I'm trying to find a new home gym so I went in to get a tour and took advantage of the first free…read moresession special they have online. They have multiple options including sauna Pilates, yoga, cycling, rowing, iso, core, buns sessions. I ended up doing the Pilates one. Each sauna room can fit three people but it really comfortably fits two so that each person can I have safe. From my understanding when you book online you can tell how many people are already booked for that session. Overall love the idea as someone who struggles to sweat in the gym, this really does feel like a good sweat. It's also open 24/7, so for people with odd schedules, it works. I could not find a place to put the volume up but that was probably my own fault, I should have just asked. There is a small area with workout equipment, I'd say that I can imagine this area could get packed. It doesn't feel like enough space.

I called last month to cancel my membership knowing I would be charged a same day cancellation fee…read moreof $99. when I got on the phone I was told if I waited one more month I would be at my 6 month of membership and it would be free to cancel at that time so naturally I waited one more month and paid my normal $79 membership fee and then sent in an email to cancel. The manger then told me that I shouldn't have been told that and my only option was to pay $99 to cancel. After I explained what their employee told me, the manager responded by telling me that this is why it is important to review the membership agreement. If an employee is the one that recommended I wait then why would I question that? Do better and train your employees properly.

Long overdue praise for SoCap Crossfit. I have moved quite a bit and been a member of boxes all…read moreover the country and world, but SoCap is at the top. Adam really knows his stuff and his programming blows away other boxes. At a lot of Crossfit gyms it seems the only people that get any coaching are the elite athletes or the brand new beginners, leaving the majority of us that reside in the middle on our own. Not so at SoCap. Every athlete from newbie to elite gets great coaching and comes away feeling good and like they improved. I know there are plenty of options in Raleigh for a Crossfit gym, but trust me, come and give SoCap a shot.

Where do I begin? I was in town for a month and chose to try out CrossFit Knightdale since it was…read moreclose to where I was staying, and I am so glad I did! The facility is new and they have everything you could want in a box--all the essentials, a GHD, lots of mobility tools, and plenty of parking. The coaching is personalized to each member; Daniel is outstanding and really takes time to answer any questions you have. I also had Lauren as a sub once, and she was great, too. They always strike a balance of challenging you but also not pushing you past your limits. It's a relatively new box with some CrossFit veterans, but many newbies. The age range also struck me--I am always impressed when a box has a healthy dose of people over the age of 30. To me that says the coaching is accessible and scalable, while still being challenging for all the young spring chickens. Class times are great--early morning, mid-morning, lunch, and after work times. Prices are absolutely reasonable. Now onto the members--what a welcoming bunch! My job has me travelling a lot (like, I'm on the road for 10 months solid right now), so I drop in to boxes all over the place. I should count, but it's probably close to 70 at this point. It's such a relief when the members notice the new person and make a point of introducing themselves and welcoming them to the group. That is the case at CrossFit Knightdale--the members couldn't be more welcoming. And so there we have it--every time I am visiting the area, I will be back to CrossFit Knightdale in a heartbeat. If you're considering joining a box, I highly recommend this one. You'll get personalized coaching and you'll be joining a thriving community of encouraging people. You'll also make lots of #gainz :-). Thanks for an incredible month, y'all! Hope to see you soon.
