Let me begin by saying the coach was very friendly. We had a small class so I didn't really see…read moretoo much coaching going on, even though there was some opportunity. I'm pulling for all affiliates to make it, but this box needs a lot of TLC. The space is really small, but that isn't the problem. It was kind of a hot mess in there. The walls were full of holes, ranging from fist size to one you could literally crawl through on hands and knees. The floor was filthy...it doesn't have to be sparkling, but sweeping or mopping once in a while would be a plus. The bathroom situation was actually kind of funny. Men and women share a bathroom. It has two stalls, one for men and one for women. The stall doors are only about 3 feet tall, and raised up off the ground about 18". Kind of a saloon door feel. I'm just not that crazy about being in a rickety stall next to a female when we are both doing our business. Anyway, I hope this box makes it, but they need some help on facilities and although the coach was friendly, he didn't have very much enthusiasm, and didn't really coach much at all. Good luck High Impact. I'm pulling for you, but I won't be coming back.

My sister and I discovered Kauai CrossFit three years ago when there was a tiny gym right on the beach in Kapa'a, and couldn't be more excited to see it grow into the phenomenal space they have now in Lihue (sadly, Jerome announced in May 2014 that the Kapa'a location is now closed). My family every year stays on the South Side in Poipu, so the drive to Lihue isn't ridiculously far (but mo bettah than going to Kapa'a); about 20 minutes. There's also a CF gym in Poipu, but when my sister and I asked about class times/open gym/hours there, they were INSANELY rude to us so we said, screw it, it's worth driving out to Lihue to hang out with Jerome and the amazing and nice people who were working out there. Jerome's outfitted the gym with a lot of really awesome (and new!) Rogue equipment, with a ton of rowers, barbells, rings, a nice pull up rig with good grips, and other miscellaneous CrossFit toys & "things". My sister and I hit up Open Gym twice, and both times we were met with smiles from the locals working out and Jerome's laid back attitude and willingness to make sure that we had what we needed to work out. They've got clean bathrooms, good parking, enough space to where you can "do your own thing", and most of all, a great attitude when it comes to welcoming drop-ins. Much mahalo Jerome, we always look forward to making sure we stop by to say hi and get a workout in!

The staff has only encouraged me and provided tips and positive reinforcement during my workout.

We had a rental house in Poipu about 5 minutes from this facility. One of the perks of our rental was we had access to this facility for the duration of the stay. Our kids are twin 11 year olds and a 7 year old. I was a bit worried about not having the hotel facilities (pool) while staying in a rental house. That's why us having access to this place was so huge for our trip. We weren't here everyday, but having it as option was huge. Facilities: They have a pool with a waterslide, sandy beach area, gym facilities, athletic courts, and their own restaurant/bar. They also have poolside service for drinks and food. We ate at their restaurant the night we flew in as we were tired from the travel day. We let the kids swim then had dinner. Very convenient and the food was decent. Service: We had great service at the pool and restaurant/bar. Food/Drinks: Large selection of the usual tropical drinks. Decent selection of food. Food is good but not great. For the atmosphere though it will definitely get the job done. Prices are very reasonable for drinks. Think 11 or 12 where if you were at a resort probably closer to 20. Food Prices decent also. They had a great special on Mimosas on Saturday and Sunday during the day. Final Thoughts: This place definitely enhanced our trip immensely. We still hit the beach daily and did some activities around the island, but having this as an option was great. I would rent the same house again just because it came with access to this spot.

It is such a magical path First of all the trailhead is pretty hard to find and kind of hilarious. There is literally no official signage, except a sign that reminds people to stay quiet since they're in a neighborhood. There is a designated parking lot may be about a quarter mile away, so you're not supposed to park in front of peoples houses. As you're walking from the parking lot towards the trailhead, someone's house is labeled with a cute story between frog and toad that says that the trailhead is three houses down. There's the most narrow little entryway into the trailhead. We also thought it was funny after our hike that almost all the yelp reviews talk about how easy this hike is. We're a pretty fit family, and I'll just say that after a week of rain, this trail was quite treacherous, so part of our experience may be that we got unlucky with the weather. We had to try really hard not to slip at every step. There's areas down to the river in the waterfalls that are really really steep where we had to grab onto trees and branches to not cause a landslide. We were caked in mud from the knees down and on our hands for most of the hike . Definitely need shoes with good grip - our Keens worked well since we were able to rinse out some of the mud in the river. It rained on and off during our hike, but luckily there were so many trees that the rain itself was not too bothersome, but most of the trail was soaked in mud puddles . We only made it to the first waterfall because of the conditions but still had a blast ! We had a lot of fun but I wouldn't have brought my older parents for example so be wary depending on the rain !

We did read that it can get very slippery and muddy at times, but luckily we didn't run into that issue. The ground was pretty dry when we went, and I had no issues with my super old shoes that had no traction left. There are also few areas when going down to the falls where you need to navigate down some steep/rocky areas, and then back up when coming back. Shouldn't be an issue for those who are able-bodied, but just something to keep in mind if you were hoping to come with those who aren't (maybe not the best idea). The falls were a bit small when we went, but overall the hike was pretty with lots of lush greenery. We saw some people jumping into the water, but we were way too lazy for that. We also read that septic tanks from the neighborhood may leak into the water. Since the trail starts in a residential neighborhood, please be respectful and mindful when walking past homes to the trailhead, and don't be too noisy or trespass. We also parked our cars nearby at Kapahi Park. The neighborhood roads are small and I can see why residents would get annoyed with people constantly cluttering up the street to go hiking. Overall, a great option if you're looking for an easy but beautiful hike. Maybe consider hiking shoes if it has recently rained heavily since apparently it can get muddy.

I had the pleasure of visiting CrossFit Kapaa recently, and I must say, it was nothing short of amazing! From the moment I walked through the doors, I could sense the energy and enthusiasm that permeated the entire facility. The WOD was well-designed, challenging every aspect of my fitness in the best way possible. It struck the perfect balance between intensity and variety, keeping me engaged and motivated throughout the entire session. The programming was clearly crafted with a lot of thought and expertise, ensuring a comprehensive workout that left me feeling both accomplished and invigorated. I can't praise the instructor, Carissa, at CrossFit Kapaa enough. Our instructor, let me tell you, was an absolute pro! Not only did she have impressive knowledge of fitness and CrossFit techniques, but their passion for what they do was evident in every aspect of the class. Just when you think "Jurassic Park...err I mean, Kauai cannot get any better!" you decide to check out CrossFit Kapaa because you've been eating one-too-many banana macadamia nut pancakes at the local Kauai Family Cafe, and then you really fall in love with this island. Stopped by while visiting Kauai for the first time for a few days and took a morning class with coach Dave. Also got to meet Charlotte, who was super nice. Great coach, super friendly people (the kind you enjoy getting to work out with and cheer each other on), and great workout (kicked my butt...literally, we did deadlift and other hamstring/glute exercises that day), and walked out with a cool t-shirt to boot! We were staying in Kauai on vacation and from the first time I walk into the CrossFit Kapaa box everyone were very welcoming and friendly. Charlotte and David are amazing coaches! We were there during the monthly Art Walk, and CrossFit Kapaa hosted a pot-luck BBQ before the Art Walk, which allowed us to meet some amazing and interesting people and make new friends. I would recommend CrossFit Kapaa to any crossfitter here on vacation or anyone looking to try crossfit for the first time. I was blessed enough to find this box during my one week stay on the island. Charlotte was very welcoming and coached challenging, but rewarding, WOD's during the 6 am class. I would highly recommend this Crossfit location for anyone wanting to keep their fitness level up during vacation. FYI, I made it back to the mainland 2 pounds lighter! She had been there almost 6 years, and it was my dream to learn more, grow even deeper. While the world grew unsettled in COVID times, I worked through all the struggles and obstacles in a more graceful state, thanks to my anchor, twice per week, Cloud Nine Yoga School via Zoom. Our cohort went on to study two back to back YTTs finishing off the year with happiness, freedom, peace and reconnected to the light of our true nature. This summer, I had the absolute honor of taking a personal yoga retreat with Erika and her family in the most magical place I've ever visited, the island of Kauai. We did yoga, meditative watercolor, surfed waves, plunged into cold, fresh water lagoons, snorkeled with fishies, hugged trees, and ate healthy, nourishing meals every day, always being present to the beauty that surrounded us. We drank juices, elixirs, smoothies and coconuts. We played, we learned; I healed and evolved. I came to Erika Faith in a sad state. I was suffering the loss of a job that I put my whole heart and soul into for years. Erika helped me realize that it was all for a new calling, a new opportunity for growth. I learned how to let go and let God. The island saved me with its powerful Mana. We got present everyday through conscious meditation and mindfulness of our bodies, mind and spirit. I wish that everyone could experience what I did. It was my greatest gift. Thank you Erika Faith and Cloud Nine Schools.

Both classes were hot - that infrared heat is no joke - and both were hard! Kicked (and sculpted) our butts! We were dripping in sweat and we were a good sore after each. I'd frequent this class if I lived nearby! Bring your own mat, towel, and water. They provide the weights/props. $28 for a drop-in seemed very reasonable! Thanks for a great two classes.

I took the 75-minute Relax Deeply class on Sunday evening, and honestly, I don't think I've ever…read morebeen this relaxed in my life. Some of the poses felt uncomfortable at first, but pushing through that gentle discomfort made the relaxation afterward feel even deeper and more rewarding. The instructor was amazing--calm, clear, and so intuitive with her guidance and adjustments. It was the perfect reset at the end of my trip. If I could take this class every day, I absolutely would.
