What a gem! Highly recommend this campground. The sites are very large and access for back in or pull-through spots are well placed and very well thought out. Owner was very nice and the grounds are extremely clean. My family and I will be back to this oasis in the mountains. Recommend hiking the rainbow trail to the west end of the property just before sunset. You will find a private table and a view that you will never forget.

Awesomeness. This is our newest favorite campground. Oak woodland. Swimming pool. Many hiking trails. Volleyball court. I was a little suspicious of the advertising claiming their "packed gravel" RV pads were level. But when I backed in and checked my gauges, it was spot on! Only twice in my camping career have I not had to level my rig. This was number two. (Site 34) The staff is friendly, attentive, helpful and courteous. Wi-Fi is free, and can be upgraded to "streaming level" for a few bucks a day. Camp showers are free, and the facilities are clean. But best of all?? The campsites are the biggest, most generously proportioned I have yet seen, many with no close by neighbors, they have sixty five acres, and could cram in hundreds more sites, but the owners choose to give privacy and space the priority. We will definitely return next time we are going to Lassen or Shasta. (About 45 miles to either if I remember correct) Here are some pictures of our neighbors from our campsite...

Beautiful, tranquil, and artsy RV park on the border of Lassen and Shasta counties. I came for an extended stay and was able to work remotely, take my dog on the many trails (68 acre property), go on excursions, and enjoy peace and quiet. Ben and Danelle take pride in the campground and have a pretty cool vision around art and nature. This is a welcoming and safe environment. #rainbows Amenities and nearby services: There is a market where you can get most groceries, post office, and gas station about 15 minutes away. 35 minutes to a Safeway. Laundry facilities on site ($1.50). Buy ice and various RV/camping accessories in the main office. Hookups are straightforward, no electricity miswiring. Bathrooms are clean, inviting, and well lit. Spacious and near level dirt and gravel sites - you won't feel crammed in or like you're in a parking lot. The wifi is awesome. I was in site 2, close to the main building, and I paid for premium service ($25/mo.). I could do Zoom calls, stream movies, etc. In the summer, a gifted massage therapist comes by for on-site massages. You can go into town during off-season. It's worth it, I promise. Dog friendly (on leash). Remember, this is the wild (I hear coyotes at night) and you'll want to keep your furry kiddos nearby. Recommendations: Watch a sunset over the valley - stunning views when the air quality is good. Catch the trail near the badminton nets. Walk or bike the game trails and search for art in the forest. Go to Burney Falls (about 40 min drive). Pick up fresh eggs, produce, and jam at the local farm stand. Get a massage from Chris. I recommend this campground for families, solo travelers, long term and short term.

An unusual work of art you'll discover as you hike on the trails in the resort.

This is an extraordinary RV Resort run by extraordinary people. It is spacious, so that you're not on top of your neighbors. It has full facilities, both at each site and in the public spaces. It is fun, with uplifting art and messages on its multiple trails around the 60+ acre property. The emphasis on inclusiveness also resonated deeply with me. In sum, it's the best place we have encountered so far on this long journey, and I don't expect to find better. We'll be back, and likely for a longer stay than we had this time. There's so much to explore in this region -- we only scratched the surface!

This was such a restful space. Site was easy to pull-thru with plenty of room to park the truck. We have a big rig with 3 slides. Lots of room. Plenty of trails to walk, Art to look at and just a great place to be out in nature. The restrooms were clean and a nice laundry. Will very likely come again.

This is definitely a hidden gem! The reason for the 4 stars is the lack of shade at the camp sites which is uncontrollable. Well kept grounds and the bathroom/showers are clean since most people are in their rv and trailers. The sites are well spaced apart also. We loved the pool and definitely enjoyed it everyday during this heat wave. I would recommend doing the Rainbow trail for the sunset. We rode our bikes on another trail but couldn't remember the name. The paths are dusty. Bring lots of bug spray.

Huge spacious resort! Stopped by here twice. First time was on our road trip visiting national parks. We stopped here after visiting Lassen National Park. We normally don't stay in RV parks since we do tent camping, however all of the sites were very spacious so our tent was not right next to an RV. The bathrooms were extremely clean-you don't normally see bathrooms like these at a campground! No light pollution around-so perfect area to star gaze. Speaking of no light pollution...about a 20 min drive to town. They have some snacks and supplies to buy in the office, but if you have to drive into town, it's not right down the street. The owners were very friendly and personable. We told them about our trip to Lassen and that we were on our way up to Crater lake next. They mentioned Burney falls that wasn't on our list, so figured our next trip through here we would check it out. This second time around it was a little busier, more kids in the pool, and now they had their restaurant open. It's only open for dinner Sunday and Monday, but the menu did look reasonable and delicious. If you like the outdoors and nature, this is the spot for you. Spacious sites, clean bathrooms, near the falls and the parks, and a great area for dogs. Great friendly owners

The premium sites are spacious and have nice fire pits and tables.

Lassen RV Resort is hands down the nicest RV park in the Burney/Fall River area. Driving in, you'll get a stunning panoramic view of Mt. Lassen, Mt. Shasta and the Fall River Valley. The park is tucked away, far from the highway, so it's nice and quiet. At night you might hear coyotes yipping in the distance. The grounds are well maintained and the park is full of beautiful oak trees. The pool is an nice treat on a hot day. The owners, Ben and Danelle, are a friendly and family-oriented couple that will make you feel welcome and at home during your stay. This place is an absolute gem!

Stayed here for a week, and it still wasn't long enough! This was a great experience. Great friendly staff, fellow guests were great as well. Sites were spacious and well kept. Resort had a nice vibe to it. We will definitely be back.

They have a gift shop that sells softserve icecream so we grabbed one of those and talked to the store clerk who also runs the marina where he explained the boating and kayaking options, fishing, etc. Afterwards we hiked the paved path down to the falls. The path has an incline and is wet in some areas so exercise caution as we saw someone fall and bust her knee open. The falls are so beautiful from every angle, and very worth the trip! After taking a ton of photos we walked on another path that took us to a cool bridge crossing the river. Then headed over to the marina area and rented a kayak for 4 hours for $85, which is great price honestly. The guy at the boat rental area was very nice and accomodating. The sun was out in full force so take your sunscreen! We fished and caught a few small mouth bass but nothing we could keep. After we turned in our kayaks we found a picnic area and grilled up some food. Overall we really enjoyed our day at this park and highly recommend!!

The site has a picnic bench and a bear box as well as a fire pit. The site was pretty spacious and fairly clean. I also like that the sites aren't super close together so you feel like you have some breathing space from your neighbors. The potable water faucet was also a short walk away (next to the toilets). My only gripe is that the vault toilets weren't cleaned out daily. We stayed here for 3 days/2 nights and they weren't cleaned out at all. Even though the campground was full, it was quiet, and I felt weird about plugging in my phone with my engine on for a few hours, but I needed have power for the hikes in the morning. Instead of staking the fly open, I staked one in the middle giving me a front door and holding down the tarp in case of wind or rain. If it rains, water will puddle, so look for a convex footprint with your head uphill. Never forget the importance of coverage, even if you don't think it is going to rain. Although water is one of the 10 ways to find magic on the trail, water on dry blankets can drench your sweet dreams. Two nights of chill became a little more rowdy by the weekend and the center campsite became an out-of-school reunion on bikes, scooters and wilderness walks. I love camping during the summer and if you don't like families, I don't recommend you camp in popular areas. When the rain started, it was dinner time and most of the families had retreated to campers, so all I could hear was the pounding droplets on my tent. After a full day of hiking, I was tired and screwed together the JetBoil and gas I picked up from REI for this trip. In less than 5 minutes I was slurping Cup of Noodles, which kept me warm even without the fire. Before it got dark, I escaped away to the secret water hole named for the camp I was staying. With no one else around, I took a breath and looked for the light. It started to sprinkle, and I found myself star-struck by the beauty I could create in my life on my own. Each from the parking lot only take a few minutes hike to see the Falls, although we didn't go to the bottom of the upper falls, but we could see some. The lower falls where many people swim, or like us, sit on the rocks to feel the water gushing through rocks very nice. McCloud and Burney Falls (an hour away) make the best one-two punch for waterfalls outside Yosemite. However, unlike Burney Falls, McCloud Falls has lots of free parking and no entrance fee because it is not a state park. Upper Falls is the least dramatic. An ADA-accessible trail leads to an observation deck about 90 feet above the falls. The fact that people were waiting efficiently in a line to take a photo was more exciting for me than the falls itself. Plus, it is a bit strange looking down on waterfalls. Stupid waterfalls. Anyhow, of the three locations Upper Falls offers a quieter environment, ideal for relaxation and reflection, especially if the water is still. Lower Falls was the most chaotic, with two lanes of parking lot traffic on a one-way road, and more kids sprawling the river for swimming. The area, stocked with trout, seemed the more picnic and day trippy of the falls, the best place to eat your lunch. Middle Falls is the money shot. The postcard. The one that has people posing for hours for the 'Gram. This is because it's 50 feet high and over 100 feet wide, creating a curtain of water over a basalt cliff into a pool below. McCloud Falls deserves its own Yelp page--lumping it in with a generic "McCloud River" listing is like posting Niagara Falls under the Niagara River. Come on now. Together, McCloud Falls and Burney Falls (just an hour apart) make the best one-two punch for waterfall chasers outside of Yosemite. But unlike Burney Falls, located in a state park that charges an entrance fee, McCloud Falls offers something rare and beautiful: lots of free parking and zero entrance fees. My favorite kind of waterfalls are free. Upper Falls is the least dramatic of the trio. A well-maintained ADA-accessible trail leads to an observation deck perched about 90 feet above the falls. Ironically, the orderly line of people waiting to snap a photo was more thrilling than the waterfall itself. Also, there's something a little odd about looking down on a waterfall. Stupid waterfalls. That said, Upper Falls is the most peaceful and serene, making it perfect for quiet moments of reflection--especially when the water is still. Lower Falls is the more chaotic of the trio, with two lanes of traffic trying to share a narrow one-way road, while kids are sprawled across the banks of a rushing, whitewater river. The area, stocked with trout, feels tailor-made for picnics and day trips--the kind of place where sandwiches taste better for no logical reason. Middle Falls is the showstopper. The money shot. The backdrop of annoying Instagram photo sessions. At 50 feet high and over 100 feet wide, it sends a dramatic curtain of water spilling over a basalt cliff into a pool below, with summer crowds climbing the shoreline boulders and wading into the 42 degree water just to ruin your pictures. I had to edit out so many people, they should call them McPhotoshop Falls.
