook Newsfeed over the years. Then a good friend talked me into giving it a try. Now the search was on. I had checked out some other local gyms but they felt a little bit "commercialized" and some looked a bit crowded. Then I walked into CrossFit PHX and met Head Coach Mycal Anders. This gym just had a different feel about it...a different character that appealed more to me than some of the others...so I gave it a test run, and now I am hooked. Initially I was nervous and intimidated; feeling overwhelmed with the thought of the intensity of a CrossFit Routine. "What if I get hurt?" BUT the outstanding coaching staff and supportive community at CrossFit PHX calmed my nerves and before I knew it, I am through my first 4 weeks and already feeling a HUGE improvement in my fitness levels. Most importantly, the staff here really focuses on utilizing correct technique and not pushing things too quickly for the beginner. They provide that extra "individualized" coaching attention I need that really pushes my comfort level through the roof. Like they say, "Check your ego at the door". I truly buy-in that they can scale and fit the routine to any and all fitness levels whether old or young, big or small. The people who work out here have also been incredibly welcoming, supportive and encouraging. It is like a family. In my opinion there is not a better value for your dollar than CrossFit PHX for fitness. This place is addicting. read more

Crossfit PHX is a great box with great coaches. I came to PHX from another box and was impressed by the coaching and opportunities. All levels thrive in this environment. They are always growing and helping their athletes through additional offers like Oly classes and Restorative Mobility. I would definitely recommend Crossfit PHX to anyone looking to start Crossfit, experienced Crossfitters looking for a new box, or for drop-ins. read more

The owner and all of the staff take your health and well being personally. They've created a family here for al its members. The programming is killer and have made it a friendly environment for kids too. Super accommodating and make fitness fun! I've dropped into many CrossFit gyms across the country and although this may not be the most glamorous or largest, the training is some of the best and I've seen my body change significantly over the years. I've worked out here through a pregnancy and worked extensively with their on staff nutritionist afterwards. I drive past 4 other CrossFit gyms to get here every day and have been coming for over 4 years. read more

I can't say enough good things about CrossFit PHX. The owner - Mycal Anders - is a fantastic coach and dedicated teacher of both athletes and other coaches. He ensures an extremely high quality of coaching and programming (WODs). The community is welcoming and friendly and the location is great. If you're new to CrossFit the workouts are scaled for you so that you can get a great workout no matter your fitness level. read more

this is an awesome gym! i came from out of town for work and after signing up, Nicole messaged me right away welcoming me! Mckenzie was my coach and i loved the programming. It's a risk signing up for a CrossFit class not knowing if it'll be too easy (or hard) but it was perfectly challenging and the finisher was a cooker. I definitely recommend and it was super clean and a big space! read more

The owner and his staff at this gym are simply top notch in explaining exercises, developing new daily workouts, and supplying ample amounts of motivation. I spent a lot of time looking at the different boxes in the area, and ultimately decided on CrossFit PHX due to the WOD. And I'm glad I did! As I walked through the door, I was instantly greeted by one of the coaches who led me through the registration process, and the owner greeted me as soon as he was finished with his workout. The layout of the gym impressed me the most. Everything was organized and accessible, and there were enough platforms for everyone to work on with plenty of space (my box only has one platform). The owner also ended up teaching my class, and he walked us through the movements of the day, making sure our movements were proper and that we don't hurt ourselves. The actual WOD itself was much more intense than the programming that I'm used to, but the community around me definitely helped pushed me to my limits. And after the WOD, all the regulars came by one-by-one congratulating me on a good job. I travel regularly to the area for work, and I've found my box that I'll feel comfortable dropping in every time! read more

I am new to crossfit but have an athletic background. I did trials of many different crossfit boxes in Gilbert and Mesa and was not impressed with the coaching and the competition at the boxes that I tried out. At Crossfit PHX I have received one on one attention to my form and have gained strength in the two months that I have been attending. Additionally, I have constantly pushed by my fellow crossfit athletes as the experience level ranges from beginner to advanced. Other details that I noticed and appreciate are: large box, 20 racks and pull up bars, new equipment and plenty of chalk. Additionally, although I am not there yet, they have 4 rings from the ceiling and 3 ropes from the ceiling. I am personally greeted by every coach every time I went into to class. They make you feel welcome and valued. I was not sure that crossfit was with the money but Crossfit PHX is worth it to me. read more

Currently moving from Albuquerque to Gilbert. Staying in a hotel for a few weeks in Scottsdale. Dropped in and was greeted with a warm welcome. All staff and members were very friendly and supportive. The next day I met the owner Mycal, who is an inspiring dude. Mycal, the owner, is an outstanding, humble man. I researched all the CF gyms in the area, and made a point to reach out to all of them to see what I had to work with. Based on the message I received, contrasted with the response from other gyms, I knew this was the place to go. They have a very sizable gym, and excellent open gym hours! My friends and I were welcomed with open arms. It has everything you need. Mycal is doing things right. CrossFit PHX is the best option to train at without a doubt. read more

I spent 2 weeks in Scottsdale recently and needed a box to call home for the trip. I am happy I chose Crossfit PHX/Next Level. 3.5 ideally Pros: Great facility and programming. Clearly a great atmosphere for families and people with pets. One of the days I dropped in was a partner day, which can be intimidating, but everyone was very friendly. Cons: Dropped in for a long weekend (4 days) and paid for a one week drop in, thinking it would be a better deal after talking about the options with the front desk girl. The front desk girl failed to tell me they would be closed that Sunday so I over paid. Family friendly but there where babies crawling around the gym 100% unsupervised. One adorable little girl crawled by me and tried to put something in her mouth, it took her mom a full minute to come over. I love family friendly gyms but safety first, watch and contain your kids. read more

I was invited to Saturday drop in class by Chaz and I am glad that I went the WOD was a good one and the atmosphere was enjoyable as well. I travel a ton for business so I've been in dozens of CrossFit boxes all over the world. I always stop in and get a workout whether I'm in NY, Vegas, London or wherever and I'm also a Level One Cert Coach myself. I can honestly say, this is one of the best I've been to. Daryl was a great coach who explained everything carefully and did formal intros so that the out of towner (me) would feel welcome. He also explained how to scale the workout appropriately to get the impact intended and avoid injuries. There were people there at very different levels of fitness and I loved how at the end of the workout those who were finished stood and clapped for those who were still grinding it out. Truly a supportive environment. If I'm ever back in Phoenix, this will be my gym. read more

After moving to AZ from the East Coast I decided to make a second go-round with CrossFit after taking a break to rehab some old injuries. Mycal was extremely welcoming & accommodating before I even stepped into the box as he responded to my inquiries about his gym pretty much immediately! From the moment I stepped through the PHX doors I got the "feels" of wanting to train here. Dave & Mycal have been awesome mentors, taking extra care to help me modify as needed, and in my first 45 days at PHX I'm back to doing skills I haven't done in years (handstand push-ups, what!?!). I'm finally back in the mindset of being jazzed about waking up early to go train!! Your membership also includes some nice perks for belonging to the FAM, so it's definitely a lot of bang for your buck! Thanks, guys! read more
