    Great shot

This course could be great if the owners just put money into it. You'll be hitting off lots of dirt. Some fairways you'll get lost due to all the dirt. Some tee boxes you'll be hitting off a mat that was just thrown there. Golf carts are falling apart and barely run. The potential is there but owners could care less it looks like. Twilight is the way to go here best deal for conditions. Hole 17 is a great par 3 and probably the best hole here. Hole 18 is probably next.

So I decided to give Cresta Verde Golf Course a try, since my favorite courses were sold out and booked. I practiced first at the range which was ok. When I initially checked in I was told to come back for my cart about 15 minutes before tee time. After I got the cart, I could tell it was very old, cracked seats and not in great shape at all. The first hole is pretty and has a nice look to it, but that's as good as it gets for the course. Many fairways are in bad condition. Lots of dry areas, holes, and bumpy fairways. I was disappointed. However, the other golfers that were teamed up with me were lots of fun and we had a great time despite the poor conditions. The price was fair, much lower than other courses nearby, but the condition of the course explains the lower cost. Other reviewers have cited a lack of improvement, and it clearly shows. The 3 stars is being generous. But again, golfing with other golfers who enjoy the game made it a fun day.

Overall very poor conditions even for a public course. Golf carts are aging and some have trouble climbing the many hills. Holes range in condition from fair to extremely poor with areas of dirt or mulch where fairways should be. Cart paths have many bulging areas from tree roots. Course is likely fine for beginners but will be disappointing for anyone coming in with higher expectations. Layout wise there are many elevation changes that can keep things interesting but blind shots are a challenge especially when the poor fairway conditions make it hard to tell which way the hole is going.

A picturesque rolling hills with relatively well hydrated fairways and greens even with 90 degrees of intense heat inland lies a very impressive golf course in the midst of well developed community in Corona. If you take a Toll Roads Hwy 261 and 241 you can get there in thirty minutes from Irvine. The price is higher than Chico or Green River but the courses are better than the other two. You have to cross many smaller residential streets and one crossing has a golf cart crossing traffic lights for your safety. I didn't lose a ball but it's a tough course. I am definitely going back to improve my score. I am going to play smarter next time since my father beat me pretty soundly. He knows the course very well. The associated lunch diner within the proshop had decent hamburger and fries along with excellent beer selections for pretty steep prices. I paid $40 for two burgers and two beer. They have good service and friendly staffs.

Dana and I gettin in a round!

We got up early and got in a quick round today! Decided to play Creste Verde as we haven't been there in a while, not had we seen Nehee the owner! What a pleasant surprise, the course looks better than it has in years! The fairways were manicured, roughs maintained and the greens were nice accented by collars! Get this, there are Stands with distance markers at every hole as well as ball washers! Cheers gang! Keep up the good work!

First time here at CV, loved it, will def be back! The first thing that I want to mention is the staff. Wow! Lauren you are amazing! You made us feel welcomed and special, especially for our first time visit. The whole staff was super friendly, from the management, kitchen staff, to the groundskeepers, everyone was lovely. The course itself was very well maintained, a few hiccups here and there but that's part of the game. Collectively we had a great round, we enjoyed the layout and the challenges throughout the course. Thank you again for the wonderful first time experience.

Sprinklers on at almost every fairway

Our group came here for a round on Friday morning. The booking process was very standard. They release weekly on Friday mornings at 12am for the next week. Weekday mornings are $38 before noon, $35 12-2pm, $30 2-4pm. Weekends are $50 for mornings. Book directly on there website to save on fees from golfnow! They also have hot deals directly on the website for around 10:30am too. All green fees include shared carts. No you cannot get one yourself unless you have a 3 some. They won't give you cart keys until your entire group has arrived/checked in. The course itself a local course tucked between a residential neighborhood so not much traffic. There is a full driving range, chipping area, and small putting green next to the clubhouse. No they do not have a drink cart lady so pickup your beers/drinks inside the clubhouse before teeing off or on the turn. The course itself is not very difficult and good for beginners/intermediate players. It's a par 70 6065 yd off blue, 5741 white, 5236 reds. Note many holes do have very narrow fairways! There are no bunkers here either. What used to be bunkers have been filled in or grass has grown into them. The greens themselves are in great condition but very fast especially on hot days. The fairways themselves themselves are the areas that need some improvement here. YES the sprinklers are on at almost every single hole during our round. No they won't turn them off so if you hit one into the sprinklers area be ready to put on your rain gear or run through to hit quickly! Yeah we ran through and still got soaked a few times. Them sprinklers move fast! At least it was a super hot day so everything dried fast and was a nice cool off. Yep muddy puddles and randomly puddles too where the sprinklers are spraying but at least you get a free drop if you land in the puddle. Yes there are certain fairways that are completely bare hard dirt with no grass in the middle of the fairway too. The hardest hole on the course is 18th which is surrounded by water left and right of the green. At least the layout is very easy to follow and there is literally no hold up on any holes during our round. We finished our 18 holes in about 4 hours with no one ahead or behind us with a 8:32am tee time on Friday morning. There are some food items available at the bar inside the clubhouse too along with soda and beer. They do charge for $2 soda refills or even for a cup of ice. The staff overall at least were short of friendly with chitchat as we cooled off on the turn in the AC during the 90+ degree day. Overall an OK course for the price point if you're looking for cheap green fees on a weekday. For the weekend price i'd look elsewhere at similar prices for better courses. Just don't expect high quality conditions here at this super laid back course.

The boss lady that works there from the second we walked in was the most passive aggressive and rude person. We didn't feel welcome at all. Then when we made the turn we were told that we couldn't get food even though we were keeping up the pace of play. She was very condescending and confrontational. It was very off putting and put our group in a poor mood for the back nine. Greens are awful. Very patchy and rough. On the fringes there are cigarette buttFairways are bumpy and poorly cut and maintained. Tee boxes are trashed. No where to throw away broken tees. Looks like they haven't been moved in forever. The divot repair sand is more mud than sand. Carts are old and don't work very well. We had to switch out a couple carts during our round. Cart guy is super nice and helpful. Food is overpriced and poorly prepared.

I like coming here once in a while. Even though the course is aging, it still has some really stunning views and holes. The clubhouse staff are always friendly and helpful. I especially appreciate Richard Weiss and his amazing golf instruction. He is such a fun guy and effective trainer. Clubhouse food and drinks are solid.

Course was good and empty. Just need to be a little maintained. I enjoyed playing there with the nice weather and nice course layout.

Course isn't terrible for the price, what does suck is the sprinklers being on for just about every hole on the course at 3pm.

I had made it a New Year's resolution to take golf lessons and found Sonny through the PGA's Get Golf Ready program to introduce people to the game. He was great at explaining everything from stance to club grip and had a ton of useful drills that I could use to practice on my own. After the month was finished, I continued with lessons once a week for two more months at the Newport Beach Golf Club. My long game needed work (I couldn't hit too far originally), but saw improvement after our training to the point that I was ready for a game (which was my goal). We did two games as lessons where we went over all the rules, golf etiquette, club selections, etc. He always had the answers to my questions and had various ways to help with learning (filming by video, personalized drills, etc.). He even helped me figure out which golf clubs to buy in my Craigslist search. Throughout all this, he was always patient and encouraging and knew exactly what I need to fix to get the result I was looking for. Super happy now that I can play golf with a solid performance - Sonny is highly recommended whether you are just learning or looking to improve your game!

I asked for rates on group lessons. I sent an email back requesting additional information and its been over a week and no response. I guess Sonny is way too busy to take on new students. Or maybe he should just list his rates online if he doesn't want to be bothered with these questions. Anyways, I was unable to take a lessons because I couldn't even get pricing from him. There are 2 other instructors at this location so I will be reaching out to them.

The gist: I told…read moreBrandon Jones that I needed my driver to be a fairway finder. He turned my driver into a fairway finder. So very sorry, Brandon, that it's taken this long to finally post a review. I been swamped with overtime at work and not much time to do anything else. The story: Brandon asked me what exactly I was looking to accomplish with a driver fitting. I told him my distance is great but I rarely know where it's going. Especially after having lost 50lbs in 2 months my swing was just all over the place and was gaming a 65x tensei black which I think was just too much shaft for me after losing all that weight. Lost a lot of muscle mass and strength as well. Normal distance with driver is around 280 give or take but it could go anywhere and usually costs me too many strokes to contend in tournaments. I told Brandon I don't mind giving up some distance to stay in the fairway. After that initial discussion he got to work right away. It wasn't too long before we discovered a couple shafts that really tightened up my dispersion. Side note: with the weight loss my swing speed also dropped from 105+ to around 95+... sad I know. But I really wanted something I could just swing easy with and find the fairway. We ultimately went with the Ventus Blue Velocore 55 stiff and man did it do wonders. First round out with it I hit 11 fairways up from my avg of 5. The fairways that I did miss were one that I hit through the fairway on a hard dogleg right. The others were barely in the rough only a few yards and that's because I got crazy and tried to be cute and unnecessarily shape the ball. No need for that when the ball is already going to middle with very little effort. During the fitting with the ventus on, he told me to "get after one" which I did. Caught it great 293 in the fairway at 104 mph swing speed. So I could still "get after em... just not regularly. Avg swing speed down to mid to high 90s was getting me around 265 in the fairway and that's exactly what I was looking for. Given the flight that I play in on the usamtour, most holes for me, even at 265 off the tee, are still almost always driver, wedge on par 4s. Better accuracy with less effort. Brandon Jones got me just that. Thanks again, Brandon. Now if I could just stop working so much and actually play again to bring that avg up. New season starts late October so we'll see.

The course itself is a tricky, challenging layout that's fun to play once just to experience it. That said, paying over $100 (greens fees plus whatever else) for a round that dragged on for 6 hours is not worth it. The pace of play was horrible--we were constantly waiting for two groups ahead to tee off on nearly every hole. We called the marshals multiple times, but nothing improved; it felt like no one was managing the course effectively. The pro shop staff came across as indifferent and had a bit of an attitude, which didn't help the overall vibe. On a positive note, our server in the restaurant was fantastic--super friendly and attentive. Bless her heart; she was honestly the highlight of the day and probably the only thing that kept the experience from being a total wash. It's good to check this one off the list for its unique track, but there are plenty of other courses in the $100+ range that offer better pace, friendlier service, and even perks like free range balls to warm up. I'd skip this one unless you're okay with a very slow, frustrating round.
