Also, the camp grounds are on top of each other and they don't enforce the leash rule for dogs in camp. I had aggressive neighbor dogs invade our camp and they continued to leave them unleashed. Didn't have a bad experience with the management as I didn't have a reason to talk to them. Overall, I have a negative opinion of this camp and won't be back.

The rocks are along the water in a good portion of the spots around the lake. We camped over the 4th of July holiday and found there to be only a few issues that didn't make the stay a complete hit. The spiders in the area were so bad. Harmless, but man, everything seemed to get spiders on it, and we brought some home. The power was out one night until midnight and then the campground cut power around 3:00 until 7:00ish a few of the days. We took the full hookups seriously and didn't bring a backup generator. We highly suggest brining one or solar panels to get you by during the extra hot portions of the day. Also, an additional note. They offer tent spots and cabins at North Shore Campground. We had access to one of the cabins during our stay, which were very nice.

Even at 9p it felt like she was waiting for us. She showed us our cabin and answered a couple of questions we had. The cabins are nice. They felt newer, the bedding was warmer than I anticipated, so the comforter and pillow I brought I really didn't need. There's heaters in the rooms, and some of the cabins have ac. They have a small fridge/freezer that works, a 3 burner stove with a kettle and some basic cookware along with plates utensils etc. it was a little get away for us and Debbie and the other host let us borrow his personal little fire box so we could have a nice little fire while we sat on the porch and took in the beautiful view. There's a common area too that had some games like horseshoes and maybe lawn darts, we didn't use it. There's a little bbq grill in the back too. Is a convenient spot on the north side of the lake that still feels quiet compared to some other places we've stayed. I'd highly recommend coming here and look forward to our next time we come visit.

I would highly recommend staying here in either the Cottages or the Hotel (we stayed 2 nights in the Cottage and an extra night at the Hotel). The service was incredible (special thank you to Dan the bartender) and the hotel itself is welcoming, clean, charming and gorgeous. We will be back. And if you are camping or staying somewhere else, the restaurant here is a must!

Unfortunately for myself, during my stay here I ended up having internal electrical problems (absolutely NO fault from the campground). I have Tmobile, which means you will not have service for calls, only "satellite texting" available, if you have that plan. The RV park also has no wifi. However, that wouldn't be an issue...if my rig was working properly. Fortunately for us, Kari helped us out!!! Not only did she let us use her phone to make a bunch of phone calls for mobile mechanics, but she let us connect to the business wifi so we could use our phones to research solutions while at the office. She was SO kind, understanding, and willing to help in anyway she could. Even though we arrived with all sorts of problems, she went above and beyond to make sure we were kept warm and happy. Now for the RV park itself...it is located in the BEAUTIFUL Childs Meadow. Just a few minutes away from Lassen Volcanic National Park's entrance and visitor center. The prices were extremely fair. Full hookups around here were a gem to find. Franks (the restaurant directly in front of the RV park) had the friendliest staff who made us feel welcomed immediately, with a nice selection of comfort foods available. We also ate across the street at the nice sit-down restaurant and WOW it's a must! It was so good we went back twice for dinner. If you are looking for a BEAUTIFUL area in the woods, with the kindest staff, and best amenities around for the location and price, then The Village at Highlands Ranch (RV Park) is highly recommended!
