The host was frequently absent and didn't provide much guidance or engagement during the experience. It felt a bit like we were left to navigate things on our own. Additionally, there was no acknowledgment of my birthday while there, which was disappointing given that this was the purpose of our visit. Even a small gesture or simple "happy birthday" would have gone a long way in making the experience feel more personal and celebratory. For the price point, I did expect a more elevated and attentive experience. Overall, it's a nice spot, I just wish the experience felt a bit more intentional - especially for moments you're celebrating.

On the website, you can decide what experience you would like to have such as their signature candle in which you make two candles, the candle of the month or a cereal bowl candle experience. I chose the signature candle which was 75.00. Once I arrived, I noticed that the shop was cute and creatively decorated. I had the pleasure of meeting my host Becky who was sooo personable and simply Ahmazing! Becky explained how candle making works and discussed the scent bar in which I could choose between earthy, fruity or exotic scents for the candles and you can also select two candle jars. I decided to get a bigger candle jar which was an extra 10.00. Overall i became a chandler and made two beeyutiful candles and Becky gave me healing crystals and the large candle jar free of charge!! I was so grateful and appreciative being as tho It took me along time to accept nice things and blessings from people, I would always block it... but that's another story! Cork and candles!!! There are SO many choices to choose from. The only thing I did NOT like was the cutter at the sewing area would NOT cut my fabric in two 1 yard pieces. She literally told me it was store policy and I can cut at home. It's bull... The other Joann does it and I do this so I can send my mom fabric. Annoying. On a good day people will actually be helpful. The cutting counter folk will not ignore you, they will get back-up to man the line, they will look out for your coupon options, and make sure you have all you need, and all questions answered. I'm pretty sure this is how old lady Joann would've wanted things to run. (This is how most other stores try to operate every day.) On a bad day, you get the rudest, laziest attitude ever, and none of those appropriate workplace functions actually happen, and the brutish attitude is that you're lucky to get half-azzed help at all. Tonight I was "helped" by Ruth Ann, who was not willing to perform as I believe Ms. Joann herself would've wished. I called ahead because I'm scrambling to finish a dozen projects for a charity auction. I have a toddler and really no time to waste running around to stores (who does?). I spoke with Ruth Ann, who from the start made it clear that me (a customer) calling to ask her questions was just completely unreasonable. Despite her attempt at shirking her JOB DUTIES I pressed on asking if the RIT black liquid dye was on sale in store or not? Simple question. Just walk over and check, or walkie-talkie your floor associate and get them to check. That's it! My response? "Well RIT never goes on sale" (uhhh yes it does lady), and so I asked my question again. She said it was not on sale (didn't check). I then confirmed I would be able to use my 40% coupon on this because it was "not on sale"? She said there was currently no 40% off coupon. Again completely incorrect. I then asked my second question a second time. She finally answered with a snarky disclaimer that "only one item" can be used with coupon. Hmm yes, I was asking about my ONE item. (Btw, this item was cheaper at Target unless I could use the 40% at Joann, thus the point of the call.) Guess what? At the store with toddler, the RIT spot where black goes is empty. Despite online inventory saying there were SIX of my item in stock, there were NONE on the shelf in their designated spot. When asked for help, Ruth Ann tried to claim there just weren't any and resisted checking at every turn. Finally, she climbed a ladder and got more down from the top shelf (which customers aren't supposed to access themselves). THEN, there is a sign stating it is ON SALE, and of course the sale doesn't compare to the coupon discount. I could have ordered it online for store pick up to get that same coupon price with online promo but stupidly trusted that Ruth Ann wasn't lying to me. Well, there's Ruth Ann at the register, and she has the nerve to try to not honor my coupon, which ten minutes ago she said she absolutely would honor on ONE item! It took a painful and COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY argument to then get a manager involved in order to purchase this ONE ITEM as promised over the phone before driving all the way down there. This obnoxious employee, Ruth Ann, was WHISPERING in her manager's ear like a sixth grader, like this problem customer dare ask her to make good on her own word after she was too lazy to give correct information and lied over the phone. Absolutely MISERABLE experience! No apology for the negligence or rudeness. Always a pleasure to deal with this store when I'm devoting my time and money to help a CHARITY.

But, that is not all. This delightful store has toys/ gifts/games. I found Captain Underpants for my grandson and he was thrilled. Wayne Art Supplies is a place to stop in and just say hello. I love to look at all the new supplies. And, of course, always end up buying something.

Brand new high end yarn shop finally arrives on the Main Line! Yay!…read more Main Line Purls opened up two weeks ago in Devon. It's tucked away in a mixed use building right by the Marriott Courtyard, half a block from the Whole Goods and, in the other direction, the Black Cat Cafe. FDC and I spotted their colorful, bright sign after breakfast at the cafe. The shop is bright, clean and open. The yarn is all high quality, hand dyed skeins in a beautiful variety of colors and weights. They have done fun notions and gorgeous handbags too. We were greeted warmly, and the staff were lovely, answering questions and making thoughtful suggestions. They will also wind a skein or two while you wait if they're not very busy, and you can leave purchased skeins there for winding & pick up later. They told us they are planning to have classes and a Thursday night "knot in". This is a high end shop, with skeins of hand dyed yarn, including their own private label line. Do not come here expecting $6 Lion Brand acrylic yarns. The prices reflect the high quality of their yarn. Small free private parking lot right by the store, and more free parking only a few steps farther away. We'll be back for sure.

With her encouragement and support, I left feeling confident on my needlepoint journey. I highly recommend her establishment.
