At the beginning of December 2012 I decided to surprise my husband and 4 daughters with a private trip to Cuba as a special gift for my husband's birthday. I researched the various limited options of the licensed People-to-People tour operators and found that many were over priced and were also inflexible as far as dates etc. However, when I spoke to Bob at Creative Travel he immediately offered to try to make my dates work and at a great price. Furthermore, when I found that Creative Travel did a trip which focused on food and drink I knew it was the one as we all love to eat. Bob worked with me to keep the trip a surprise and did all the paperwork and made the whole preparation for the trip very easy. When I expressed interest in looking at specific hotels he tried to get bookings at them for me though it was tough to do so at such last minute. Everything I requested Bob tried to achieve for me; often at no additional cost. My family found out about the trip on Christmas morning and we were on the plane to Tampa that night. The next day we met up with Bob at the airport and from then on he took care of all our wishes and gave us a really memorable and perfect trip. Bob's greatest asset is his flexibility and desire to keep us happy. For instance one day we were tired of breakfast at the hotel and wanted to eat out at a local square -so the next morning the van was waiting to take us to the best place in town for coffee and Cuban pastries. Also, I collect beach sand so wanted to go by a beach and Bob organized the driver to make a quick stop at a beach at the end of a day's tour as well as tracking down a store I wanted to shop at. We were only able to stay for 5 days and so didn't go far beyond Havana but we loved the itinerary Bob put together for us and its mixture of culture, history and entertainment. We attended a culinary school and the girls had a hand at cooking and making mojitos, we had a fascinating tour at an organic farm followed by a delicious meal of its local produce, we ate superb roasted pig at a farmer's place out in a UNESCO protected site, we visited cigar, coffee, rum and sugar cane "factories" and had fun sampling their products, we popped into an artist's studio, drove in the vintage cars, walked all over Havana, enjoyed the museums, saw the Hemingway sites, shopped at the book stalls in the plazas and the local produce markets, ate street food like churros and coconut ice cream and rum punches and had a most memorable meal at one of the "new-style" restaurants in the front room of someones house. Finally there is the music -it is everywhere with bands playing on every corner and bringing the place alive. We loved it and bought lots of CDs which we continue to listen to at home. Bob was enthusiastic and patient throughout all this and very keen to make sure that he was meeting all expectations. Altogether the trip was a highlight of the year and my family had a very happy time. We would definitely consider returning with Bob and seeing more of Cuba. read more

I loved Creative Travel from my first experience with Bob. He replied my emails right away. My husband and I went on a fantastic trip to Cuba with Creative Travel, in March of 2013. All was prepared for us there, and given that Cuba operates on different sense of urgency and bureaucracy - we had nothing to complain about. Everything went according to schedule. We visited so many fascinating places that were not in guidebooks and we would have never visited them, had we travelled on our own. The best example is a ride on a steam train - not only we were allowed in a conductor's compartment, but we could blow the whistle and stop the whole train - nowhere in the world that could happen! The trip was more than expected. Cuba is a beautiful country with warm people, great music, colonial architecture and phenomenal cigars and rum. After the day of visiting, in the late afternoon/evening, we could take a cab (very inexpensive) to go to Old Havana and discover it on our own. There were also surprises included, that I won't mention, but they were the highlight of the day. If you plan a trip to Cuba, the best way is to go through people-to-people program, not only you get the value for the money, but you travel legally and safely, not to mention all the great places you get to visit and people you get to meet. My experience with this place was horrible. It started from the beginning when my best friend decided to have a destination wedding. I was provided the number to the agent Bob at Creative Travel. Excited, I called to book and he was nothing but rude to me. He said things like, "Why would you go? Do you really think the two of you will be talking in two years?" I was appalled, but continued with my booking because that was the information I was provided. He provided the worst service. We never received any confirmation. No airline information and no hotel information. Every time my husband called they gave an attitude and said they had sent it, but they never did. We never received any information until 2 days before we left, and that was only because the bride's mother went to the place and made sure everyone received the confirmation emails. That's when I found out we were not alone and that everyone was having problems with Bob and this travel agency. The resort he booked for us was horrible. Thank goodness we were there with good friends that made the time enjoyable, because if they weren't there we would have had the worst vacation ever. All in all, this travel agency NEVER helped with anything and NEVER provided the kind of service you expect when traveling abroad. I received a thank you card from them when I returned, and you know what I did? Ripped it up and threw it in the trash!!!!! read more

I have traveled with Creative Travel for over 10 years along with my husband and son. We have been on at least 40 trips over those 10 years with this company. Some have been their bus trips, some flying to California, some just for a hotel room and several vacations including a 5-baseball parks in 5-days trip and an trip to the Ice Hotel in Quebec, Canada. We have been on trips with just ourselves and some with over 50 other people also booked with Creative Travel. In all of those trips, we would expect a problem here and there, but we have never had one. Over the years, we have also gotten to know Bob Older the owner. He has traveled on many of the bus trips we have been on. He makes all of us feel very comfortable. Jokes with us and makes us feel important. i as well as my family highly recommend Bob. And just so we are clear, I as well as I am sure Francis am a real person and anyone can message me for more information. A small group of 7 travelers went to Cuba in March along with Bob Older, owner of Creative Travel Inc. Our trip was wonderfully planned with a variety of activities and especially many various types of eateries. Bob was knowledgeable and imparted much information to us. He was also fun to be with as he has a great sense of humor. Travelling with a small group was great as we could go into many places and move quickly. Bob varied the activities and arranged for rides in the restored cars and a motorized rickshaw type of vehicle. My only complaint was that I did not really enjoy the beach resort trip. While the hotel was beautiful and the beach magnificent, we were not looking for a "vacation" and would have preferred seeing more of the country. However, this did not dampen my enthusiom for the trip. I made the arrangements for 5 of the travelers and Bob was extremely patient and answered my zillion questions and returned my telephone calls promptly. If you are looking for an expert in destination weddings, this is not the place to go. They do not explain things properly such as the legal paperwork you need and how to go about getting it done. They do not follow up on emails and some of our family did not get to come to the wedding because they were just so frustrated with this agency. They are extremely disorganized and don't follow through when you need them most once you are at your destination. I had a problem and had to call from out of the country and took about 10 minutes for it to get resolved on my dime. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS AGENCY TO ANYONE! read more

I have had the opportunity to travel with Creative Travel within the last year on a couple of occasions -- Did a trip to China Town in NYC with them (where we were taken places that only the people who live there know about), did a cruise and booked airfare to Orlando, FL just recently where I felt that I got a very good price. The owner and staff were all nice to deal with and very accommodating as well. I even called late one night and the owner answered the phone and helped me; that says a lot in this day and age of machine recordings. Me friends and I had an amazing time with our travel guide in downtown Havana. He was full of energy, very knowledgable and showed us more than we could have ever seen on our own. We booked a third party excursion with Bob at Creative Travel for our Royal Caribbean cruise and weren't sure what to expect but we were blown away. Our first small group tour, creative travel was a great choice. Bob was my kind of tour guide, he took us to some very good out of the way paladars where we had excellent meals.
