We loved our stay at Mill Creek Resort. The cabin was cozy, the property is beautiful, and fishing the creek was such a highlight. A peaceful and relaxing getaway. We will definitely be back.

We absolutely loved this place. The cabins were very clean, comfortable and equipped with everything we needed. We enjoyed the grounds sitting at night in front of a fire listening to a creek as we watch the deer graze on their grounds. We loved how quiet and peaceful it was yet the cabins and campgrounds were full of guests. It was dog friendly as long as they were on a leash which I liked. I would definitely enjoy this place several more times this year.

Deer I saw in the campground area.

This campground is one that I highly recommend. Clean bathrooms with flush toilets and showers. The campground itself is well-maintained and, if you have any needs, you can call the campground office or knock on the door to the general store (which is currently closed due to the staffing shortage that is affecting businesses everywhere. That said, there is a general store 3 minutes away that carries everything you would expect). This was my second time staying here and I'll be back.

One of the best campgrounds i've stayed at! It's close to the park and easy to get there and back. Check in for the campground is easy (you just show up), they have ice and wood available out front! It is sooo nice and so pretty! There were cute small touches like a welcome board with your name out front and decorative signs around the campground. There's a ton of water stouts and the water tastes great. It was also very nice to have a shower available and running water to wash my face. People at the camp ground were really nice and respectful, and it was really quiet each night (granted i was there during the week and chose the camp spots towards the lower loop so i knew it'd be quieter). And all of the trees keep the campground quite cool! Would highly recommend to anyone going to visit the area/park. Notes: there is service but very minimal (this didn't matter much to me), but you can go about a mile up the road for better service. There is no gas in the direct area of the camp or the park. So plan ahead for that.

Our first time staying at MCR, but definitely not our last. We're already planning our return. I hesitate to gush about the place, for fear I won't get a reservation next time. It's a hidden gem. We were the only people staying this weekend, I think, since we didn't see anyone else. Our cabin was fully stocked with everything you will need to stay. We brought our own food in and cooked in. A big plus for us is that it is pet friendly. A short walk out your front door, and a snowy trail to walk the dogs and let them play in the snow. A full box of wood and we settled in for a long weekend. We were a bit skeptical about no wi-fi or tv when we made the reservation, but we were both extremely happy without either. No phone calls, texts or emails! We were able to unplug and unwind. What a treat. We all had a fantastic time. Wonderful to wake up to 8" inches of fresh powder. Can't wait to visit again. Thank you MCR!

Amazing, beautiful, quiet, and did I mention amazing resort! This resort is a hidden gem that more people need to know about. From the moment we arrived we were in such awe of the beautiful scenery. We rented cabin 10, it was so clean and perfect for a family of 5. You do not need to check in, the key is already waiting for you when you arrive, the windows are all open and the fresh air in the cabin was so refreshing. They have a grill, fire pit, nice little patio and for the most part everything you will need inside the cabin. The resort has a small playground for the kids, which they loved. There is little to no service, so get ready to disconnect and enjoy what life has to offer. The resort has a few trails and one of them leads down to the river. The groundskeepers were pleasant and willing to help if needed. Overall we will be going back to enjoy what this beautiful place has to offer.

Booked this place last minute while visiting Lassen National Park. We stopped in the restaurant for a cold brewzkie & Zach Fiore was the most friendliest dude helping us. We totally recommend this place to anyone stopping by this area. The cabin is fully equipped with everything you need to cook & the restaurant/store has all your basic necessities. We were in cabin #4 w/ 2 beds in separate rooms. The owners Joe & Jilian definitely put allot of thought decorating it. Quality bedding & bathroom towels. Had to cut our trip short cause I got sick with a bronchial infection. We're definitely coming back to finish Lassen Peak & the Cinder Cone. We are happy satisfied folks. Definitely exceeded our expectations. Hugs, Luke & Joanna Perez Southern California Thank You,

Ask the Community - Mill Creek Resort

Is the restaurant closed?

Hopefully only this season due to staffing issues. You can still buy wood at the main building. If you head toward Chester, there is a restaurant pretty close to Mill Creek. The owners said it was pretty good! Good luck.

Is there indoor seating?

No indoor seating, unless you count being in the cabin, yurt, or RV that you stay in. Mill Creek Resort store and restaurant closed for the time being. However, we hit "Frank's" just down the road and around the corner, next to the general store,… Read more

There were tampons in two different shower stalls left there for 3 days I went to the Manzanita general store to complain but nothing was done other than the typical, "we will inform management. I took pictures of the showers when no one was there.

It wasn't too far from the restrooms and trash either. The drinking water was just across from us and compared to a state park or national park campground, it was pretty quiet. There is a paved hiking trail to Lake Almanor just across the entrance from the South Campground. On an early morning, I took a jog with my 1-year-old while the others were still snoozing and the weather was just perfect at 8:30 AM. Although I found that even for early July, it can get a bit cold in the early morning (1 AM-8 AM) in the tent. So pack extra blankets. There are no showers here, so you will have to find them somewhere else. Overall, this is a great spot to camp if you plan to go to Mount Lassen National Park or surrounding areas. There is a lot of space for the whole family at your campsite.

They have a gift shop that sells softserve icecream so we grabbed one of those and talked to the store clerk who also runs the marina where he explained the boating and kayaking options, fishing, etc. Afterwards we hiked the paved path down to the falls. The path has an incline and is wet in some areas so exercise caution as we saw someone fall and bust her knee open. The falls are so beautiful from every angle, and very worth the trip! After taking a ton of photos we walked on another path that took us to a cool bridge crossing the river. Then headed over to the marina area and rented a kayak for 4 hours for $85, which is great price honestly. The guy at the boat rental area was very nice and accomodating. The sun was out in full force so take your sunscreen! We fished and caught a few small mouth bass but nothing we could keep. After we turned in our kayaks we found a picnic area and grilled up some food. Overall we really enjoyed our day at this park and highly recommend!!
