There are SO many choices to choose from. The only thing I did NOT like was the cutter at the sewing area would NOT cut my fabric in two 1 yard pieces. She literally told me it was store policy and I can cut at home. It's bull... The other Joann does it and I do this so I can send my mom fabric. Annoying. JOANN Fabric and Crafts - Fabric Stores Near Me - Wayne, Pennsylvania

I've shopped this store (this location among other Joann stores) for decades, for crafts and sewing. This Gateway store is consistently hit or miss with employee attitude. On a good day people will actually be helpful. The cutting counter folk will not ignore you, they will get back-up to man the line, they will look out for your coupon options, and make sure you have all you need, and all questions answered. I'm pretty sure this is how old lady Joann would've wanted things to run. (This is how most other stores try to operate every day.) On a bad day, you get the rudest, laziest attitude ever, and none of those appropriate workplace functions actually happen, and the brutish attitude is that you're lucky to get half-azzed help at all. Tonight I was "helped" by Ruth Ann, who was not willing to perform as I believe Ms. Joann herself would've wished. I called ahead because I'm scrambling to finish a dozen projects for a charity auction. I have a toddler and really no time to waste running around to stores (who does?). I spoke with Ruth Ann, who from the start made it clear that me (a customer) calling to ask her questions was just completely unreasonable. Despite her attempt at shirking her JOB DUTIES I pressed on asking if the RIT black liquid dye was on sale in store or not? Simple question. Just walk over and check, or walkie-talkie your floor associate and get them to check. That's it! My response? "Well RIT never goes on sale" (uhhh yes it does lady), and so I asked my question again. She said it was not on sale (didn't check). I then confirmed I would be able to use my 40% coupon on this because it was "not on sale"? She said there was currently no 40% off coupon. Again completely incorrect. I then asked my second question a second time. She finally answered with a snarky disclaimer that "only one item" can be used with coupon. Hmm yes, I was asking about my ONE item. (Btw, this item was cheaper at Target unless I could use the 40% at Joann, thus the point of the call.) Guess what? At the store with toddler, the RIT spot where black goes is empty. Despite online inventory saying there were SIX of my item in stock, there were NONE on the shelf in their designated spot. When asked for help, Ruth Ann tried to claim there just weren't any and resisted checking at every turn. Finally, she climbed a ladder and got more down from the top shelf (which customers aren't supposed to access themselves). THEN, there is a sign stating it is ON SALE, and of course the sale doesn't compare to the coupon discount. I could have ordered it online for store pick up to get that same coupon price with online promo but stupidly trusted that Ruth Ann wasn't lying to me. Well, there's Ruth Ann at the register, and she has the nerve to try to not honor my coupon, which ten minutes ago she said she absolutely would honor on ONE item! It took a painful and COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY argument to then get a manager involved in order to purchase this ONE ITEM as promised over the phone before driving all the way down there. This obnoxious employee, Ruth Ann, was WHISPERING in her manager's ear like a sixth grader, like this problem customer dare ask her to make good on her own word after she was too lazy to give correct information and lied over the phone. Absolutely MISERABLE experience! No apology for the negligence or rudeness. Always a pleasure to deal with this store when I'm devoting my time and money to help a CHARITY. read more

My transaction had some difficulty processing, but Leigh and David really helped ease the moment and wanted to do everything they could to help me. David especially was so kind! He asked all about what I was planning to craft and he just had the sweetest personality! Even with a stubborn transaction, I left in a much better mood than when I came in!! read more

Quiet store that's not super busy although i stopped by after work on a weekday. Good selection inside or at least it fit what I was looking for. need fabric? check. need thread? check. need yarn/accessories? check. need polyester filler? check. need scrapbook & materials? check. need decorations/fake flowers/vases? check. you get the drift. it's what you'd expect from an arts and crafts store and of course fabrics :) Age range of customers is from teens to seniors (citizens that is) but all shop quietly side by side. I have always had a very positive experience shopping at the Springfield, PA Joann fabrics. It is not hard to find an employee to help you find what you need and they are all eager to help. One employee in particular Donna (cutting counter) will always be my go- to girl. She is extremely friendly and helpful. Okay selection with mediocre service. I interacted with several associates in this store, and all were courteous enough but didn't seem to really want to help me. They were more interested in talking with each other and organizing & restocking the shelves. I felt like I was a bother when I asked for assistance, and they never asked if I needed anything else and just assumed I was done after they helped me with one thing. First, I want to start out by saying that I am not one of those people who thinks the world needs to bow down and serve me. When I go to a store or restaurant where people are providing a service, I simply expect the service to be provided without much fanfare or anything special. I don't think it's the person's job to engage me in conversation or make me feel special. That being said, there was an uncomfortable feeling when I interacted with 3 of the store associates at this location. The lady at the register was a little more warm than the others but overall, they were all a bit, miserable? I thanked each person who helped me over and over and I apologized when I needed extra assistance (help reaching fabric on the top shelf, needing a yard of something that was large and difficult to work with) and each time I was met with silence and a grumpy look. Now, the things/services I had asked for were actually the associates' jobs. The fabric I needed was on a shelf with a sign asking you to get assistance and not to get it yourself. The lady cutting the fabric is behind that station for the sole purpose of cutting the fabric! Still, I felt like I was burdening them and felt I needed to apologize even more. Perhaps it was the dreary weather outside and the holiday exhaustion but I don't plan on going back to this location if I can avoid it. The only reason I did was because they had a particular fabric that I wanted. In terms of the store itself, it was very dated and cramped but I'm noticing that this is a common thing in urban and suburban areas. I grew up in a much more rural area where the stores have a lot of space and are clearly new construction. Overall, I hope I can find a better craft store in my area because I was not particularly impressed with this one. read more

Sweet Jesus, what is going on here?? The store looks like it's stuck in a small town from another decade. It's dark and small and, my God, it smells SO. FREAKING. BAD. You'd have to be in level 1,000,000 desperate to shop here. The smell of mold and mildew and moth balls is absolutely appalling. I had to take the fabric I bought and out of my car and directly in the wash to not let the smell take over my home. Stickers, wrapped in plastic no less, came out stinking. Those stickers, on a birthday banner, still stink. Every. Damn. Thing. Stinks. Wherever the Joanne product was, the entire room was left stinking. I also don't believe the store was staffed appropriately, either. Oh, and they don't have a scrapbooking section. Jo-Ann Fabrics has a mix of fabrics (and related items), craft, and art products. Their fabric offering is quite extensive, including a wide variety of types of material for clothing, home use (curtains, etc.), and so on. Footnote: There are at least 8 types of real camouflage (woodland, Realtree, Mossy Oak, etc.) cloth. The range of craft merchandise is fair, but art supplies are a bit thin. One would definitely find a much wider selection at Michaels, for instance. Prices are average, but substantial coupons (I've seen as much as 40% off) are sometimes provided if one gets on Jo-Ann's e-mail list. Service has always been friendly at this location. read more

I've been coming to this Jo-Ann's for years but the last trip here was sort of disastrous. I was helping a friend with a sewing project. After scouring the decent selection of fabric, we picked three great options and some interfacing. We explained to the salesperson cutting the fabric that we wanted enough fabric for 2 pillows. Not only had we measured the pillow, but we also brought it with us. Somehow we ended up with three different sizes of fabrics. I'm not exactly sure how it happened. Mostly because while she was cutting, I left my friend to explore the bead section. Now I love their bead section. This location carries lot's of plastic and wooden beads great for craft projects for children. For more serious beaders, there are tons of glass, stone and shell beads. I usually pick out some more eccentric pieces at the bead store and then head to Jo-Ann's to find the rest of my jewelry needs. There's always some sale going on in this aisle. There's nothing better than making a necklace that looks like it'd cost $75+ to make and only cost $15. Back to the shopping trip at hand. We got to the check out and the register freezes. Meanwhile, another salesperson had emptied the trash containing the fabric slip. Everything just sort of went wrong, and the worst part was getting home realizing that the store was closed and we had the wrong amounts of fabric. I do want to add that this is the only time I've had such a mediocre experience here but next time I will be watching like a hawk when they cut. read more

Went here and got a ton of stuff I needed for various crafts. Employees were so helpful! I couldn't have done it without them. When I got home...I saw problems with my receipt. I was double-charged :( It happens. I was so worried that they wouldn't believe me. I went in, and they were so understanding. We got it squared away painlessly! I will be back! read more

I have definitely been to nicer jo ann fabric stores. This location definitely an older looking one, but it was also very messy, in my opinion. It seemed to have a large selection of fabric, but not a great variety of other craft supplies. Worse than the disorganization was the staff. They really were not very friendly and when we attempted to ask for assistance with fabric sizing, the response was more as if we were an annoyance than anything else. I probably won't return to this location over the choice of other craft suppliers. read more
