Some vendors had unique goods, but honestly, most of them looked like they were simply reselling clothes they bought from thrift stores. It would've been great if I would've found an old Utah shirt, but I wasn't able to find one. I did get this super cute vest for $5! Critical- Again, most of the clothes looked like they were just bought from a thrift store to be resold. Many prices weren't marked on racks. And cash only entrance, so I had to pull money out of the ATM, which costed me more than the $3 admission fee.

LIke everything else here, this area is changing, and the flea moved about two years ago. When I visited the location at the Gateway, it didn't even seem like the same market. First, they charge an admission fee. Everything is also very spread out among the gateway buildings and outside areas. Many more booths with clothing that was more flea and less vintagey. Hardly any really unique booths. A few of the older vendors you might recognize, but the vibe is just very different.

I've driven past this nursery many times but only made it in recently when they were hosting a DIY…read moreterrarium making class. It was the perfect date night-an activity and a souvenir, and priced at $5 per person (plus supplies) I felt like it was a good deal. We arrived a few minutes early and saw other attendees lurking about, a little unsure on what to do. Eventually, we found our way to the back where there were tables setup and our instructor, ready to get hands dirty. The class itself was fun-Lucas showed us different plant options as well as items to put at the bottom of our containers to provide drainage. I would have loved to have had more time with him to learn more about the specific plants, what goes well together and how to best care for them when we got home. But there were at least 20 people there, all with questions, so we did our best and had a great time! While we were there, we also perused the other products-specifically the produce-so we could eat some fresh fruit while we planted. The selection was fresh, and we took home raspberries, nectarines and apples-as well as a bottle of raspberry jam. I didn't see a TON of larger plants or things for the yard-most of what I saw was on the smaller side. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I'm sure we will be back as we grow our collection of indoor plants.

This is not your "run of the mill" toy store that you'd find in any mall across the Wasatch Front…read more No, this little corner of the Grand America Hotel is what imaginations are famous for. Of course, they have toys and candy, but look beyond that and you'll see a well-curated collection of items to delight the young and the young-at-heart. The décor and ambience left nothing to be desired. It almost looks like a set for a children's television show. If you find yourself in the area, stop by and take a stroll through the store. It will leave you wishing you were ten years old again.

Or perhaps you're a family member at a convention and need to bring home a surprise... well Jou Jou has just the thing. This is such an imaginative store that you can be lost for HOURS if you wanted to. The Giant robot, the dragon, the wall of costumes and the wall of games. The airships, all the fine work and details, I really don't think there's another store like it. There is a special wall that contains the monsters, if you walk by, some of them are activated. Some are cute, but some could be frightening. There's a tower of baby toys that smells like baby powder. it truly is something unique!
