I have a business and I have two accounts with CU West. I have called them a couple times and they have told me I am set up on AutoPay. I have tried to set my account up online as well But for some reason I keep getting calls and texts that I haven't paid. I go to the website and try to pay but it won't let me. I call customer service and of course, they can take a one-time payment but no AutoPay. They tell me there is no email I can send info to either. I can go to a branch but it's miles away. I was locked out of my online banking so I called to get my member ID. They said I failed the account verification of what my occupation was. Really!? I have had the same job for the past five years. He said depending how they had originally entered it in may be what the problem is. So he was locked out of my account for this as well. The only way to be unlocked is to do an in person or virtual appointment. I have to do virtual and it is not available until tomorrow. Wow, what a JOKE! I'm taking my loan and checking elsewhere! I called customer service and they attempted to help. After an hour they still couldn't get me logged in. They made me an appt at the Surprise branch with Rebecca. She worked with me for quite awhile then brought Sommer in to help. These heroes were determined to get me back into my account no matter what! After a trip home to get my Apple ID and coming back they got the problem figured out. After almost 3 hours and countless tears, they got this little old lady back online. This company penalizes you, if you pay your credit card early, it take 2-3 business days to export you payment from your external accounts like Wells Fargo to CUW, and they won't refund my late fee when I made my payment for February on Jan 27th. I received a new auto loan from these people they advertised 90 days no payment. Beware they will start interest that date you sign. When 90 days came up, I owed 3800 in interest. I normally don't write reviews but I happened to write one 2 weeks ago on google and it was deleted. If I can save even one person from having as bad of an experience as my family members and I have had then I will continue to write them. This is a second rate atm at best. I have had better service with Venmo and PayPal, seriously! My grandparents had to close their accounts because of the constant fees and second rate customer service. How they are able to continue doing business shocks me. Every thing I've ever tried to have change updated or renewed they haven't been able to accomplish. I've been left many times without access to accounts and my money. And ever customer service agent I've ever spoken to was so rude they should be fired. Last year I was accosted by a fanatical bank manager at the Dunlap branch for not wearing a mask. I got into a verbal shouting match with her and complained later to management. I have been angry about this for a long time, but for various reasons, I chose to stay with Credit Union West. I still don't know if this woman was fired for her obnoxious behavior, but she certainly should have been. So, today I learned that the Dunlap branch will be closed permanently. I don't know if I should feel vindicated, but I have no doubt that I was right to stand my ground over their insidious adherence to draconian COVID rules. These rules should never have been followed so rigidly and no CUW employee should have ever felt emboldened enough to confront customers in any way over mask wearing. When any business dares to get personal and cross a line with a customer, that can never be a winning strategy! My understanding from talking to tellers at other branches is that the Dunlap location closed mostly due to staffing problems. I think the problem runs much deeper than that. The loss of the Dunlap branch could have been avoided if management had just used common sense and listened to customers like myself and others who were loudly complaining at the time. Thanks to their undying devotion to this diaper-faced cult, this credit union has a reputation that is in the toilet, and it may take a long time for them to get it back. Hopefully no more branches will be sacrificed over hysteria and stupidity. read more

Calling in is more helpful than visiting this branch. They are never busy inside but no one is ever available to help. Then they get things wrong that you requested or forget to let the next person know to push something through that you're waiting on. I'm a business account holder. I initially selected this bank because of the low fees, hours and it's hardly busy. Becca helped me open my account and was helpful but maybe she was new at this, I'm not sure because she told me to hurry and deposit my money before the tellers closed for the day but when I went to do that I couldn't as I had to wait for my account to be approved. I waited almost a month while emailing on status updates. Finally they said it was approved but pending because I didn't have money in the account, well you told me I needed approval before I can do that and my card was delayed(chip availability) on top of that so how can I do business! I am still waiting for my $70 referral bonus as I referred someone to open a business account also, I were supposed to get months ago and when my friend emailed Carmen asking about it she ignored the email about it, never replied. read more

This is the worst bank I have ever had the displeasure of working with. For 2 years I've had a joint account with my mother because I moved for college, I can't go into the bank ever week to fix the constant issues with every card I've ever received (which has taken up to 6 months to receive a new card) and my poor mother has had to go into this horrible bank every week to try and have them fix the same issues for months. Something as simple as a change of address or a new card can take months of your time because they expect you the customer to constantly chase them down for the simplest things to be done. On 4/15 I made my truck payment. Never have I been late, on this particular payment I added an extra digit to my account number by accident so they rejected my payment. I work for a credit union so I understand all the ins and outs of an ACH payment, but all the contact center rep did was give me the same information I already knew. I explained until the rejected payment came back to my account there was no way I could send them another one and inquired about the late charge. After a brief hold she told me her supervisor said they have no control over that and once again avoided my question and explained the ACH process. Makes zero sense to me as to why you cannot answer a simple question. Is there going to be a late charge or not? And if there is can it be forgiven after having the loan for over 4 years and never being late. Furthermore, at the beginning of the phone call I explained to her I moved to Tennessee and she still advised me to come into the branch (in Arizona) and talk to someone. read more

A employee saw me waiting and said I had to sign the tablet for an appointment. She did help me to do this. I waited for a employee to help with why I came to the bank. I was waiting for 30 minutes. New people came in signed the tablet and were called as next person. I told the employee I was there first and these people walked in 30 minutes after me. I have been with this bank over 14 years. Boy how I miss Ellen. The service has really gone down hill. Was a great bank when I first joined. Employee's don't seem to care about the job they are being paid to do. I have been a long time customer of CUW. Close to 20 years. I remote deposited (used app)a check over this last weekend and noticed that a check I deposited in June had an error when remote deposited. It would not give me any details, because of the holiday weekend I had to wait until today. I called today and found out that not only did 1 check not deposit but several checks because I didn't write "remote deposit" on the check. I checked my email and no email from CUW. I am out hundreds of dollars because of the policy they have in place regarding the "remote deposit " that has to be signed on the check with your name. I had never heard of this and the small writing on the app is not clear. We're talking years of deposited checks that never cleared. Now I know I should have known but when I receive an email stating that it was accepted by the app, why would I think anything different. I wonder how many others have had this issue. I will be leaving CUW and after seeing all the negative reviews here, I now know that I am making a good decision. read more

Let me be clear on this. The one star is NOT for the bank branch but for the phone customer service. Actually Wendy at the bank branch was Very helpful and ended up working with us regarding an issue with my brother who is Autistic and has been a customer with this branch for over 5 yrs. The customer service on the phone was very rude, patronizing and lacked integrity. Me and my siblings take care of our Autistic brother. We wanted to go with a smaller bank because we don't want him to get lost in the bank shuffle. He has a tough time keeping track of his expenses. So he has suffered quite a few Insufficient fees due to this. I called customer service to try to get an issue fixed which, they offered no help, no investigation into the matter and basically expressed to us. Sorry for your luck. It wasn't until I went into the bank branch that the manager Wendy went through the account with us and we realized where the confusion was. She did offer us a solution and reversed 2 of the INSF fees. If you have an issue that needs attending to, don't bother calling. Just go into the bank! 5 stars for Wendy and the bank branch but 1 star for Customer Service on the phone. So overall Wendy brought my rating from a 1 to a 3. read more

Watch out. Bad customer service and a typical financial institution trying to nickel and dime the consumer. I got a motorcycle loan from them years ago and they opened up a savings account for me which I did NOT ask for, but just went with it because they gave me $5 to open it in the first place. I paid off my loan over a year ago and asked at that time to close the savings account I never used or even wanted in the first place. I then receive a letter in the mail 11 months later saying my savings account was dormant and I would owe them $10 a month penalty if it wasn't used because they never closed it or properly instructed me when I first asked about closing it. 7 calls later and multiple faxes they beat around the bush on how to cancel the account and not incur the charge. Shady and outright unethical in my book. I will never do business with them again. read more

I had lost my whole wallet at Salt Lake River. I went to the Credit Union West inside Luke Air Force Base in uniform with my new Military ID. I told them that I bank with NAS JRB Credit Union (shared branch) and that i needed to pull some cash out because i had lost my whole wallet. I showed them my MILITARY ID CARD and they told me that they do not take those. I was at shocked because 1. I was in uniform. 2. It is a military ID card. 3. The bank is located ON BASE!! Like there is no way that you guys cannot take my military ID card when your WHOLE BANK is on base. I asked to speak to the manager and she said that no they don't take military ID cards. I had no money for gas or food and they still wouldn't help me. I found another shared branch outside base and explain to them what happen and they were at shocked as well as to why they wouldn't take a Military ID Card like it doesn't get more legit than that especially on a Military Installation. Definitely not military friendly and did not help me in a hardship situation. read more

Recently Ellen was very helpful in explaining options in regard to my credit record. The loans rates are very competitive, and we have always transferred car loans to here after purchase.
