I just had my first experience here with my roomate. We shared charcuterie, olives,…read more focaccia grilled cheese with apple butter, and a jasmine green ferment. It was superb. So much food came out that our plan at a midday snack became our dinner. Half of the grilled cheese made its way back home. I especially liked the Brie, whipped ricotta, and speck on the charcuterie board. The grilled cheese was perfectly balanced with the apple butter and mustard as well. We also got roasted red peppers as a surprise. Those and the olives were again, superb! We ate in the dead of winter, and left fully warmed by our meal. I can imagine the ambiance in the summer to be delightful when they open their outdoor patio! One thing to note if it's your first time. We sat ourselves and ordered at a register for our food. It was brought to us by friendly staff. Afterwards we bussed our glassware and left our plates.

Not only is this wine bar like going into a dreamland, with fairy lights twinkling, and luscious plants and flowers, but the service is superb. Did I mention the exquisite ceiling tiles and the exposed brick? An architectural feast for the eyes! For a delightfully palatable, chic experience, this is the Jardín of eden!

The pulled pork had no flavor at all until you added the hot sauce that was on the table. If you don't want hot sauce, you just get to eat plain white bread pulled pork. (The hot sauce was maybe the best thing on the table besides the black beans...) Every single damn dish was covered in chopped sweet peppers; completely unnecessary and what are they trying to hide? Couldn't even taste the empanadillas because they had so much crema all over them...that should be on the side so we could actually taste the food . The steak was OK (not Cuban in any recognizable way) but the very smallest portion possible....for a "special" that we paid extra for, we expected it to be special in some way. And the platanos...THE PLATANOS...super over-fried and dry as a bone with no flavor, no salt, no nothing. We left a huge dish of them on the table. The key lime tart barely had any lime flavor. The flan was lumpy! The "tres leches" cake is just plain yellow sheet cake with simple marshmallow frosting. WTAF We drove an hour each way and promised guests great Cuban food, only to be disappointed and, frankly, super embarrassed.
