Training at Crossfit Fortem has transformed my life in so many positive ways. I started CrossFit 8 years ago, not exactly sure what I was getting myself into. It was so challenging for me; I remember crying after workouts because it was so mentally exhausting. I almost quit after a few months, but the community and encouragement kept me coming back, day after day. Aside from the increased strength and mobility, maintaining this routine has built mental resilience and grit. I would argue that this may be more important to me than the physical strength I have gained. Crossfit has taught me to stay calm in discomfort, how to break big challenges into manageable pieces, and to show up and do what I know is best, despite my emotions or motivation. After continuing CrossFit through my last two pregnancies, I learned to appreciate the ability to scale any movement. To meet you where you're at, proving that CrossFit can be for anyone. It's no wonder 7 of my 8 kids have done CrossFit at some point, with 5 of them currently training at Fortem. I'm so grateful that through the kids classes, they get to experience the Fortem community at such a young age! We all know how amazing the community of members and coaches are! I truly believe we have the most knowledgeable, welcoming, and wholesome gym environment. I am looking forward to continuing my Crossfit journey at Fortem for many years to come! read more

This gym is amazing! They have extremely dedicated and very knowledgeable coaches. They always make you feel welcomed and know how to individualize (scale) a workout based on your fitness level. In my opinion what makes this gym stand out is the coaching they offer. Coaches are fully engaged (not on their phones) during the workouts so you are constantly getting feedback and encouragement. Was there for a year until I moved out of the area but I miss it very much, especially my coaches Aiden and Joyce. Battle of the Boxes was held here this weekend. (woo crossfit chino hills, shameless plug i know. Cf Kinnick is situated in a residential neighborhood in Upland. There isn't any better motivation to get fit than waking up to go to work after having eaten a sugar-laden breakfast and seeing a bunch of fit (see also ripped; see also shredded) people walking in and out of this place. Uh huh you know you're guilty of that sugary breakfast. There's a parking lot across the street and sufficient street parking all around. The gym itself is spacious paired with a courtyard (sans grass) for those who want to take their workouts outside. The pull up rigs can adequately cover a large glass too. The athletes who train at this box are getting some legit training cause they did relatively well especially in the lifting workout. Beasts I tell you!! Team atmosphere, great coaches and world renowned members. If you are tired of going to a standard, meat market gym where you don't know anyone and are looking for elite fitness, then CrossFit Kinnick is where you should be. I have been a member for a couple years and have seen tremendous gains in my performance and huge loses in total weight, body fat and pant sizes. The gym is more like a family where get-togethers are common place and elite athletes are there to push you to your true abilities. Anyone that's been here knows that this place is more than a gym- it's a community. The workouts are taught by experts who have gone to the games. Each class is directed by an instructor and scaled or modified according to individual needs while still participating in the class workout. This gym ranges from all ages from a kids class to some "older" people (no offense) but it just a goes to show the range of who can do this and the class is tailored to the individual. The instructors are very good at this. Classes are always full of laughs, competition, and fun. Worth your time to check it out and it give it a shot. read more

I was very interested in this gym since I had a couple friends recommend it, but it took two weeks to finally get a consult. The lack of communication was very frustrating, but I stuck with it to finally get a time. After the consult It seemed like they are money hungry because they expect a seasoned, athletic person with 30 years experience to pay for 3-5 beginner/basic classes at 100/class. It's not the money, but it felt like a scam to make money. I understand that many people are inexperienced, but let someone experienced, sign a waiver and try out a class. They admit this is not required in other gyms so I will check out one of the many others around. I called the Rancho CrossFit and they have a much better business model with 6 FREE basic classes and $150/mo unlimited and just as good of yelp reviews. read more

Is there an option to give zero stars? Cause I would. They are registered as a weightlifting club but they don't even have a class. When you email to ask about their weightlifting program they don't have have the courtesy to tell you that. I even tried calling and no answer. Last I went there, thinking maybe they are crazy busy right now. Nope not busy just lazy and rude. The chick that finally came to talk to me didn't even know her terminology well in either crossfit or OLY. The male coach at the time couldn't even take 30 seconds to tell me they stopped doing OLY & didn't have the decency to update the website, he had her be the go between. Maybe I've only experienced amazing crossfit boxes or I've been spoiled by wonderful owners but this place doesn't deserve the crossfit name. NEVER TRY THEM. In fact, turn around and go to Crossfit Foothill or Crossfit Lifted, great & classy owners. read more

This place is a joke! Starting with the hypocritical, over zealous "leader" Jeremy! He claims this is a box family however there is no inclusion... only when it comes to benefiting him financially. For example his challenges are ridiculously overpriced. The WODs are boring and repetitive. The competitor classes on the weekends are by invitation only never inviting dedicated members but only those within his clique. For someone that preaches the word of the Lord, he's a rude and condescending. He's not a coach but a self absorbed athlete , looking to only advance himself.. CFK (Crossfit Kinnick) helped me break out of the tired old 'routine' at the gym. I wasn't seeing much progress until I joined CFK, then BAM, I'm back in action and surrounded, literally surround, by staff and other members who are inspiring and genuinely want each other to succeed. Dropped in for their 6:30pm class last night from out of town, and was really impressed with the coach, the facility, and the welcoming and supportive athletes. The coach was really positive and provided some really great tips on how to improve my form to be more efficient. The facility was large and clean-loved the photo collages in the waiting area, nice touch! Definitely a strong sense of team and celebration of achievement shines through here. The other athletes, as well as the coach remembered my name and cheered me and one another on. I am glad that I decided to drop in here-I was in very good hands here. Highly recommend it! read more

This is different then any other gym I' ve have ever been to. The trainers are very knowledgeable about every aspect of fitness.
