The lake and beach is gorgeous. We kayaked, rented a pontoon boat from the campground for an afternoon (very reasonably priced) saw loon & a bald eagle. The campsite was a bit small (Site 113. 30ft trailer 1 slide) but we don't spend much time at the site so that was fine & not a prerequisite for us. Most sites were decent size. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The snack shack( great fried dough), beach house, camp store were all very updated. Very nice horse shoe pits, bocce, playground & field if you have kids. The tent sites on the water were gorgeous with their platforms. A lot of seasonal campers who seem very friendly. Lots of golf carts around but relatively quiet. Lots to do in surrounding area as well. Only downs I saw was the bathroom near us was bit outdated but not unclean, (we use the RV anyways) and the WiFi was spotty and slow. But you're on vacation right? Already looked into booking for next year for a longer stay. Definitely recommend.

I am cross posting my review on here as well as google. I had wanted to go camping here for a…read morecouple years and finally got to experience it myself on the Fourth of July weekend. We arrived on the fourth and had to wait to check in because the owner was hosting a game with the campers. To my surprise she doesn't ID her guests when they arrive yet has them sign a waiver. The camp had a very cliquey vibe and many of the campers seemed unwelcoming and judgmental even though there is a supposed community vibe. The two bathrooms were constantly muddy and the first night we were there the bathroom had period blood on the floor. There are no cleaning materials available to guests in the bathroom other than a squeegee. The staircase leading down to the yurts and primitive sites has a giant piece of metal sticking too far out that you have to watch out for. The activities hosted by the owner seem like such a money grab considering the large amount of money guests spend to stay here. Paying five dollars per bingo card is absurd. The communal grills, griddles and kitchen tools were often dirty because the campers didn't bother to really clean up after themselves. The website claims that there will be floats available to use in the river which there weren't. The campground is very small and everyone is on top of one another. We stayed in a Yurt that was on unleveled ground and constantly would trip and stumble if we needed to get up in the night. Trinity (the owner) herself seemed to have a holier than thou attitude towards her guests. I wouldn't recommend going to this campground but I'm glad we tried it out and met some interesting people while we were there because they made our trip worthwhile.

This camp overworks the young counselors and pays horribly for the amount of work and…read moreresponsibility they place on their shoulders. The parents are paying so much money and they exploit their counselors and pay them next to nothing and do....what with the rest? There was a Typhoid exposure with a kitchen worker this year and they covered it up and didn't tell the parents or anyone at camp about it until the CDC was alerted to this exposure (most likely from wherever he sought medical care) and came to inspect the camp - which the camp failed on almost all areas. They were given a certain amount of time to get it together and make the camp safe before they were going to take action and shut it down. One of the young counselors (17 years old) had an allergic reaction and their supervisor tried to make them still work instead of resting and recuperating from said allergic reaction. The administration would work the counselors like they weren't even humans. Overall, the camp's conduct and the way they treat the counselors is totally unsafe - which is also unsafe for the campers. It sounds like it used to be a nice camp, but not under the current administration.

She talks about it all the time! She says she loves the camp because she made a bunch of really great friends there, found that she loves horseback riding and sailing, and loves the experience of having time away from her everyday life. I love that these girls get to relax without the pressure of their everyday peer group and screens! She is there for weeks in a rustic environment without electronics and no complaints. Plus she says the food is great. It is a beautiful camp that we feel fortunate to have the opportunity to attend each summer for as long as possible.

Some things still hold true a year later: 1. Scheduling, paying for, and signing the waiver for your adventure online is unbelievably easy. You can rent kayaks, paddleboards, or canoes for 2, 3, or 4 hours at a time (embarking between 9a and 3p. You can add a lesson before your rental, a cell phone dry bag, a dog life jacket, and a large dry bag all for an additional nominal fee. You can launch from Sebago Trails (side note: they have a really neat - and super secure - docking system/apparatus for you to get in and out of your vessel safely) or pick-up and take-away (something we haven't done, but - contrary to what I said above - *is* something we'd come back here for if that was an option for us)! 2. There's plenty of parking! Unfortunately: a) One of our kayaks was broken (which they told us about, but still put one of us in), and in the end we had to turn around after a little bit of paddling to swap it out. The kayaks aren't all the same brand or style, either, so where I was in something super sleek (that moved quickly through the water), my partner was in something much bulkier (that took a lot more work to paddle). b) The staff was so friendly and welcoming the first time! The second time, not so much. So, for us anyway, it's a bit hit or miss there. The SPTC map: a) The first time we came we kayaked Panther Run (a really mellow, lazy river inlet), portaged across the Mill Street Dam, kayaked all the way up Panther Pond, and ended at Hawthorne Beach where we swam and enjoyed snacks. It was a workout, but we saw so much wildlife and hardly saw other people. Such a peaceful, lowkey, lovely way to spend a day! b) The second time we came there had been no rain most of the summer. And that changed the Panther Run experience entirely (as there was barely any water): we got stuck on the sand so often, that we decided to turn around and head out into Sebago Lake instead (another route that STPC offers if you're not renting and taking away). We kayaked up to Hot Tub Island (which is this man made ring of stones) for lunch but it - and the knee deep water around it - was absolutely covered in and full of bird poop. So we kayaked over to Raymond Beach which was the other spot STPC suggested, but it was so crowded we had nowhere to pull up. In the end it was a nice day bobbing in the water - we saw lots of fish, baby ducks, turtles, and an enormous barn owl! - but not for $90.
