My family and I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at the St Athens Hotel, and I must say it was an absolute disappointment from start to finish. I hope this review serves as a warning to others considering staying at this establishment.
Firstly, upon check-in, the staff showed a complete lack of professionalism and courtesy. They were unhelpful, rude, and seemed disinterested in providing any level of customer service. Their indifferent attitude left a lasting negative impression right from the beginning.
Moving on to the room itself, it was far from the advertised experience. The room was outdated, shabby, and poorly maintained. TV not working. We notified staff but no action were taken. The furniture was worn out, the carpet looked filthy, and the walls had noticeable stains. No AC in room The overall cleanliness left a lot to be desired, with dust and dirt evident in various corners of the room.
Furthermore, the bed was uncomfortable, with sagging mattresses and lumpy pillows. I could hardly get a good night's sleep due to the poor quality of bedding. The sound insulation was nonexistent, as I could hear every noise from neighboring rooms, hallway conversations, and even street traffic. It was impossible to relax or unwind in such an environment.
The shred bathroom was equally disappointing. The fixtures were old and barely functional, with inconsistent water pressure and lukewarm water at best. The lack of proper maintenance was evident, as the showerhead was clogged and the tiles had mold and mildew.
Additionally, the amenities promised by the hotel were either non-existent or in a dire state.
Overall, my experience at the St Athens Hotel was extremely disappointing. The lack of professionalism from the staff, the dilapidated state of the room, the poor amenities, and the inconvenient location all contributed to an unpleasant stay. I strongly advise others to steer clear of this hotel and seek alternative accommodations in London. read more
