The setting is gorgeous--towering trees, peaceful forest trails, and a dog-friendly play/agility area that our pup loved. The sites are level and full hook-up, and the grounds are spotless and well maintained. We enjoyed wandering the Cat's Eye Trail at night, spotting glowing eyes along the way--it was such a fun and unique touch. We would happily stay again.

Everyone who works there is warm and friendly and helpful. The property, including Mill Creek, is beautiful. It's a great place to connect with Nature with the comforts of a rustic resort with cabins with comfortable beds and full kitchens, glamping or camping. I think it's a plus that there are no TVs or WIFI. I'm already planning my next trip there.

The owners were very helpful getting us registered for exactly our needs and made us feel so welcome on our arrival. The bathrooms including shower were super clean and comfortable. The many trails in the large campground were a pleasant surprise and were great for tiring out out travel weary dogs. The hookups were easy to access and well marked.We also didn't even need to get out our leveling blocks. We will definitely be back.

My husband surprised me by getting us a reservation at this place and I couldn't have been more…read morepleasantly surprised. It was so cute, as we pulled into the park there were about 10-15 colorful train cars and cabooses. Each one was your "room" for the night, and you parked along side of it. They were super cute inside! All wood, several windows, large bed, nice sized bathroom and decorated with train pictures. The park was really clean with lots of families biking, playing in the pool, or just walking around the park.

Our kids were bummed when I told them it was just us. I felt guilty seeing their pouting faces, so our reservation for two became one for four. Burney falls was so mesmerizing, I'm glad we brought our kids. I love waterfalls and being outside in the warm Summer months hiking or camping. We lucked out and were there right before the area was shut down for the fires nearby. We were pleasantly surprised that there were cabins and hookups for RVs right there in the park. We totally could have brought our RV instead of staying in town. It's a small town and if you have never visited a small town with any stop lights, you wouldn't understand where I'm going with this analogy. Lol! Iykyk! We had a great time and do look forward to making our way back to do some more hiking and camping. This park is a must see and a family friendly hike to get to the falls! Fun fact: Burney Falls is never dry, 100 million gallons flow daily, so no matter what time of year you visit there will be flow.

I would highly recommend staying here in either the Cottages or the Hotel (we stayed 2 nights in the Cottage and an extra night at the Hotel). The service was incredible (special thank you to Dan the bartender) and the hotel itself is welcoming, clean, charming and gorgeous. We will be back. And if you are camping or staying somewhere else, the restaurant here is a must!

I stayed at the RV park and have nothing but WONDERFUL things to say about my stay! As any RV-owner…read moreknows, problems with your rig is inevitable. Unfortunately for myself, during my stay here I ended up having internal electrical problems (absolutely NO fault from the campground). I have Tmobile, which means you will not have service for calls, only "satellite texting" available, if you have that plan. The RV park also has no wifi. However, that wouldn't be an issue...if my rig was working properly. Fortunately for us, Kari helped us out!!! Not only did she let us use her phone to make a bunch of phone calls for mobile mechanics, but she let us connect to the business wifi so we could use our phones to research solutions while at the office. She was SO kind, understanding, and willing to help in anyway she could. Even though we arrived with all sorts of problems, she went above and beyond to make sure we were kept warm and happy. Now for the RV park itself...it is located in the BEAUTIFUL Childs Meadow. Just a few minutes away from Lassen Volcanic National Park's entrance and visitor center. The prices were extremely fair. Full hookups around here were a gem to find. Franks (the restaurant directly in front of the RV park) had the friendliest staff who made us feel welcomed immediately, with a nice selection of comfort foods available. We also ate across the street at the nice sit-down restaurant and WOW it's a must! It was so good we went back twice for dinner. If you are looking for a BEAUTIFUL area in the woods, with the kindest staff, and best amenities around for the location and price, then The Village at Highlands Ranch (RV Park) is highly recommended!
