I suffer from asthma and it's stepped up a notch recently. The infrared sauna made breathing so much easier with just one workout. I was sold! Dallas has no shortage of gyms, but when you're choosing the one -- the one you'll see more than…read moreyour own reflection -- it has to feel right. I'd been hearing whispers (the good kind) about working out in infrared light, so naturally I had to investigate. This studio offers a free first class, which is honestly the chicest way to commit-curious a new gym. Low risk, high glow potential. Here's what you should know: the concept is interesting -- but not super clear online. They have around eight private infrared rooms, and classes rotate every 15-30 minutes depending on the format (most run about 30-45 minutes). On weekends especially, sessions are consistently cycling through. You can book a specific class, but there's also flexibility built in. If you're there and space allows, you can jump into a different session or pivot your workout. It's structured... but with options. Very choose-your-own-fitness-adventure. Confession: I arrived early (as one does for a first class), and the doors weren't open yet because we were technically late for that session. Slightly confusing at first -- but once inside, it made more sense how the rotations work. A clearer explanation online would've saved a little guesswork. The workout itself? A solid, full-body intensity without being punishing. I hadn't worked out consistently in a while, so I wanted something effective but not soul-crushing. This delivered. You definitely feel it, but in a "see you again tomorrow" way. What I loved: * 24-hour access (major bonus for unpredictable schedules) * Super clean, modern space * Easy parking (underrated luxury in Dallas) * Friendly, welcoming staff * Great value for the price They also offer branded workout apparel (think training capris, etc.), which is cute but not required. My only hesitation? Motivation and in-person energy. Because of the semi-private infrared room setup, it's less of that high-five-the-room group vibe and more self-directed. If you thrive on heavy social interaction, that's something to consider. If you like autonomy with structure, you'll love it. Overall, it's a really strong option -- especially if infrared training has been on your radar. Clean, flexible, effective, and open 24/7? That's a compelling Dallas fitness situation. Would I go back? Very possibly. My muscles are still deciding.

All right Yelp, it's been awhile. I have a love-hate with sharing my favorite places because then…read morethey'll get too busy but dusting off my Yelp review skills because this place really deserves all the hype and kudos. So if you're on the fence, get your popcorn, here we go. I am the queen of workout studio classes - cycling, barre, pilates, HIIT, Orangetheory, F45, Equinox, classpass. Been there, done that. Each studio has their upsides and purpose depending on your fitness goals but at the end of the day, if you're anything like me, each studio loses its glamour due to the repetitive nature of the classes. In comes Madabolic! So you're wondering, how does this differ and why is it great?? 1. The workout does a great job of keeping things fresh - cycling between Durability Days (heavier weight focused at 80% efforts throughout), Momentum (building momentum efforts at 70%, 80% and 90%) and Anaerobic Days (all out 100% HIIT in your face days). Different things going on everyday and don't let the titles "Durability" fool you that it's a specifically a weight lifting day or that "Anaerobic" is strictly a cardio day - all days include a good ratio of both. Trust me, you will be sore (in a good way). 2. The coaches (and the people)! Granted I do 530am workouts where I'm barely awake for half of the class, but everyone is extremely welcoming and friendly. Plus if you're a newb like me and working on your form, you actually get assistance with your form and help with modifying your workout if needed. 3. The difficulty. Finally a workout that accommodates both men and women (Couples workout? Day date? Anyone?). Similar to Orangetheory or F45, there are several options for weights depending on your level - but differing in the fact that the weight choices are clearly set by level so you know what to choose without having to guess and have something to build up to if you're looking to BUILD that muscle! 4. All right, the last thing. Let me address the elephant in the room - Boxing. Either you come in loving it or absolutely dreading it. I was definitely the latter. Every class includes it and I had maybe 10 minutes of boxing experience prior to this and hated this circuit so much in the beginning that I constantly considered quitting the studio every time. Hear me out - It grows on you and soon you'll begin to feel like a badass and recognize how great it is for your core and arms - trust me, it could be worse, you could be doing mountain climbers and push-ups everyday to work those muscles .

My ONLY recommendation is to have benches or some type of seating out in the check in area. people who don't like wearing their training shoes to and from their workout can sit and change their shoes. I felt weird sitting on the floor so I balanced and changed shoes standing up. Haha! Walked to the car and changed out of my shoes back into my regular street shoes. No big deal but definitely something to think about!!

The trainers not only push and inspire you, they actually care as well. They check in, lift you up, and still push you to do more. I love that they don't force you to lift or jump like a stronger athlete, instead they show modifications but help push you to work to be stronger, etc. I was struggling mentally and physically from menopause and I recently participated in the 6 week challenge and lost 10 pounds and have gained back my happy positive energy. I've been able to sleep better, lose weight, slowly lift more and build muscle all while surrounding myself with AMAZING people and be part the 5am crew.. Blake and his staff from day one have made me feel like I've been there for years. Glenn is top notch and gives us positive soul energy each week and makes it FUN! Jessie's leg days & encouragement are a no miss for me! AK is FAB whether she's weighing us, kicking our butts in training or checking in with positive affirmations just to name a few. Then there's Blake with his awesome warmups and words of encouragement before he makes us put in the work! The Camp Transformation Farmers Branch is INFECTIOUS in all the right ways!!! If you like structure and consistency in your yoga classes, then you'll like Gaia. I first…read morediscovered them on ClassPass, but I stopped doing CP and going to Gaia directly. My favorite class is Still Water (yin yoga) which is focused on holding single poses for a longer duration. I also like the other two beginner classes, Gentle Waves and Dessert, although I honestly can't discern between the two. Classes typically start with a warm up of some kind (core work in the normal classes) followed by a short 5 minute group discussion. I'll admit the first time I can to Gaia this part was WEIRD. But it has grown on me, I like hearing the "good news" from other people in the class - it gives a sense of community. They also do a short spiritual on the yamas & niyamas. It's nothing weird, I often do find that the instructors give me something new to consider. That's followed by another 40mins or so of practice. During the final minutes of practice, the instructor massages your shoulders and neck with an energizing lotion. I'll admit that I find it a little gross, but I still enjoy it. I mostly feel bad for the instructors. Other things I like: early morning practices, yoga mats and blocks available, room is kept warm (not hot!), and easy parking. My only gripe is that practices don't always end on time. Combine that with having to arrive early (late yogis have to shamefully tap on the glass to get the instructor to let them in!), a one hour yoga class can quickly turn into a 2 hour affair. I've been loving my at-home practice but when I need something more I'll still be coming here and nowhere else.
