Needle Me is one of her favorite places. According to her "It's one of only 3 reasons why I come to Havertown". Marcie, the owner, is a very warm, engaging woman who really knows her business. She earned my respect when she urged FDC to reconsider a very pretty but rather challenging piece, even though that meant she didn't sell it (and it was not inexpensive). I love small businesses owned by people who truly love what they are selling. Their shop becomes more than just a place to exchange goods for dollars, it becomes a haven, a celebration, a place for learning about that which they love. Needle Me is one of those places. With her encouragement and support, I left feeling confident on my needlepoint journey. I highly recommend her establishment. It offers a wide variety of canvases and a beautiful selection of threads for beginners like myself or the more experienced. I am sure she would have ended up spending more money on whatever else she choose today. She said there were 2 workers & they were so rude to her. Have always found cute things in this store but won't be shopping there ever again. Very disappointed. Wish they had verbally told me about the 2 week window originally when I asked & I probably would have only bought 1 pair of earrings & not spent $100 on 2 pairs as I often have different taste from my daughter. I knew if she came in to exchange a pair she would have found something she liked better. I just don't want others to have the same bad experience we did.

Eric Wells is an enterprising young man with Down's Syndrome who decided to open a store where people with different mental abilities can sell their artwork & crafts, along with unique gift items. Eric also sells informational and children's books about including individuals with special needs into our lives. They are located in the Rosemont Farmer's Market, with plenty of free parking. Open Thursday - Sunday. I am seriously excited about this business and am really looking forward to my next visit!
