What's on your mind? Leave a prayer request!

First, we randomly googled nearby coffee on way out of town and this was the closest. We were pleasantly surprised to find this run by a church and donation based. As far as coffee, my husband thought the foam was "ridiculous," which is always a good thing. My Tazo tea is Tazo tea but the prayer wall and warmth of this place puts it over the top. Welcoming + good coffee + local and donation based puts it over the top for me.

The coffee shop combines innovation with heart. They get their coffee from my favorite coffee roasters, Humphrey Street Coffee. The entire business is based on donations. *Did you hear that?!* You can donate whatever you feel the purchase is worth. 100% of the profit over cost goes back to the community. There are plenty of sugar free options and several milk alternatives and varieties as well. It has one long community workspace table, several smaller tables and a couch area. There are plenty of outlets around to plug in as well. This quickly became on of my new favorite spots while in town.

Cafe intermezzo falls into our lap. Unbelievable find. An oasis in the desert. Door opens a happy lady comes out with her friends and sees us looking at menu, she says "Go here. You will love it". She described a few dishes. Loved the French toast and Turkish coffee. Not sure but loving her passionate suggestion we went in. It was like walking into a cafe in Zurich Paris or Rome. Server was professional neat and polite. Menu was extensive. The classy wood paneling and nice tables were memorable. I ordered a crepe Florentine. It was savory type. It was amazing. My daughter ordered a more traditional sandwich and salad. She loved it too. There was breakfast lunch and dinner selections. Great desserts on display and being served table-side. Go to Nashville - want to change up cuisine, feel clean and relaxed. Go here. You will love it. We did.

They also made good espresso drinks. The reason I am giving 3 stars are for 3 main reasons. A) The front of the cafe smells like the sewer - incredibly unappetizing when you walk in or out. B) Our waitress messed up our order. She forgot to bring a Diet Coke. When we questioned her for it, she brought a regular coke instead of a Diet Coke. She then left the regular Coke and still charged us for the Diet Coke. C) There were 4 open tables around us. I had brought a chair next to us for us to put our purses on (they would not stay hanging on the bistro chair due to the rounded back). She told me she needed that chair "because she was planning on filling all the tables." The tables were never filled before we left and I had to cover my purse with my napkin throughout my meal.

Initially I ordered it hot but my partner corrected me by saying that the cold foam would just melt right away defeating the purpose of the cold foam. The barista also agreed. So if your ordering a drink with cold foam. I would recommend getting it iced to have the full experience! The drink itself was very unique. They have coffee and tea options. For food they have a few pastries and also some more substantial items that are made to order. We got the pistachio date and blueberry earl grey latte. The pistachio date comes with homemade pistachio milk, date syrup, and sea salt cold foam. The earl grey is earl grey syrup with a blueberry foam. I added an extra shot to the earl grey. The drinks were tooth ackingly sweet. I'd ask for at least half sweet if I ever went back. That being said the flavor was what they said and they were unique. Prices are pretty high I ended up paying almost $20 for both drinks. The earl grey with an extra shot was $9.7 before tip for a regular size, not large.
