I am very happy with the service I received from Robert, here in Carrollwood. I had a squirrel invading a section of my soffit, along with a wasp issue in the same area. My soffit was hanging down in spots, and had some additional openings. The squirrel had chewed away some of the wood, so the soffit couldn't be attached to it. Robert sealed up and secured all the soffit, and improvised a fix for the missing 2X4. Then he went on and identified an another vulnerable section on the corner of the house, deconstructed the soffit and reassembled it and secured it back, fully sealed up. All work was done in a professional manner, looking like the original work. Nice and neat. He worked for over an hour in 93 degree heat. Thanks Robert for your hard work! read more

Myra (Ry) just came to our home and she is an encyclopedia of critter knowledge. My wife and I were very impressed with her professionalism combined with genuine human character reflected in relationship. She was outstanding! read more

Update, my review from 2017 was based upon a service call for a rental property and not on actually using the service. THIS review is based on using their service for a different property. We are very pleased with Critter Control, they are very professional and take the time to explain things. Highly recommend! read more

Critter Control of Tampa again shows why one should NEVER consider doing business with them. Run to another provider. We paid $4,231 for them to do about 3 hours of labor on a 30 X 45 house with about 16 areas (4' X 1') that needed screens and the front and back deck (back is under construction) Our account was turned over to collections after I have paid the full balance. To be fair, I didn't pay the 2nd half due to the poor workmanship and the trapping of a live oppossum under the house after repeated assurances that they would not seal the area that they did (it did not end well for the oppossum and her babies). We have used multiple service providers and this is absolutely the worst experience ever. Challenge is - they have $975 on credit toward future work that I will plug my nose while they do the work. Had a couple of bats in a soffit/roof area that needed to be removed. Estimator came out to the house and gave a reasonable price to remove them and add some flashing to similar soffit/roof areas but said he would also inspect the vents through my roof (qty 11). He recommended adding screening to those vents which doubled the cost. I was preparing for hip surgery at the time and thus could not get on the roof to verify his findings. So we proceeded in good faith. Now that I have recovered from surgery, I got on the roof to find that 9 of the 11 vents already had good screening on them. If I had known this I would have not had them add this and would have saved about 50% of the bill. They said they would send me pictures of the work done (back in September) and I have yet to receive them. I have talked to the office mgr and she was somewhat rude and just said it was the only way to get the warranty - end of story. Well, the bats were never in my attic and only two of these vents that needed a screen were plumbing vents. I was also told another mgr would call me. That has never happened. I feel that I was taken advantage of and would think they would work with me on the cost considering what they charged to add some unattractive white screens wrapped around my brown vents that were already screened. I could have done the same for about a tenth of what they charged but again most didn't need it. The installers (Nick & Austin) & one customer service person (Karen) were pleasant to work with but I suggest you try elsewhere. read more

Justin is my hero! Like many heros they show up when you are in need and just in time! He didn't know he would be a hero that day. He was called to assist my neighbor and I noticed his truck pull up across the street. He got out and started looking around their house. I ran out thinking surely he was looking for the poor possum who decided to die under my rose bush outside my front home office window (the one that I'm living out Covid in) just an hour earlier. No, his mission was actually a squirrel problem. But, he wasn't going to leave me in distress! He kindly suggested he could take him away for me before he left and he kept his word! I am so grateful. Personally, I hope I don't have anymore critter issues but if I do, I'm calling Justin! You should too! read more

This is the worst contractor experience of my life. They decided I had a plumbing problem and that was why there were still rats even though I had two plumbing contractors tell me there was no way that rats could come in through the plumbing. They continued to blame the plumbing and told me I had to resolve the plumbing issues which were done the same week. The plumber reaffirmed that the issue could not have caused a rat to come in. Then they refused to continue trapping till I paid the rest of what was owed. I told them when the work was completed I would pay them as I would any contractor. Then they tried to say that they had resolved all the rats and that the plumbing problems were why they came back. Sooo you can't say on one hand that if I paid the bill you would come back and keep trapping and then also tell me you had completed the work. The techs themselves are great, very nice.people but if you have a rodent problem and you want it resolved quickly, don't call these guys. read more

I can't put into words the way this company made me feel. I found a better solution and these people should be ashamed of themselves.

I had a tech appointment scheduled for a specific day. I was told the tech would call that morning between 8 and 9 to confirm the time. After no call by 9:30 I called the office and they confirmed I was on the schedule for that day. She indicated that she would call the tech right away and that she or the tech would call me right back. NO ONE EVER CALLED ME BACK AND NO TECH CAME OUT THAT DAY! I waited at home all day. I tried calling the office later that day but only got their answering service, which indicated that they would forward my request for a call back (which never happened). Don't waste your time with this 3rd rate operation. read more

I'm not sure where these bad reviews are coming from, although they're pretty old. We have had the need to use Critter Control twice in the last two years; both times they were extremely professional and efficient. This last time, our tech kept securing places in our soffit but the raccoon was pretty determined and actually pushed them open again. They finally trapped the adult raccoon, but then we realized she had babies up there. Our technician, Connor, not only deserves a medal, he deserves a raise. I couldn't have asked for better service! read more

We have had nothing but excellent service with Critter Control! We hired them initially three years ago to tackle a serious rat problem with a house in Pinellas County we had purchased. They went above and beyond to ensure the rats were eradicated, and to make sure that no new rats would make our new home their home. Since then, we have continued to use Critter Control for our quarterly pest service and rat box maintenance. The technicians that come out to my home are always friendly, knowledgeable, and show up when they say they will (which you know as a homeowner can be half the battle with any contractor). I would recommend them without reservation to anyone who needs pest control services or wildlife management! read more

Terrible. No accountability, no communication, and seriously deficient customer service. they were supposed to be treating attic for squirrels but tech showed up a week ago with rat traps and said her "paperwork" only said rats, but wouldnt call to check with the office. Placed 10 traps in attic all within 3 feet of the attic access- in my 1500 sf house. Not sure what that many traps all within a 15 foot radius are supposed to do, but what do i know- they're supposed to be the professionals, right? I talked to the office this week and was told someone would be out today to set squirrel traps. Got a call today from the same tech as before to tell me she was on her way to check the rat traps and again knew nothing about the squirrels. I asked her if she could chck back with the office (since i had already talked to them ad nauseum about the fact that they would be out to trap squirrels). The next thing i know my mother calls to tell me that the tech was at our house removing all traps and discontinuing service because i "screamed at her on the phone" and "called her names". I was utterly speechless at the things she told them i said to her. Gosh, now i wish i had actually HAD flipped out after having my very character attacked. Deserves zero stars. read more

Don't use this horrible company! They slaughter everything they get their hands on in one of the most inhumane ways possible- by gassing them. It's such a slow and inefficient way to die. This is outdated and barbaric- no one gasses animals anymore- well, maybe in third world countries. Go with a trapper or company that doesn't view animals as "pests" or "problems". Make sure they will relocate the animal. If you find injured wildlife, take it to a vet so they can humanely put the animal down with a painless injection. Or call a wildlife rehabilitator to rehab and release them elsewhere. There is no need to kill an animal just because it wandered into your yard. They are animals. It's nature. They are everywhere, they were here before us and because we came in and took over they have nowhere else to go. That's not a reason to kill them. Learn to coexist. read more

Issue with bat removal. Office staff very prompt with communication. Randy was also prompt and professional in re checking for bat intrusion. The bats returned within the year and they stood behind their warranty. Susan Harris-Neustadt read more

Critter Control did everything that was expected. Very professional. I would recommend them if you have a "critter problem".

Just like the previous review we have the same issue. Was quoted $1100 to remove rats from attic and seal up entry holes. They required $550 upfront which we paid. We had the same girl come out and set the traps at the attic entry -personally I think she's afraid to go into the attic. We've complained twice that the patches weren't done properly since the rats eat through them. We still have rats and now we have to do this ourselves since we just handed over $550 for absolutely nothing. read more

They seem pretty efficent...time will tell. They placed the traps and the squirrels we're looking for an entry but from what I saw it looked like they got turned back read more

Had a rat in the attic. They showed up with 2 rat traps I could have bought at WalMart for $10. After a week the rat was still in the attic. For this they charged $400. Total rip-off. read more

I've had a great experience with critter control. I live on Davis Islands, where we have plenty of critters. I called critter control, who sent out a tech within a day. He covered over likely access points and set bait traps as well as a full trap. They accidentally hit a sprinkler line, which was apparent when the sprinkler ran a few days later. I called, and they sent a tech that morning who repaired the sprinkler. I've had them on contract for over a year now, and find them to be professional and efficient! read more
