I'll be forever thankful to the friend who recommended the Crescent to me. While I booked too late to get a room on the 'first floor' (the second floor to North Americans), I was very comfortable in my third floor room, which had a lovely view of the tiny green space in front of the hotel. (But this is not the hotel for people with huge suitcases. I'm not certain how they could be brought up the very narrow flight of stairs to the third floor.)
My single room was exactly as promised: small, clean, and bright, with a desk, kettle (no coffee maker), TV, sink, mirror, and a strong WiFi signal.
The hotel staff were very helpful and the breakfast room, tucked in a corner of the basement, was cramped but charming. And the breakfast was very hardy.
Finally, the neighbourhood couldn't be more convenient, the hotel is a short walk from the Russell Square, Euston, and King's Cross St Pancras Underground stations. There's also a post office, laundromat, news agent, grocery store, drug store, and multiple restaurants and convenience stores. read more
