Store is stocked with beauty items including haircare, facial skincare, bath and body and cosmetics. Staff is helpful and friendly. This is a one stop shop for self care items with Clean Ingredients. They have very strict guidelines regarding these standards and only products that meet these requirements are sold here. Brands like Tower 28, RMS , Ilia, Kosas and Stripes are among the selection. read more

First impressions: even though the store felt really fancy, all the reps were so sweet and helped me try all the different colors I was curious about. They made sure everything was clean and sprayed down with alcohol to maintain standards of hygiene... it made me feel like they really cared and had a lot of attention to detail Products I bought: Rituel de Fille crème lip oil in Black Thorne Rituel de Fille enchanted lip sheet in Black Locust There are one or two others I wanted to try but they were not in stock... but it's a good reason to come back! read more

Credo has a mission to create a safer, more sustainable, more ethical beauty industry. They believe in leading by lead by setting an example of the highest clean beauty standards. The brands they sell support their mission and share their values. Everyone involved in the Credo business is dedicated to helping consumers choose products that reflect their health goals and personal Credo values. As for this location I miss going to Prince Street to shop Credo and my other favorite stores and visit landmarks. There's plenty of restaurants and coffee houses nearby. Go spend the day and stop in Credo! As for me, I'm going online to order my new favorite lip balm. I prefer Grown Alchemist to waxy lip balm sticks. It feels good, goes on smooth and smells good! Thanks Credo! read more

Credo Beauty - Get this lip balm it smells so good! This is a store with a conscience. Posted 03/01/26 - Skin Care Near Me - New York, New York

This place takes the guessing game out of some of the chemically-ridden stuff Sephora carries. I usually read reviews online of products and go in for them to try out. Then I repeat purchases online - you can return at store. read more

They locked the door before 6pm- their closing time. I tried to call into the store but they ignored the call. I waved to get the attention of the reps and the one with the bleached blonde brows and the brown hair shook her head at me twice and waved me away. This is why I go to the Credo on 76th st. The rub I was just dropping off recycling. Please have staff that want to provide customer service. read more

I've been to this location a few times and it's OK. Some of the other locations have staff that is more accommodating, but hey, it's SOHO. The decor is much like the other locations, muted palette filled with quality skincare products. The displays are often shifted around to suit the season. On my latest visit there were few people in the store and I was able to drop off my empties pretty quickly minus a few pieces that were accepted by the employees on my last visit. It seems that the type of empties taken are contingent upon who is checking the in. Despite the place being empty, I declined to redeem. I felt a bit rushed. We politely bade the staff adieu and left the store. We shall see which personas we may meet next time. read more

I been to this Credo location a few times. Sometimes, I had a great experience and sometimes, not so much. A few times I felt like the person was actually interested in hearing my skincare/makeup concerns and recommended great products that would work for me. However, there were other times I felt like I was interrupting the staff's bonding time with each other. Recently, the cashier made me feel like she rather be anywhere else than helping me check out. read more

As a frequent shopper in Credo, I have found that the sales associates are rather rude, arrogant & just too busy on their cell phones to engage in a conversation. This location especially, employs associates that do not have the time nor the interest to discuss their various products. The price point here is on the higher side, which I will gladly pay, but I refuse to give my money to these associates who make you feel as if you are bothering them as they stroll though their social media accounts. This location is the worst of the worst. I was looking for a certain item in a particular line and numerous times the associated told me they didn't have it as they don't carry the full line. I wasted an hour of my time searching for something else, as she went back to her cell phone, only to find what I was originally looking for in the exact place she looked. She never slightly apologized, seemed to be rather annoyed that I found it because she had to look away from her phone for a minute.. Never again. read more

Walking through the shops on Prince Street I stumbled upon Credo and had absolutely no idea what it was. I've been passively trying to replace my daily skincare products with cleaner, sustainable options over the years so I was pretty pumped to find this spot. To accommodate pandemic times, they have a pretty simple wait system in place so customers can feel comfortable shopping. After a short wait, I was let inside and it was completely worth it. Their team is pretty passionate about sharing their love for clean products so it's easy to go a little overboard in here. In an effort to keep things clean, they are still offering swatches you just need to ask a staff member for help first. I've been searching for an alternative tinted sunscreen and they introduced me to my new favorite makeup brand, Ilia. Part of what sets them apart from other stores is their reward program. Similar to Lush, they have a recycling program for old containers. The best part though? It's not just restricted to the brands they sell. You can essentially trade-in empty bottles for rewards points. This is starting to sound like an ad, but you get what I mean. Another plus is their shipping is really fast if you live in NYC. I ordered some shampoo and it arrived the next day. If you're looking to get started on your clean beauty journey it doesn't get better than Credo. read more

Recently learned that Credo's partnered with TerraCycle and offers ten Credo Rewards points for every full size beauty product you recycle (up to 12 products per visit) -- if you work or live in the area, it's super easy to pop by with the empty containers for recycling! read more

After a couple of years of effort and trial/error shopping for healthier skin care and makeup products on Amazon, in the personal care section of Whole Foods, via the EWG guides, under Sephora's (b.s.) "clean" standards, etc., I was really excited to discover that Credo has this brick and mortar store pretty close to my office. They carry a lot of brands I already knew and loved- Juice Beauty, W3ll People, Herbivore- and a bunch of other great ones that I was not yet aware of- like Ere Perez, Acure, and Heretic. There are testers for basically everything, and the employees are approachable, normal people, not overdone makeup divas. Will definitely be cashing in all my silly Sephora points and shopping here going forward. read more

I have been to credo couple of times to buy a foundation the staff is pretty rude and did not give me the correct product to match my skin . They were not helpful at all . The only person that helped me was Kevin he is amazing and matched the perfect color for my skin . The rest doing know what they are doing period!! read more

I've been shopping at this store for as long as I can remember and have ALWAYS had an amazing experience. Every single person I've interacted with is helpful and friendly. Elyse has always been my go-to person when I need recommendations of new products. She's knowledgeable and always recommends the best things for my skin. I appreciate the return policy as sometimes I have reactions to products and they'll take them back so I can try something new. I'm also a huge fan of the points system so I get sample sized products after spending and often end up falling in love with new products and buying the full size. My friends know that if we're going to Credo, it's not going to be a quick stop in because I love the store and the staff. I was once in an airport and spotted by one of the staff - made my day! I love this place read more

I went here in July earlier this year, but even months later the customer service experience I received here sticks out in my memory in the most positive way! I came in with a vague idea with what I wanted ("umm...some kind of lip tint?") and came out with a lip tint, sunscreen and dry shampoo. Ha! Everyone I interacted with was SO friendly and clearly knew their inventory. I actually had fun shopping there, so thanks ladies! read more

Credo is one of the best stores on earth, and this particular location has such friendly, positive, loving team members. One staff member patiently helped me select a lipstick from Ilia, and another gave my 5yo a little kid makeover, which completely made her day. Purple eyeshadow? Yes, please! Thank you, Credo, for helping us all shine, in our own, beautiful way. read more

This is why when I walk in the store I know what I wanna buy (look at website ahead of time) bc most of the time staff are rude. This is the second Credo I've been to where they ignore you. I get it there are maybe 3-4 employees in there and so many clients. There's one or two just walking around and they pick who they go to. I spend big bucks when I order online, so I decided to just check out an in store experience (my first time in a real credo store), so now I know to just keep ordering online. Sometimes, no matter how nice the products are, but the people selling the products aren't friendly (at least fake it if you're not), then anyone would walk out. No different than walking to an Hermes looking like a bum and ended up buying 2 Birkins, so I don't know if you work on commission, but....... It affects sales. read more

Went in for a beauty/makeup consult, ViVi is the oneeeee! Incredibly knowledgeable, non judgmental, and actually listens. Gave me the makeup 101 I've always wanted (I learned so many things) and we had a blast. Felt no pressure to buy anything but lolz loved and bought many things. read more

I was looking for a new clean beauty foundation and Credo Beauty did not disappoint! Michaela took one look at my face and did a perfect color match on the spot! Mic drop. I have medium olive skin w/ rosacea so finding an appropriate shade can be a struggle, but she did it in 3 seconds. She also selected a concealer w/ the perfect coverage. As a former NYC makeup artist it's hard to trust others w/ my makeup, and cosmetic counters can be a real nightmare, but rest assured you are in good hands here. read more

Love Credo. Top tier in terms of sustainably sourced products, lovely ambiance and it's a neat, very well kept shop. A major shoutout to Vivian and Katie -- they've made my experiences in Credo wonderful & are so sweet! Great energy. read more

I have been shopping at Credo for years and always had a good experience. I recommended the store to a friend. My friend went today (8/2/20) around 4:30pm. There was a sign on the (see through, glass) door that said "at capacity, please wait." My friend signaled a hello wave to the female salesperson inside - a woman he said was in her 20's with brunette hair and tan skin and a "50's updo" - who waved back at him to wait. It was 90+ degrees outside. He stood out there in the sun sweltering until 5pm when the Credo woman opened the door and said, "Oh by the way we're closing now and I have to help my existing customer in there so you need to go." He was flabbergasted. She wouldn't let him step one foot inside and was arrogant and rude in demeanor. Plus, she couldn't have told him that at 4:30? 4:45? That's freaking ridiculous. My friend is, like, the nicest human being you could ever hope to meet. He didn't deserve that and it reflects poorly on me. I contacted Credo and they immediately identified the rude woman as the MANAGER(!?), Janell Rodriguez. Janell claimed the store was closed when my friend arrived but couldn't explain why, if it was closed, there was a sign on the door saying to wait (as opposed to, well, closed) OR why she made eye contact, signaled to wait and then just didn't come over until ages later at which point she wouldn't allow entry. If the store was closed, put a closed sign up. Regardless, don't let someone just wait there in 90 degree heat; take a brief moment to say, "Hey, we're at capacity now and we'll be closed by the time you could probably enter so you may want to come back another time." Courtesy 101. But Janell not only failed to do that, she actively lied to me when I asked her about her conduct later. In fairness, a woman named Cathy, who Janell identified as the Director of Operations, did later send a polite apology, which I appreciated, although the apology should have been to my friend, not me, and I wish Janell had apologized, rather than just been rude, lied about it and passed the buck to poor Cathy. If you have a similar experience at the store and need to contact the manager, her email is janell@credobeauty.com, but, based on my experience, she won't be of any help to you. read more

I went in to try products with a lady friend of mine. The service was terrible! All of the staff was standing around talking to eachother instead of providing customer engagement. They were putting makeup on each other and having playtime instead of attention to my friend. We ending up leaving because we felt it was unsanitary, unprofessional and there are other more reputable clean beauty stores in the area. I'm a guy and I definitely wouldn't recommend anyone going there. read more

As much as I like shopping online at this store, it's different in the retail store. Been here a few times already. Some of the sales associates didn't acknowledge me. Is it cause I'm Asian and not a Caucasion woman or one those snooty Manhattanites? I didn't feel very welcome. And some who did, just felt so fake. I don't know if I will ever go back to this location. Other than that, I like the products that are sold here. read more

What a lovely shop! Vivian, Kevin and Sarah B. we're so sweet. Vivian was SO KIND when I was asking her advice on make-up things I'm a little embarrassed I don't know haha Kevin was incredibly knowledgeable and sweet. I absolutely adore this store!!! Demi is a goddess - a high priestess of makeup, blessed with otherworldly abilities. She lifted my spirits on that gloomy, rainy Saturday in the city, and I cannot thank her enough for the experience. Demi not only helped me discover the perfect foundation, but also blush, mascara, eyeshadow, eyeliner and most importantly, a stunning red lip! I left feeling like a queen and was flooded with compliments and inquiries about the lipstick (RMS Wild with desire) Thank you Demi! And thank you credo for sharing her with the world! I adore you both, and will forever be a credo client. Keep doing what you're doing. Xx read more

Elyse was amazing! She helped me find a tinted moisturizer and concealer and I loved them so much I came back the next day to get mascara, eye shadow, blush and liner. This makeup is phenomenal / different natural/cruelty free options and most are vegan. My face is already so much more supple and I didn't realize my old stuff was drying me out. Going *again* today to take advantage of their recycling program and to get nail polish if they have it. Do it. Think about what you buy and what you put on your skin!! read more

This store has LITERALLY changed my life. (And I know that sounds a tiny bit dramatic, but I am SO SERIOUS.) From the first moment I walked in over a year ago, my whole concept of beauty and skin care and wellness in general has completely shifted by 180 degrees. They have an extensive collection of products from perfume to make-up remover to dry brushes that is tailored to anyone and everyone; All with an emphasis on natural ingredients and whole-hearted conscientious production and even recycling. (Kjaer Weiss being my fav for make-up specifically.) BUT ABOVE ALL, and most importantly, the STAFF is TREMENDOUS. They are so welcoming and smart, fun and fresh. They have been an utter JOY throughout every visit and have helped me every possible step of the way. Bravo and BRAVA to Credo Beauty on Prince St! I don't know what I would do without you. Thank you so much. read more

Vivi was so helpful. I walked in looking for a candle and walked out with a great Marie Veronique serum. I really appreciated how they gave us space to browse, but made it easy when I did have questions. She really knew her stuff and made it easy to find the product my skin needed. The products are not cheap, but high quality. All of the samples that they shared when checking out helped too. I didn't catch the person behind the counters name but they were great - funny and offering recommendations since we had similar skin tones. Will be back! read more

1. You need to visit Nolita (North of Little Italy) 2. You need to visit Credo You know those instagrams where people lay out their gorgeous cosmetics bottles on carrera marble, bleached wood or faux fur? Well imagine a whole store dedicated to those instagram flat lays, it's Credo. All the brands they carry have the most gorgeous packaging, so the store looks like a Pinterest board IRL. You'll find a mix of brands you've heard of, and some you've never seen before. I could have stayed all day, but this neighborhood is packed, and Matcha was next on my list. I was there on a mission, to pick up a really niche oil (Goe Oil) my boyfriend is obsessed with. It's not really sold in stores, and it's double the price on Amazon. Credo is the one place that I know carries it in store. I also left with some adorable cocofloss and some mini travel size skincare (I was flying back on with just a carry-on so I had to keep it small. This is the perfect little shop in the perfect little neighborhood. I can't wait to come back when I'm here in the summer! read more

I don't normally write reviews, but I had a really great experience at Credo for their yearly sale last week. It was packed inside but their employee Alex helped me find a whole new skin routine, even though the whole store was busy. I have very sensitive skin and don't know much about clean beauty, but Alex was super helpful and patient and helped me pick out some products I'm already obsessed with. It's been a week and I'm already loving the way my face feels. Thanks Credo!! Definitely worth the visit!!! read more

Horrible customer service! It was my very first time visiting a Credo Beauty store ever. None of the ladies in that shift wanted to help I asked a question about a product and they keep ignoring me and my mom. I wanted to know more about the product. I have the vibes those ladies who do customer service in that store have an attitude of DIVAS or celebrity. It was weird to be there. Then when I went to pay no one wanted to come and proceed my purchase. The entire visit was uncomfortable they made me feel like I was less. I won't come back to this store. They need to be more careful about the customer service. I see I'm not the only one who had that bad experience when they went to visit this specific location of Credo store. If you go and see also google reviews. read more

Went in for a few more samples today. Finally caught the name of one the regular worker bee who always recommends the BEST products for me: ASTORIA. Her skin is super inspiring! Today she showed me the supplement section, which I didn't even know existed. Yay. Keep up the good work! read more

I was helped by Alex in this location and couldn't have asked for better service. He's charismatic, funny, and knows more about skincare than I'll ever know!! Five stars! read more

It's a shame the customer service here is basically non existent because it's one of the only green beauty stores with a good range of brands in the area. The staff that was here either had limited knowledge or zero desire to help. I walked the tiny store a few times trying to figure who actually works there to ask a simple question. I finally asked one of the girls for a natural mascara and she showed me ONE and when I told her it isn't for me she didn't bother showing me anything else, she just walked away. I was confused if she was representing that one brand or if she actually even worked there. You're better off shopping online and returning what doesn't work. There was one person there who was super busy and helping clients. I heard her ask for some back up and no one was interested. What is the point in hiring staff that has no interest in helping sales or actually giving advice on the products in the store ? read more

Credo Beauty is simply magical and came into my life at the most perfect moment! I have been transitioning from conventional makeup to clean makeup and thanks Kevin (you can find him at the soho location) my life has changed! Sounds extreme? I'm not kidding! Before switching over my skincare routine/makeup the conventional makeup I was using was literally burning my face in patches. I tried everything not realizing that the chemicals in the products I was using to clear up my skin was the reason why my skin was burning in the first place! Kevin has literally swapped my entire makeup / skincare products and has saved my skin! He is my forever go to and is pure genius! He continues to educate me and always gets it right! I'm eternally grateful for Kevin and the entire Credo Beauty team! If you haven't been to Credo, GO and ask for Kevin! You won't regret it :)) read more

Selection looks great but alas they have major customer service issues like another reviewer here notes. Door was still locked few minutes after they were supposed to be open this morning. It took a couple of minutes until someone finally unlocked the door. I walked in and salesperson ignored me and acted like my presence was an inconvenience for her. Rather than help me, she talked with a customer on the phone answering questions about cosmetics. I just walked out without making a purchase. read more
