There's absolutely no denying how beautiful this wedding venue is. Look at any photos online and…read morelet me tell you, it's just as wonderful in person. Of course you have the stunning view of Mt. Hood in the background, and we were lucky enough for it to be clear on our wedding day, but even on an off day if you can't see the mountain, the grounds are absolutely beautiful and so well maintained that you won't be disappointed. Most of our guests were from out of town and we got so many compliments about it being the most amazing venue they had ever been to. In fact, it took a while to get the dance floor going because people were spending so much time admiring the view and taking pictures! Starting your wedding planning journey can be so confusing and oftentimes frustrating, and finding a venue is where it really starts. Gorge Crest made the process as simple as possible, offering a full, REALISTIC event quote (including things like catering, DJ, etc.) and providing a list of mandatory vendor options. While some may find this limiting, we were pleased to know that they had vetted vendors and were so happy with everyone they recommended. Jena was always quick to respond and worked with us on our requests, including extra time in the Grooms room and letting us leave a car overnight to pack up our decorations in. The only issue we ran into was getting recurring invoices in our email that weren't meant for us... I would just recommend staying on top of what you owe them and know that you may need to remind them that they have made a mistake. Best wishes to anyone who chooses to get married here. It is a very special place.

I had an exceptional experience tasting here with my mother and partner. I will definitely be back…read more The winery itself has an absolutely amazing location. There was plenty of parking, though the road up is very steep, so make sure your E-brake is working! There are two outdoor seating areas, one just outside the main entrance, and one overlooking the river. The area overlooking the river is not open to people just tasting, but it looked like the perfect place to sit and enjoy a glass of wine. The interior tasting room (where we sat) is luxurious while still being comfortable. The ambiance of the entire place is lovely, and there is beautiful art and charming knick-knacks everywhere. I was pleased to see all of the pride flags-- it's cool to know you're drinking in a safe place. The woman pouring also let us know that the winery has a literary/witchy theme, which I thought was fun and an excellent conversation-starter. The wine was good. I like German varietals, and this place clearly knows how to do them well! The Gruner was my favorite, and we ended up getting an extra taste of the early harvest to compare to the mid-season, which was lovely. We also got an extra pour of some bubbles because someone else had ordered a glass. The woman pouring was incredibly friendly, very knowledgeable, and even had the winemaker herself come and chat with us for a moment. Tastings were $25 for a decent pour of 5 wines (though we ended up tasting 7) and they come with a little cheese/olive plate to boot! I was very impressed by the experience offered here. It seems this winery also does a number of events, which I am looking forward to attending. This was an amazing find, and I highly recommend you drive the extra 15 minutes out of Hood River/White Salmon if you are visiting to taste.

Gorgeous scenery, a $20 wine tasting, and the cutest interior with so many plants and eclectic art. Loved bringing my friends here, I'll be back! Loop De Loop is fantastic!!!…read more I stumbled upon Loop De Loop's Four Wind wine while having dinner at Anna's Table (Thank You John Z) in Cannon Beach, OR. Fast forward, we planned a stop at Loop De Loop after hiking Multnomah and Wahkeena Falls. It was one of the best surprises of the whole trip to Oregon. I expected Loop De Loop to be a small, modest vineyard and instead I discovered an absolutely stunning vineyard nestled in the picturesque hills of the Columbia Valley. I opted for the full tasting and I'm so glad I did. I really enjoyed the breadth and diversity of the wine offerings. And the wine is made organically!!! We actually enjoyed the wine and experience at Loop De Loop more than any vineyard we visited in Williamette Valley. We also tried the cheese plate and tinned fish, which were delicious. The venue has indoor and outdoor seating. I love the decor and art throughout the building. Service was really good. I dont recall the name of the young woman with red hair helping us out, but she was fantastic. This place gets pretty busy so I recommend reservations. Definitely check it out! Even if you're in Portland, it's worth the quick trek into Washington.

We visited in Aug 2025…read more For several years I have wanted to visit the Savage Grace vineyard/ winery along the Columbia River, and finally succeeded; we three visited in July 2025. The wines were the star of our experience. WINE: 5.0. The certified wine expert among us could take only 2 bottles back with her to Japan from the 11 WA and OR wineries we visited during our road trip: one of her choices was a Savage Grace Cabernet Franc. SERVICE: 4.5. Michael Savage was the sole server, and thus we were able to talk directly with the winemaker. We appreciated his unpolished explanations about the style of wines he strives for, and about his vineyards and winery. He also pointed us to a great viewpoint a few minutes away. AMBIANCE: 4.5. We sat outside next to some production equipment; somewhat rustic, and with a nice view of the Columbia Gorge.

Our family visited Savage Grace over a month ago. I wanted to take some time to formulate my…read morereview. Let me start by saying the quality of wine and the view are the only reason I gave it a 2 star review. When we arrived we were fully aware of their 2 bottle purchase policy if you do a tasting. Which you should be aware of if visiting. There was a group of 5 of us, 2 who were prepared to purchase at least 4 bottles and do the tasting, 1 who doesn't drink and wanted to see the views, and 2 designated drivers for 2 cars. First the lady asked if we had reservations which we did not. The place was nearly empty with just one other couple. She then proceeded to say before we start you let's make sure our winery is a good fit for you and then began to interrogate us about those not drinking. She tried to push smaller pours with what they call a designated driver plan for the designated drivers which we declined. Still not seated through an interrogation of our intentions, she pushed the DD plan on our 3rd person who said she felt we weren't going to get seated if she didn't accept. The tasting was super slow and took almost 2 hours. We've visited numerous wineries but this is a first where they tried to push alcohol on the designated driver. The condescending way we were greeted and treated is not worth the ok tasting wine and spectacular views. We will not be back with our next winery excursion in the Hood River area.

Love their tastings and accompanying charcuterie and food options. Always friendly and fabulous…read moreservice and delicious wines! If you like bold, get the Cabernet. Typically I visit the vineyard, but on a rainy Saturday decided to check out the downtown location on Oak Street. Even though it was close to closing, I was greeted and welcomed in by Kelsey who provided exceptional service. It's a cozy space with low lighting and lots of tables and chairs, although during these Covid days, no bar seats. There is a smaller room in the back with big comfy leather chairs and if it's available, I prefer sitting there. They offer several variations of tastings and I highly recommend the Legacy tasting for $25 that has six tastings each paired with a delicious bite. The chosen appetizers are the perfect accompaniment to each wine. For example, for the lightest they pair a skewer if prosciutto, melon and mozzarella. With a bolder red, it's sausage. And with the last tasting, the Quiver, it's a homemade dark chocolate truffle infused with Quiver wine and topped with sea salt. It's an exceptional tasting and food pairing and really allows you to fully enjoy the wine. When I visit this is the tasting option I choose and finish with a glass of Cabernet. If there with friends, we share a bottle of the Cabernet and also an order of the artichoke dip. I'm now a club member so I'm happy they have two locations and both are open every day, which is not the case with most wineries in the Hood River area. If the weather is nice, I drive out to the vineyard; but if it's cold and rainy or I'm short in time, I hit up the downtown location. For those visiting this area, try both the vineyard and the downtown locations! Same great wine, both have a cozy atmosphere and great service, but the views of Mt. Adams and the outdoor and roof covered space at the vineyard must be experienced! I bring all of my friends to Stave & Stone and two have also become members after thoroughly enjoying their wines.
