Each class is challenging and I do believe that my strength and endurance have both improved significantly. If you're someone who doesn't like running (like me), the great thing about Studio Torch is that you won't be running more than 7 minutes max. The classes are in the form of stations with varying reps, times, distances, and number of times you rotate around the room. The community and staff are also part of why I enjoy it so much. Their weekly schedule is as follows: Monday Arms and Abs, Tuesday Total Body Circuit, Wednesday Butt and Legs, Thursday Total Body Tabata, Friday Cardio and Core, Saturday Total Body, and Sunday Total Body. If you're looking to trial the place, they do a week unlimited for $10! Hands down favorite place to workout.

Every time I walk in everyone just looks so "fit" and knows what they're doing. Don't be afraid to ask questions! The employees are so nice. There are different stations such as treadmill, tower, TRX, weights, etc. It varies each time, but the instructors are good at explaining it. They've been good about extra sanitization because you keep the same spray bottle and towel with you the whole time so you won't touch what everyone else is touching. You also hang your keys so you won't have to take it around with you. It truly is a killer workout and I would recommend it. Get there 10 minutes early if you can incase you have any questions and you don't want to miss the demonstrations!

When I first signed up for a class at 3Minute Fitness, I did not know what to expect. You walk in…read moreand it is a smaller little workout place with grass turf in the middle. I am not going to lie, I felt completely out of place during my first class. Everyone seemed to know what they are doing at each station and the different terminology used. The extremely nice thing is that the instructors go over each station, demonstrate, and tell you how long you are to do things. There are 10 stations and you are at each station for 3 minutes each. There is typically two types of workouts at one station. They can switch every 30 seconds, 2 minutes and 1 minute, or whatever the instructors decide that day. This makes the workout seem much faster! The stations pretty much stay the same: The what I call "fancier" treadmill, kettle bells, rower, Jacob's ladder, TRX, cycling, weights, body weight exercises, and the Dog Sled/ropes. I wish I knew more of the actual terminology of the equipment. It seems to be a rotations of cardio and then weights. Some exercises you do using body weights, such as push ups or burpees. Even though it's only 3 minutes at each station, it is a tough workout and the instructors will absolutely push you! You do get a break in between each station and this time can be used to wipe down the station you were just at. You will warm up and cool down with the instructor and will have music to help motivate you. I typically go during the weekends because those are full body workout days. I have gotten a chance to meet Shannon, Mackenzie, Diana, and Ulli. They all have such a different personality to them which I appreciate. I love Ulli's energy and Diana is hilarious! I would highly suggest 3MF if you want a killer workout! :)

I heard about 3Minute Fitness New Albany from Yelp Elite Lindsay G and her Find Where You Fit…read moregroup. The event she put on there was great. Why? I got out of my comfort zone for 50 minutes and experienced heart pounding workouts. As well as made modifications when I needed to. Just like the previous review, I had tried out all the gyms like Orangetheory, Lifetime Fitness, etc and none really did the job I was looking to get out of a real workout. Fast forward to yesterday, I step foot into 3Minute Fitness see, a bunch of stations and realize, dam I'm going to have my ass kicked here seeing all this equipment. It was certainly the case, 10 stations were put together and each station was 3 minutes hence the name of the place. They definitely kicked this girls butt yesterday! When you get to that point where it's super uncomfortable and you can't go anymore, that's when you know you've had a real workout. I had that here last night. I started on the rowing machine then did body lunges, followed by the hardest thing there the Jacob's ladder which moves only when you do and you have to be strapped to it. From there I moved onto the TRX straps, followed by the bike, weights, ball weights, Rogue equipment you push down the field and back, treadmill controlled by your movement alone and finally kettle bell's. Whew, that was a mother load of a workout! I probably missed a few little things but as you can tell I'm still sore from yesterday as I type this review! 3Minute Fitness, you definitely impressed this girl with your fitness classes! I love when I get the best workout that not only makes me feel better, but changes my whole day from a bad day to the best day of my life from sweating and working as hard as I knew I did!

Take all of the negative stereotypes that you may have heard about CrossFit gyms (called boxes) and…read morethrow them out the window. I've been going to CFR for a little over three months now, and I can't say enough good things about this place. I wanted to wait to write this review until I had been here awhile and could provide a less biased opinion. Some friends had been trying to get me to join for almost 6 months before I finally gave in and decided to give it a try. First off let me preface by saying that CFR is about as inexpensive as it comes when you're talking about CrossFit boxes, but that doesn't mean it's cheap. At $100/month, it's more than triple what I used to pay for my old globo gym (see my other reviews to find out who that was). For that price, though you get so much more than just a sterile environment where you go in, stick headphones on your ears and isolate yourself from the world for an hour or two. There is also a set of Elements classes that you have to take before you can take the regular CrossFit classes. These cost $50 ($55?) and you take three classes, where they introduce you to the basic movements associated with CrossFit, and have you do a WOD each class. CFR is a wide-open area with lots of barbells, a great pull-up rig, and....0 machines other than rowers. That's right; no ellipticals, no treadmills, no leg press. Get ready to use every stabilizer muscle that those machines have been hiding deep down in your body, because the free weights will expose them, and you will be sore at first. You'll learn to love the soreness associated with the WODs (Workout Of the Day). Dan & Heather, co-owners of CFR, are incredible people who genuinely care about each and every one of their members. Each of the coaches there have been amazing with helping individuals learn proper form on their lifts, and offering advice when it's needed. Not only have I lost weight & become much stronger since joining CFR, but I'm more confident in my body and what it can do. When I would lift in the traditional globo gym, I had babied my shoulders for years after previous injuries. When some lifts were added to the WODs that I wasn't sure I would be able to do, I wanted to try and to them at prescribed weight (RX). Even if I wasn't able to do them at the start, I would find a weight that I could do, and still to the RX movement at least. I had never been able to do traditional squats due to pain in my shoulder; had never dreamed about even attempting a handstand pushup, hadn't done a pull-up since I was in 2nd grade, and overhead squats, still the bane of my existence, were more of a nightmare than a pipedream. Now I squat more than my bodyweight; I've gotten a few handstand push-ups, can do multiple consecutive strict pull-ups, and while I struggle still with overhead squats, I can do them. Bring your water bottle, a positive attitude, and get ready to work your ass off with an amazing group of people, who will support you throughout your entire workout. The saying that best exemplifies CrossFit, and CFR in particular, "The only sport where the loudest cheers will be for the last to finish."

It's a couple miles out of my way, but what you get is definitely worth it. They will take the time with you if you are new to CrossFit to make sure you understand.

I have been an SOSer for 5 years now. Which makes it shocking that I'm just now getting around to…read morewriting review, especially since I'm such a mega-fan! I first heard about SOS from a few folks when I worked at L Brands. They had a few loyal customers with whom I worked. To be honest, I was a little intimidated when I'd see these folks post about their workouts on social media. I had thought about trying it circa 2017, but was too intimidated (my loss!). But in 2019, I ended up with a stress fracture while marathon training. I was able to barely finish my training for the NYC Marathon, which I did successfully complete in November 2019. But at that point, it was evident that I couldn't just keep running marathons without incorporating strength training into my routine. So in Christmas Week 2019, I started with the 7 class starter pack just to try it out. My first class was The Course with Kelsey. I felt comfortable because I knew Kelsey from work and luckily a few other co-workers happened to be in the class as well. I still remember during the warm up, I was thinking "dang this is tough!" And Kelsey even said "Much different than running a marathon, right Chelsea?!" She couldn't have been more spot on! I ended up feeling like the class was super tough but I was paired up with a coworker who was so supportive and kind (thank you, Shideh, if you're reading this!). By the time my 7 class pass was up, I was hooked and became a monthly member. I even joined Team Tread (their half & full marathon training program) in January to start training for the Nashville Half in April 2020. Unfortunately for me, my SOS morning routines were abruptly halted in March 2020. But luckily, my team tread registration got me into the "digital studio" which I had no idea what it was at the time. I very quickly uncovered that it's all the same studio instructors and they have recorded classes with new uploads almost daily as well as a huge library of online classes (which as you can imagine has only grown in the past 5 years). I did what everyone else was doing and immediately ordered as many dumbbells, resistance bands, and other equipment to build up a "home SOS studio" and my equipment has been growing ever since. I moved to Arizona in summer 2021, and have continued to be a dedicated Digital Studio user and advocate. Whenever I come home to Ohio (whether Cbus or Cincy), I get giddy at the thought of going to classes in person and it's a treat to choose which classes I'll take and with which instructors. I got married in June 2024 and I purchased the "Badass Bride" classes on the Digital Studio. As I was taking them and leaving comments the owner, Gretchen, messaged me and said she wanted to send me an SOS wedding gift. You'd never believe how touched I was to see a SOS tank, hoodie, sweat towel and t-shirt show up the week of my wedding. I'm still so honored by these thoughtful gifts. Someone I've never even met in person (which is hard to believe given how obsessed I am with SOS lol!) went out of their way to make my wedding week all the more special. I can honestly say SOS Digital Studio has helped me get in the best shape of my life. I feel like I personally know all of the trainers (I don't have social media anymore, but when I did, I followed all of them, so again, felt like I kew them personally). When I was in Hawaii for my wedding, SO many people were asking me about my arms and complimenting me. I kept trying to tell them about the DS and how special SOS is. I will always be a dedicated and loyal fan. It's become such a part of my routine that I'm on Christas Break now with my husband in Kansas (where he's from) and I've brought my ankle weights, light weights and loop bands just so I can get some classes in. Thank you, Gretchen and team for helping me be the best version of myself every day! Can't imagine what I'd do without the DS and my SOS training crew! (Only word of advice to newbies- the System DOES work! Don't skip out on any classes. As you can imagine, being a marathon runner, I favored all of the cardio classes. But it wasn't until I really started incorporating High & Tight as I prepared for my wedding that I noticed the chiseled arms that I'd always wanted. It's a well-rounded program that works wonders as long as you incorporate ALL of the classes).

As with Jamie who also posted a three star, I felt this atmosphere in the Clintonville SOS was…read moreconducive to competent, enthusiastic instruction and surprisingly unpretentious clientele. It simply is not gauged to my fitness goals and metabolic profile. I am interested in maintaining muscle and bone mass and keeping my weight on an even keel. This system does neither. It is all about tone and high-rep, intense cardio and light weights. Classes are often so overbooked I was not even able to schedule the "Ebb and Flow" to check it out on an introductory package. It seems designed almost purely for late 20's 30's and early 40's professionals. The intensity increased my hunger and had me gaining significant weight in a fairly short time. SOS needs to do a profile on people's fitness goals and be real about it. There is almost no help on that as in a regular gym. Summarized, I would call it well-run but too narrow for a wide swathe of people. It's expensive too. I only pay 30 dollars for the locally owned Columbus Sports Connection a mile away and they have yoga, fitness, and indoor bike classes that don't fill up. I am glad I tried SOS but it has proven itself incompatible with my fitness goals.
