I have been into athletics my entire life, playing collegiate soccer and being a physical educator for 38 years. Running especially had been a passion of mine. After so many many years of running I was finding that my body was breaking down. My knees were starting to hurt, my gate was shortening and I was tripping on my runs and my posture was getting worse. I have been with Crossfit Cobalt since they have opened and the strides I have made are incredible. I am 64 years old and feel better then I have in my entire life. I am gaining the strength I had lost from simply running, my posture has tremendously improved. Having been a physical education teacher for so many years I know what it takes to run a class of students efficiently and safely. David and Beth do a phenomenal job of this they are constructive, friendly and really care about their members. The entire community of the gym is friendly. This is not like a typical where you walk in with head phones on and work out, when you walk in the door you are greeted by everyone who is there (especially the gyms dogs!). After the work out people come up to you can congratulate you for putting in the work you did. I have never seen two people care more about what they do as I see in David and Beth. They are continuously running events for the members to attend at their choosing, they have offered specialty classes at the members request, and are always obtaining new equipment to keep the members entertained. I have been to other Crossfit gyms on they island for competitions and to drop in for a work out, but Crossfit Cobalt is top notch and would recommend it to anyone and everyone. Crossfit Cobalt is a great gym in the babylon area! I have been crossfitting for almost three years and have been a member at other gyms in the area, and have visited many gyms hear on the island and other states, this is BY FAR MY FAVORITE! When I visit other gyms on vacation, COBALT is who I compare it to! The coaches are awesome and always willing to help. I was injured prior to Cobalt opening and I needed a lot of TLC, which I got and still do get from the helpful and educated coaches. Many times coaches are experienced crossfitters, but these owners and trainers are more than just experienced crosffitters, they are college educated in areas that apply to crossfit: physical therapy, kinesiology, physical education. I trust my body, my fitness, and my health with the coaches here. The community at Cobalt is one with some of the most encouraging, funny, and fit people I have ever met. There is a wonderful balance and culture at Cobalt!!! The other members are always helping to cheer on the fellow members, and they know when to push you and when to hug you! There are days when I really just go to the gym to socialize, and the workout is secondary to my social hour. Cobalt really embodies the constantly varying movements and brings in unique aspects of fitness to the workout. Cobalt really helps transform you physically and mentally. As I was searching for another Crossfit box, the moment I walked into CrossFit Cobalt I felt at home. The owners, coaches and members are very friendly. Cobalt has outstanding coaches with high levels of experience and expertise. Cobalt is committed to each individual's fitness level and goals. The best thing about Cobalt is that it is fun! They bring interest and excitement to every work out. The members can get involved with runs, races, competitions or social outings. I've been doing Crossfit with this box for around 6 months or so and it has really been a great positive experience for me. All the instructors spend close attention to my form and make sure everything goes smooth during my workouts. I started with horrible form and now I feel like it's really getting better, and I'm able to perform very well. I've dropped a great amount of body fat already, and I'm really starting to see results in my physique. The workouts are challenging but it keeps my body guessing. They offer so much more than just a workout, there's a great level of camaraderie, special events monthly, personal one on one sessions, partner workouts weekly, physical therapy for injuries and even wine on Wednesdays. Coming from an athletic background as a high school and college athlete I had always spent time in a normal gym running and lifting. I was looking for something different from the normal routine when I joined Crossfit Cobalt last January and I can confidently say that it has been a life changing experience! In under a year David, Beth, Steph, and all of the trainers at Cobalt have helped me get into the best shape of my life and more importantly have helped me have a great time while doing it. Amazing, amazing, amazing experience. I love my crossfit family. That is exactly what they have become and that is family. The encouragement from everyone is incredible. I joined crossfit with my daughter and it has been an incredible experience. The coaches are well trained and are there to help with any questions. I started at Crossfit Cobalt 2 months ago. I had recently quit smoking after 13 years and physically felt horrible. I had chronic back and neck pain and needed to do something about it. After 2 months committed, I have never felt better in my life. After many failed gym memberships due to lack of motivation or repeating the same routine over and over, the team atmosphere and variety of workouts is what makes Crossfit different . I joined Cobalt the day it opened. I was previously at another Crossfit and was planing to go to Cobalt for a few months until the weather got warmer. Great place really does teach the class how to work out properly and make sure you don't over do it.
