When I called, the Color Me Mine team (possibly owner?) was gracious and made sure we would have enough table space. The environment is calm with a chill soundtrack over the speakers. Try not rely on a walk-in if you can because they are often booked up on the weekends. You can make your time slot reservation online. For your 1.5 hour time slot, it's a $10 studio fee plus the price of the piece you're painting. Once you're done, you leave the piece there. You wait 7-10 days for a text saying your piece is ready and you go back to the store to pick it up. I look forward to returning again to paint!

I truly appreciate a business that listens to feedback and takes action to make things right. That level of customer care speaks volumes, and I'm grateful they turned my experience around in such a thoughtful way.

The instructor Lilyan was awesome. We got to be chandlers for a day. The experience took about 2 hours in total. We brought our own wine which they provided cups and opened for us. We ordered a flatbread off the menu, but you can bring your own charcuterie. The place is beautiful and there are a variety of scents to choose from and mix together. We purchased the classic experience which was $62 and came with 2 medium candles up to 2 scents per candle. Gratuity included for parties over 5. Weill definitely do again. I love candles and to make your own feel great. And to do this with friends is priceless. I totally recommend !!

There are SO many choices to choose from. The only thing I did NOT like was the cutter at the sewing area would NOT cut my fabric in two 1 yard pieces. She literally told me it was store policy and I can cut at home. It's bull... The other Joann does it and I do this so I can send my mom fabric. Annoying. On a good day people will actually be helpful. The cutting counter folk will not ignore you, they will get back-up to man the line, they will look out for your coupon options, and make sure you have all you need, and all questions answered. I'm pretty sure this is how old lady Joann would've wanted things to run. (This is how most other stores try to operate every day.) On a bad day, you get the rudest, laziest attitude ever, and none of those appropriate workplace functions actually happen, and the brutish attitude is that you're lucky to get half-azzed help at all. Tonight I was "helped" by Ruth Ann, who was not willing to perform as I believe Ms. Joann herself would've wished. I called ahead because I'm scrambling to finish a dozen projects for a charity auction. I have a toddler and really no time to waste running around to stores (who does?). I spoke with Ruth Ann, who from the start made it clear that me (a customer) calling to ask her questions was just completely unreasonable. Despite her attempt at shirking her JOB DUTIES I pressed on asking if the RIT black liquid dye was on sale in store or not? Simple question. Just walk over and check, or walkie-talkie your floor associate and get them to check. That's it! My response? "Well RIT never goes on sale" (uhhh yes it does lady), and so I asked my question again. She said it was not on sale (didn't check). I then confirmed I would be able to use my 40% coupon on this because it was "not on sale"? She said there was currently no 40% off coupon. Again completely incorrect. I then asked my second question a second time. She finally answered with a snarky disclaimer that "only one item" can be used with coupon. Hmm yes, I was asking about my ONE item. (Btw, this item was cheaper at Target unless I could use the 40% at Joann, thus the point of the call.) Guess what? At the store with toddler, the RIT spot where black goes is empty. Despite online inventory saying there were SIX of my item in stock, there were NONE on the shelf in their designated spot. When asked for help, Ruth Ann tried to claim there just weren't any and resisted checking at every turn. Finally, she climbed a ladder and got more down from the top shelf (which customers aren't supposed to access themselves). THEN, there is a sign stating it is ON SALE, and of course the sale doesn't compare to the coupon discount. I could have ordered it online for store pick up to get that same coupon price with online promo but stupidly trusted that Ruth Ann wasn't lying to me. Well, there's Ruth Ann at the register, and she has the nerve to try to not honor my coupon, which ten minutes ago she said she absolutely would honor on ONE item! It took a painful and COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY argument to then get a manager involved in order to purchase this ONE ITEM as promised over the phone before driving all the way down there. This obnoxious employee, Ruth Ann, was WHISPERING in her manager's ear like a sixth grader, like this problem customer dare ask her to make good on her own word after she was too lazy to give correct information and lied over the phone. Absolutely MISERABLE experience! No apology for the negligence or rudeness. Always a pleasure to deal with this store when I'm devoting my time and money to help a CHARITY.

But, that is not all. This delightful store has toys/ gifts/games. I found Captain Underpants for my grandson and he was thrilled. Wayne Art Supplies is a place to stop in and just say hello. I love to look at all the new supplies. And, of course, always end up buying something.

There were many pieces to choose from and ranged within the $7-$25 range, depending on the size and carving details of the piece. A whale mug was about $16, a small owl bank was about $14, etc. I was fortunate to have a coupon for the $7 studio use fee, thanks to my friend giving me a heads up. You pay for everything upfront and they write your info and pottery choice on a form. However, I was a little disappointed to find out I would have to wait a whole week to get my pottery piece. I wished the ladies working there told us the process before we started our creations. In any case, the following week I got my piece and it was packaged in a paper bag wrapped in more paper. It came out so cute! My colors were very vibrant. I totally had fun painting my piece and I would definitely set up a party of my own here. :-) This would be great for a Ladies' Night or Little Girls Day! I noticed when I picked up my piece, it was pretty quiet during the early afternoon on a Tuesday, so I assume it's a great time to come for a peaceful experience. ;-)

Brand new high end yarn shop finally arrives on the Main Line! Yay!…read more Main Line Purls opened up two weeks ago in Devon. It's tucked away in a mixed use building right by the Marriott Courtyard, half a block from the Whole Goods and, in the other direction, the Black Cat Cafe. FDC and I spotted their colorful, bright sign after breakfast at the cafe. The shop is bright, clean and open. The yarn is all high quality, hand dyed skeins in a beautiful variety of colors and weights. They have done fun notions and gorgeous handbags too. We were greeted warmly, and the staff were lovely, answering questions and making thoughtful suggestions. They will also wind a skein or two while you wait if they're not very busy, and you can leave purchased skeins there for winding & pick up later. They told us they are planning to have classes and a Thursday night "knot in". This is a high end shop, with skeins of hand dyed yarn, including their own private label line. Do not come here expecting $6 Lion Brand acrylic yarns. The prices reflect the high quality of their yarn. Small free private parking lot right by the store, and more free parking only a few steps farther away. We'll be back for sure.

Needle Me is one of her favorite places. According to her "It's one of only 3 reasons why I come to Havertown". Marcie, the owner, is a very warm, engaging woman who really knows her business. She earned my respect when she urged FDC to reconsider a very pretty but rather challenging piece, even though that meant she didn't sell it (and it was not inexpensive). I love small businesses owned by people who truly love what they are selling. Their shop becomes more than just a place to exchange goods for dollars, it becomes a haven, a celebration, a place for learning about that which they love. Needle Me is one of those places. Who knows, Marcie might just get me to pick up the needlepoint stuff. Nah.

With her encouragement and support, I left feeling confident on my needlepoint journey. I highly recommend her establishment. It offers a wide variety of canvases and a beautiful selection of threads for beginners like myself or the more experienced. The canvases and threads are priced at all price points; she also has many ready made kits to chose from.

Michaels, in my experience, is hands-down better than Jo-Ann's & ACMoore. I do not shop at Michaels…read morefrequently because their competitors are closer to me, and there are more locations for competitor stores, so they're always available when I'm out and about, as well. But when I do get to visit a Michaels I stock up on things I need that I simply can't get elsewhere. For example, this time I needed RIT Dyemore, which is their non-cotton/synthetics specialty dye. Everywhere else carries the normal RIT line, but not this one. Jo-Ann's had it at SOME stores, ACMoore just didn't have it. But of course, Michaels had it. Michaels also had essential oil diffusers, and wall plug-ins, which were three times the price at competitor stores, and nowhere near the variety of options. Michaels also carries more colors/styles of items like spraypaints, jewelry wire, yarn, etc. and they seem to have things in stock a lot more reliably than competitors. I got a ridiculous deal on blank stationery a few years ago. It was 70% off online. I print cards for a local charity, so I went nuts stocking up. I ordered so much, I cleaned them out, and got a cancellation notice for some of the stock. I called the KoP store, and the manager honored the online sale for me for the remainder of the items, even though it was not similarly-priced in store. The stationery is pretty decent quality, and I am able to raise a lot more money for charity when my out-of-pocket cost is as low as it was at Michaels. * * * TIP * * * They accept competitor coupons! (This is nice because Jo-Ann's and ACMoore have been issuing 50%, 55% , 60%, and more rarely, 70% off coupons, lately, while Micheals normally is just 40% off.) * * * TIP * * * They offer military discount (but do not combine it with coupons).

My second visit, the cashier was beyond pleasant and a joy to talk to. She also scanned a coupon for me, which I was beyond grateful for when I forgot mine from the first visit. They have almost always had what I need, and I've come to accept with any business you win some and you lose some when talking customer service so I will give a solid 3/5 stars.
