Not too crazy on a Wednesday night. Was able to get seated right away. Didn't take long for the weight staff to pop by and answer questions, give us some samples. In my last review of this place, I was wildly unhappy with the engineering of the restrooms because of its implications for child safety. They have gone to very strong lengths to substantially, engage and resolve all of my issues. I would not be afraid at all that if my kids went into the bathroom, some stranger would have access to them that they shouldn't. This is a fun little place with some great background music. It's like a brew pub meets a diner with lots of table tables. The staff is friendly and engaging. If you're gonna eat here, the pork sandwich is pretty good. My sweetie liked her cheesesteak. Also, they had a pretty yummy stout on tap as well - something fluffy stay puff. My buddy Nick really enjoyed the Irish red. Says it's very yummy. read more

Don't go. This place is a rip off. I just paid $20 for nachos with a little bit of pork on top. Now, the purchase is on me. I misread the menu's prices. Gotta own that, but holy heck, $20.00 for a plate of chips with some sauce and veggies. And when the nachos first came out, had to send them back. Barely any queso on top and the "queso" and pork were cold. That was after waiting 25 minutes for them. When they came back out, they were warmer, but the nachos were gross. Almost no flavor. The pork tasted boiled and had no seasoning. Tried to eat the nachos but couldn't. Left almost a whole plate load. The one beer I had was good, but the price tag for two beers and late/cold/bland nachos that I couldn't eat came out to $42.60 after a tip. No thanks. read more

First here. You pickup menus and order at the bar. We got the southwest egg rolls, they were good, a little too much egg roll to filling. I got the avocado bacon burger. It was good, don't think I would order it again. The burger itself was kind of plain. My boyfriend got the chicken tenders. Holy cow were those were awesome! They were also big. The French fries were excellent! They had a very good drink menu as well. I found out you can bring your dog in the summer on the patio. Definitely going back! read more

Been a few weeks, as we happened to stop in when driving through. I would call it a taproom... with good food. The beer selection was on point, and that's always a good start to a good review. Our party of 4 ordered two personal pizzas, and two different styles of hamburgers. The pizzas were ate without complaint and the burgers, although messy, were also very delicious. Service was all at the bar, so it was pretty quick. Not as quick as the food came out, though! Pretty simple seat yourself set up, but it totally worked especially since they night we went it was pretty slow. If I ever found myself in Piqua again I would stop by for round two! read more

This was our first time in this town. It's super cute and the brewery has a great location right by the water. They have a nice outdoor area and the inside is very spacious. We did not eat but the food looked so good. The bar tenders were nice and helpful with making selections and letting you try samples. We enjoyed the amber, the winter ale and the rainbow drink. I really want to give the Crooked Handle more than 3 stars, I just can't. It has a potential for a 5 and maybe I just went on an off night. The location is great, plenty of outdoor seating, love they have a water cooler where you can help yourself. Love the local music playing, the Cornhole, the fast pass line for beers and checkout only, love the blue beer collab with the Dayton Boat club. Service was quick too, considering there was 7 of us. I was impressed. But I think all these things I love lead to a high expectation with the food and when you get a $16 bison burger, with a pretzel bun (love that they have that as an option) and it's sub par, it's a big downer. Especially since bison isn't a common item, if your going to have something unique deliver, it needs to be a home run, not a single. And the sliders, you get two sliders that are seriously the size of a half dollar, it's just another downer. The slider is small the bun is small, and there is no love put into them, they just sit there on their try to be laughed it. And then you laugh at yourself because you gotten taken $10. Literally for those two reasons, two bummers is a full star I guess so half stars don't exist on Yelp. I could give 3.5, but I can't. I really want to like this place, but with cost going up everywhere I'm more mindful of how money is spent and we aren't going out as much. We decided to try this place since it's new and I love beer. The beer is great, the service at the bar is very slow and that's where food and drinks are ordered. You grab a food and a beer menu, find a table, decided what you want then go to the bar to order. The beer comes first, they text you when the food is ready. There are no waiters. The kitchen is fairly fast. We started with sliders that came with chips. Quite good actually! Chips were even house made. Yum! I went back to get a second beer and after a 10 min wait, I decided I didn't need another beer that bad. Next the pizza was ready. It's on the same order as frozen pizza heated up. We asked for a pepperoni pizza, no pepperoni was on the pizza. Crust is plain, sauce is plain. Cheese was good. I'll go back for the beer but not the pizza. read more

Service was great! Food was awful. Very overpriced for what you get. One of us got the grilled chicken Caesar wrap and it was the bulk chicken you get from factories- spongy. Chicken tenders were stringy and overcooked. Spent $160 but would've been $60 and higher quality back home in Charlotte where breweries are on every corner. read more

This place is amazing! What a beautiful spot and a great addition to the area! It's right on the river downtown! The are going to have a huge outdoor area that connects to a park right on the river. They have a huge bar area with lots of seating. There are garage doors behind the bar that open up to the patio bar. You have a great view of the brew house from the taproom. They have an incredible kitchen that is wide open so you can see the action. I love that! They also have a pizza station that I can't wait to put to the test! They have a huge event center in the front of the building that can be reserved for private parties. They had cornhole boards, a separate TouchTunes, and some video games. It's a great space! This was their soft opening. I can't wait to come back when they are in full swing! read more

Went to the "Order Here" sign and was completely ignored. Phone rang behind the bar and somebody showed up to answer it, but we were still ignored. An employee came to the bar to look at the tablet and, yet again, we were ignored. Walked out and will not be back. A great addition to piqua where there's not many choices. The atmosphere is nice and there's plenty of seating options inside and out. You order at the bar and your food is brought to your table. The menu has something for everyone appetizers, sandwiches, salads, pizza and wings. We get a couple things each and share so everyone gets to try different things and there's always leftovers to take home. They make their own chips for the nachos which were good but they could use a little salt. read more

I've been to the crooked handle in Springboro several times. The beer is solid, but they don't rotate their taps very often. They may add a seasonal beer possibly one or two beers annually. The location in Piqua is on the corner of a very busy street on the main drag. Parking is very limited. They have no seats at the bar. I guess the thing that irritates me the most about breweries these days is all of the kids that are in breweries. Why do people take their children into breweries? I came in today and there were probably 10 or 12 kids running around in a establishment that serves alcohol. my belief is that breweries should be for adults and adults only to enjoy a beverage of alcoholic content. They do have food here at this one. I did not have the food. But it looked pretty good. I probably won't stop back in unless I'm in the area and have no other place to go read more

We have been twice. The food and the beers are pretty good, but it is a little pricey, especially when you order at the bar and pick everything up yourself (there is no traditional table service). The outdoor seating looks nice, but we noticed that they have no umbrellas or coverings of any kind out there. Not really too inviting on a hot, sunny day. The thing that we do not like are the unisex restrooms. Sorry folks, but this isn't going to the bathroom at home... being in a restroom with men that I do not know and hearing conversation's appropriate for a truck stop just takes away from the entire place. We've given it a chance, but there are better local brewery/restaurants around. read more

We love the location and the river views. Pizza is great and a nice selection of beers and seltzers. Also the staff is friendly and they seem to be very supportive of the community (the were having a fundraiser the night we were there for a local family). We have plenty of pizza places in Troy but we will head north to piqua often to visit this restaurant. read more

Well to start we arrived at 11:30 for lunch and was greeted promptly. By a friendly smile. After sitting down outside and looking over the menu we decided on lemonade for myself, which didn't have any flavor, while the other party had a house brew. For lunch I personally had the "smash" burger. When it arrived out you can clearly see the Pattie's form. I was expecting it to be pressed out and have a crispy outer edge. Isn't that what a smash burger is suppose to be? This also came with house made chips and to my surprise I found 8 chips not even cooked and cold to the touch. Most of them were chewy and didn't have any flavor. We brought this up with the staff and they choose to show what they call is the "Chef" more or less cook if food isn't prepare at the same time. The staff brought out another selection of chips again and they were cold to the touch and stale. We asked about them and they advised the chef said they were made this morning. Keep in mind we showed up at 11:30. Then the story changed to I don't know when they were honestly made. The other party had wings which were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside I wish I would of gotten those instead. This is a serve yourself establishment where you will need to go up and order your drinks and food and the bar then grab them when they are ready. After you are all done you buss your own table and proceed on your way. The wings are what warranted the 2 stars I would of went lower because of the cost of food and quality we received. You would think if you aren't that busy that you would drop fresh chip slices with each sandwich order or what ever else they come out with. Instead you will get cold to the touch or stale chips with Parmesan cheese on top that's not melted to them. read more

The old building looks amazing from outside. Makes you want to go in and see what's new. The esthetic inside leaves a little to be desired. It feels as if it's not completed, still a work in progress. Having never been there we didn't know you have to go to bar to order your food, get your drinks. They call out your name and you pick up your own order. Once done, you have to clean up your own table, dishes, etc. Then they ask you to give a tip. Who should we be tipping? We did all the work!! We are paying $40.00 for two sandwiches and 2 drinks at lunch and now we have to tip someone for allowing us to do all the work. You go to a restaurant for the relaxing perk of being served. Not at this place. The food sounded so interesting on the menu. We ordered the bison burger and the pulled pork sandwiches. Each came with house made chips. The bison burger was dry and overcooked. No flavor from the actual meat. The flavor was completely due to the sauce that comes on it. The pulled pork was amazing!!! Tender, juicy and the flavor excellent!! The house made chips were clearly not made at time of order. No salt, and the parmesan cheese they put on did not stick to chips. Had the parmesan been put on when chips were fresh out of fryer, there would have been some sort of flavor to them. We had a range of partially cooked, to perfectly cooked, to burnt chips in our baskets with sandwiches. Had to ask for aioli sauce to dip chips in for any flavor. When you make your order, they start a tab. Ok, sounds fine on a Friday evening when we're drinking beer and watching sports. For lunch, we were required to start a tab not just pay for food and be done. When we were ready to leave, had to wait for awhile due to only one person working. The bartender was taking food order, making a drink order. Which was making another customer as well as us wait to be cashed out. Again, had we paid at time of order we could have just left. The bathroom is different. Both men and women use the same bathroom. Several stalls for busy weekends. Our concern having three 20 something daughters... A woman goes in bathroom , drunk guy forced her into a stall. Scary thought. Bridgette was very nice.
