My wife found these folks a couple of weeks ago to replace the circa-1963-decrepit-iron railing in our home with something that's more modern. She contacted several companies, and ultimately went with these guys because she felt they were up front and the cost was reasonable. IIRC, she dealt with a gentleman by the name of Aiden who stopped by to formulate the estimate, and then Justin who was our installer. Long story long: they promised delivery of parts in about 4 weeks, and install in about 7 hours which was fine with us. The parts got here in about a week, they offered to get moving two days later, and the install was done in 5 hours. Next, I'm pretty well versed on construction (I've done plenty of large scale renovation projects myself at times, with my own hands... so... I know good and bad work). Midway after the install started, the installer did mentioned he has an issue with cable placement. He politely said I probably wouldn't notice it, but he wanted to let me know anyway and his proposed work-around. Once he briefed me, I did suggest an alternative correction method that I would prefer. He said "no problem... I'll make it work". And he did. That pretty much sums up dealing with them. Flexible, good work, efficient, and definitely courteous. On the bad side... I can't recognize our foyer anymore... I thought I walked into our neighbors house when I first saw the new railing... Cregger just did a wire cable system railing project on our patio that looks incredible. I enjoyed the mobile showroom to see samples of the finished products. The crew showed up on time, did great work and cleaned up when complete. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. read more

IF I COULD GIVE 0 STARS I WOULD. I am not sure what happened to this company but the management and sales team are horrible.  I will start from the beginning. I had a full bannister installed in 2017 with no issues. I even referred two of my neighbors who had new bannisters installed their homes.  Recently I decided to modify/upgrade my bannister by adding an additional railing. On July 12, 2021, James (Salesman) came to my residence to review/discuss what I wanted as a project and assured me it could be completed.  I did not actually receive the cost estimate until August 18, 2021.  The estimate included a wall removal, drywall replacement, railing installation, and ceiling repairs to ensure both sides of the bannisters were uniform. Prior to the project starting, I requested more details in the contract to ensure everything was going to be done correctly. James continued to reassure me that there would be no issues and I needed to make a deposit to be placed on the schedule.  On September 14, 2021, the project started and the installer showed up with All the Wrong Material. The installer notified James and an unknown manager of the issue and on September 16, 2021, James attempted to get me to sign a modified contract for a piece of drywall (3.5 inches wide by 3 feet long), which increased the price by $668.00, but I declined. The installer retuned to my home on September 30, 2021, to complete the work however no dry was provided and a hole was left in my hard floor from where the wall was removed. This was not a big project and the banister was only 5ft long. I am currently in the process of hiring another contractor to finish the job After dealing with the previously stated issues, I have yet to receive a call from James or any manager to ensure I was satisfied with the work; however, I did receive a call from the finance office for the full payment!  Although Cregger Construction portrays themselves as this great company, their customer service is HORRIBLE.  The only person that showed any empathy to this situation was the person that took my payment!!  If you decide to use this company, PLEASE BE AWARE they may INFLATE pricing on the back end. I find this to be unethical and predatory. PLEASE BE CAUTIOUS WHEN WORKING WITH THIS COMPANY. At no time did anyone Cregger Construction try to make the situation right but wanted to increase my price. read more

I really thought this company would live up to their photos. However their terrible customer service as well as dependability is more than lacking. I requested a quote back on May 11th and did not receive the quote till a month later on June 2nd despite checking in multiple times. No response. This made us consider other options. However after seeing a friends stair railings that they installed we reconsidered. This time they were quick and responsive. After putting down a deposit to be scheduled I got a call about a week later. This gave us hopes that we would finally get the railings we have desperately needed. Especially after having a newborn in the house and needing them for safety to go up and down the stairs. Sadly the day came for install. I was told 8-9am arrival. At 10:30am I called and asked if they were still coming. I took off from work for this install. Time I have limited of due to the newborn. I also had friends come over to move stuff out from my storage underneath the stairs as they stated they would need access. I was informed my date of install had been changed. Never was I called to confirm this new date or about the rescheduling. I am not out of money from this and their only response was "I'm very sorry." I requested a call from the manager Chuck but have yet to hear from him and from other reviews I doubt i will. The project manager (who was just hired) stated they have let some of their staff go and tried to state that was why this occurred. Also why the quote issue occurred before. However as the customer that issue has nothing to do with me. They have cost me time, money, and now even more time to be off for another date. At this point I will be pursuing to get my deposit back. This company is anything but professional. I would not recommend them. They do not look out for the customer or seem to care. Had a staircase installed, finished product was very nice looking. However, after about 2 months the ballasters began to come loose and fall out. Upon inspection they had been cut too short and they were being held in with large amounts of carpenters glue. Contacted their office and recieved a response from Nikki that they would come to repair the issues. The day they were scheduled to be there they were a no show. Tried calling but never got an answer nor returns to my call. Reached out to Nikki again through email and was told that they were held up on another project and we rescheduled. Day 2 came and went with a no show. No answers to calls. Sent several emails, recieved an email response several days later from Nikki apologizing and saying that she would get back to me for rescheduling. That was the last I ever heard from Cregger Construction despite many continued attempts. I would highly not recommend any company that won't stand behind their workmanship or honor their warranty. read more

I am very unsatisfied with the service I received from Cregger Construction. They were listed on the Houzz as a pro. I contacted them on June 4th, I was in communication with Abby. She requested pictures of my current railing system which I sent to the following email address abby@creggerconstruction.com. Abby said she would need to come and take measurements at my home in Bowie MD. She came out on June 8th. When she left Abby advise me that she would email or call with appointment details to install rails. I called and followed up on June 13th with Abby around 5pm. When I spoke to her she promised to send email when she got home of cost and details as such. I received nothing!! no phone call no email!!. I called the office instead of calling Abby cell phone. Another employee answers the phone I requested to speak to Chuck the owner or if Abby had arrive. She stated she could take a message and someone will contact me today. Keep in mind today is June 18th, The same young lady who answered the phone called me back at 12:42pm to tell me that they don't cover my service area. WHATTTTTT!!! This should have been disclose in the beginning instead of wasting my time and it took three weeks to tell me this. I wouldn't recommend this company they are very unprofessional and horrible with follow-ups. As a member of the Military I take pride in integrity and credo of companies I am very disappointed. read more
