I went to Terrain on Wednesday July 15th around 5pm to purchase a plant for my new apartment. I found two that I loved and one needed a little tlc. The cashier was absolutely amazing she helped ring me up and educate me on the plant I got! She wrapped both plants perfectly! She was so kind and deserves a raise! I love Terrain, they have two locations that I have visited: this one on Lancaster Ave, and the other in Glen Mills. They both have the garden setting and a garden shop, but the Glen Mills shop is significantly larger with a much more diverse selection of goods, which includes home goods, garden items, and bath items. The restaurant section is plant filled twinkling lights that provide a wonderful ambiance at night! This is a great place for a first date! The menu is locally sourced and good: this is not the place to go for superior fare, but nice american fare with a fair selection. Service has always been great, and they are BYOB. read more

Beyond AWFUL salesgirl today at Terrain in Devon, Maggie had a superior and super condescending attitude and spoke so rudely to me when working with a store purchase and return!!! A total smirk on her face the entire time I dealt with her!!! I honestly don't think she should be employed where she has to be face to fence with customers! not helpful and miserable. and this wasn't the first time she acted like this me. I support, use Terrain and live nearby tho this experience today ... I dont Think I'll be back for a long time!!!! They are that special. And certainly way OVERPRICED! Not one to slam on yelp tho she pushed my buttons today. I usually like to write on yelp about a nice experiences, not a terrible one like today! Shame on you Maggie. We had the best night at Terrain in Devon! Angelina was a total ROCKSTAR handling our low-key comedy table and insatiable desire for potted bread. She answered all our crazy questions and her recommendations were SPOT ON. We kicked it off with the cheese board and quinoa fritters, which were both yummo. Our table had the short ribs, two types of salads, pot pie, and the lobsta' roll - all of which got five stars. We capped it off with the chocolate terrarium dessert and crème brûlée and Angelina served it all with a smile. She went out of her way to get us a group pic to remember the evening. Everyone here is polite and professional. I love to wander and look. Prices are a little sticker-shock-y but sign up online for their email notifications, and you'll be alerted to sales and coupons! Terrain is moving in on the merch territory of nearby Valley Forge Flowers, with a slightly more edgy-artsy vibe (as is the case at all Urban Outfitters companies). The store is largely about home decor, with gifts and some lotions / soaps, as well. Outside is the nursery, while in season. They have garden decor, furnishings, limited tools, and vessels. You are not going to grab some potting soil and hollytone pellets here. This is NOT the Waterloo Gardens of yesteryear. While Waterloo had its fancy items, it was still a legit nursery, with staff in green logo polos, kahkis with dirt on the knees from garden work, and a pair of shears in their pocket. This is like Martha at a Westport boutique. I fell in love with some glycerin-shea butter hand cream by Botainculture, which apparently is exclusive to Terrain because there isn't even a manufacturer website where I could order. Anyway, it was $18 for a tube, which is pricey for me. I couldn't justify it, especially now that I'm a mom and anything my son wants comes before me. BUT, Terrain sent me a 25% off notification and that was the push I needed! Mom gets her hand cream! The honeysuckle scent is AWESOME! All of them are, but I could eat that honeysuckle sh!t, YUM! Access this store from the regular parking lot, but beware that their storefront is not right along the edge of the parking lot like Anthropologie. You need to walk down a path between the Terrain Cafe, and Amis, in order to get to the store. There is also access to Terrain from inside Anthropologie. read more

I was sorely disappointed this week when I visited Terrain in Devon on Tuesday. Back in October 2020 I purchased a string of Stargazer lights 15 feet called Climbing Vine. They were $138 so not inexpensive and they came with a remote. When I attempted to turn on the lights this year they did not work. -My purchased lights are a Terrain exclusive item. Going to the manufacturer was not an option. -I was told politely that Terrain in Devon could do nothing to help me. -I would have to contact the store in Concordville. And it was after 60 days. That does not seem right to me. I was in Devon for the day for an orthodontic appointment and why one store could not handle another store's issue is not right. I live one hour away. I also contacted Terrain using the email address in the original box that came with the lights and received the same message. Terrain is part of Anthropologie which is headquartered in Philadelphia. They have invested in a beautiful properties and high end merchandise. I would encourage Terrain to rethink their approach to returns especially as retail is trying to build back business in their bricks and mortar store. read more
