I came here for a meeting and I didn't realize that it was donation based at check out. It's Nashville's first donation based coffee house that's been around since 2018. They are open Mon - Sat 7AM to 3PM and then Sun 8AM to 10AM. They don't have an extensive menu and mainly offer coffee. Since I don't coffee, they edited their February special white chocolate raspberry mocha to a raspberry steamed milk. I thought it was OK. I would have liked the drink a lot hotter but I understand that they were making something off menu. They had tons of plants propagated, and I thought that was really cool. I didn't get a chance to see if it was a trade and swap or if it was also donation based. I'd love to bring in some of my plants. They have their own private parking lot that I have never seen completely full. It is quiet and there's a large table that different parties can share. If you need to work and need peace and quiet, this is a great spot for you. The coffee shop is connected to the church. They have a prayer wall. The staff were friendly and when we were leaving, they said that they'd take care of the cups for us. I look forward to coming back soon! read more

I had come to this spot years ago and forgot about it, so since being more active on Yelp returned. It's in the middle of WeHo and has a rare item - a paved parking lot! It's connected to Hillcrest Community Church and was nostalgic of the basement hangs in my teen youth group. It seems like a great place for youth to meet with mentors or people who seek a darker spot to do work in to come. There is very little light inside, but plenty of space to work or do a group project. As far as coffee - it's donation based so you choose how much you want to pay. The barista couldn't tell me about their espresso beans, but the flavor was not very strong. The drinks are heavily sweet and milky and the syrup is Torani brand (which I unfortunately am not a fan of). I do not think this spot is for those of us who like our quality espresso and what would be considered boujee or more complex drinks. I was hoping to get a pastry item but there were only two and they didn't appeal to me. I think this spot has a great mission, though it's not 100% clear to the customer where their funds are going - they mentioned a few organizations they work with. I think it's primarily geared toward the community it serves and the people who are members of this church. read more

Excellent, quiet little spot. They use beans from the Well so it's good, not awesome, but good. Best part is you pay what you want. However, don't come on a Sunday, they hold a Bible study that's really loud and distracting. read more

I thought this shop was great. They did a pay what you want system for your coffee and the barista was so friendly. This is connected to a church, so if you are looking for a home church in Nashville this may be a good start. I loved hanging out here. First, we randomly googled nearby coffee on way out of town and this was the closest. We were pleasantly surprised to find this run by a church and donation based. As far as coffee, my husband thought the foam was "ridiculous," which is always a good thing. My Tazo tea is Tazo tea but the prayer wall and warmth of this place puts it over the top. Donation based coffee shop in Wedge-wood Houston. On a Saturday morning, by 1pm it was packed with college students. Plenty of parking out front. The Barista was super kind, friendly and welcoming. He even brought my tea to where I was sitting. Tip is included in the payment so make sure to add tip in when you pay. Lots of different seating options based on what you're looking for. One giant community table, several high tops, and a couch area. And for those that need less visual distraction in order to focus, there's also plenty of long tables with outlets against the wall and in the back. There were w couple of groups that were talking and I'm really not sure how the people sitting near then were able to focus. They weren't being obnoxiously loud but the noise level was rising. The entire business is based on donations. *Did you hear that?!* You can donate whatever you feel the purchase is worth. 100% of the profit over cost goes back to the community. There are plenty of sugar free options and several milk alternatives and varieties as well. It has one long community workspace table, several smaller tables and a couch area. It's an interesting spot. Pretty off-putting when you pull up (ample parking spots in their large lot). The building has no windows on the front, or in the doors. Once you make it through the door to the right of the painted-on logo you're in a nice, open space. Lots of seating (large community table, high tops, bar, couches, etc), free wifi, and outlets everywhere. If you're looking for a place to get some work done this might be your spot. When you order it's "donations only," which struck me as weird and kinda awkward. I paid $2 for a cup of coffee, thinking I could also tip but that wasn't an option...I'll pay more next time for sure. The thing that's knocking a star off my review was the coffee itself. It's just fine. Nothing worth writing home about, but you can get better coffee elsewhere. As Crest is positioning themselves in the "make a difference" space this is kinda what I was expecting (sadly). This is such a neat coffee shop concept. It is a pay what you can/want. They offer some great seasonal drinks. I got an iced matcha, and it was so great! This is a great spot on the city to work or study. They have large tables, tons of outlets, and stable wifi. I can see myself coming back for more remote work days. They have a pretty small food menu, so I wouldn't rely too heavily on it for dining. But still a great spot in the city. My friends and I tried out Crest yesterday for the first time, and we loved it! I still can't believe that this place is donation-based. We each tried a different specialty drink, and all three were delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was perfect for working, studying, or having coffee with friends. There are numerous different seating options, and they have free Wi-Fi that worked great! Their donations benefit the local community, making it even better. My family and I went their to support the local community. We arrived around 7:30am what a great atmosphere! A beautiful space for people to enjoy groups or have a spot on a pub table to do some work. The employee working at the time was extremely nice and helpful when needing an extra hand. As an opening person you do have to have "everything" ready to go at open time. (Their was no water in water container, we asked for some back door was not unlocked) Also, as a business or Non-profit whatever you want to call yourself, you HAVE TO HAVE ACCESSIBLE ENTRANCE!!! (we came in with stroller and wheelchair and their is steps in front entrance) My family and I enjoyed the time their and I believe the other guests that came in during our time at the shop enjoyed their time as well because of a great employee working at the time. Enjoyed my first visit to Crest Cafe today. It's clean, comfortable, and relaxing. There are lots of places to power-up your laptop while you work, create, and enjoy good coffee. The vibe here is wholesome and caring, not pretentious or overly busy. This is a setting where I can focus on what I'm doing! They recently opened and have a few more improvements planned. This place is great! We were staying nearby at a BnB so we thought we'd check it out. The barista was so nice and made awesome drinks. The muffins were delicious. I love this little spot and the donation based coffee is great, but I would not recommend coming here if you actually want to get work done and focus. Most customers are respectful of the people working around them, but the employees are very disrespectful, VERY loud, and rambunctious. They have a group of friends who come in while they work and talk so loud that I can't hear myself think- even with headphones in. It is a small space, so inside voices are NECESSARY, so I think it's pretty rude that the employees have no regard for their customers. It is okay to talk in a coffee shop, but yelling across the room is not appropriate. I will not be back to work here again. read more

Plenty of parking, good coffee, and donation-only. The woman behind the counter was very friendly and the menu had a wide variety of syrups. There were also a couple pastries available with a suggested $2 donation. I ordered a plain coffee, which was well-brewed. There was plenty of seating inside, as well, which is nice.
