My mother bought a play set from this company earlier in the year. Initially, she was happy with the purchase, however, she has recently had some issues with boards warping and wanted to reach out to the company to help fix the issues. Since then, she has reached out via phone calls at least 5 times in the last month, gone into the physical store twice, and has received promises of return calls from various contacts which never materialized. Don't get me wrong. These products are good. However, after owning a playset for less than a year it was already coming loose and one of the metal joints was starting to rust. When I reached out to the company they told me that coming out would run me near 200 dollars plus the cost of the part--maybe the part is free, maybe not. Look bottom line is if you want to buy one of these, do so know the company won't stand behind the product or installation for any period of time past 30 days. Just be ready to fix it on your own. Within 8 days, we picked out a swing set and it was installed this morning. Jeff was easy to work with and straightforward. They run some really good sales and we got a great deal. The three guys came out on the early side of the time window we were told, and completed the swing set in 3.5 hours. It looks awesome and our son is over the moon about it. They were professional and courteous and didn't mind our small dog hanging around them at times. If it wasn't for price, this place would get 5 stars. So I have been researching and trying to buy a swingset for the kids for over a year. I just could not justify the prices here, but after having the product, I am so glad, we did not go for a cheap set from Toys R Us. The set is so sturdy, kids love it, and do play on it alot. The customer service was great, the sales people were not pushy at all, and after there was a little issue with the installation, they came back to fix it. We took the kids to the Pembroke location on a rainy day to look at the swing sets. I had been researching swings sets online and was nervous so I wanted to look here first before purchasing. We were there for over two hours! The saleswoman we worked with was very patient as I kept changing my mind. My kids played on all the different models and had so much fun so I felt really confident with the purchase since they were able to test it out. We took advantage of the sale and opted for the ice cream stand in lieu of the rock wall. We also got some other accessories. Although, I did spend more than I had anticipated, I know that my kids' will use the swing set and I will get my money's worth. I did also opt for the rubber mulch and molded border. I can't speak to the installation because I haven't had it installed yet and that is why I have only given it 4 stars. read more

Worst experience purchasing anything in my life. Zero communication, follow-up or return phone calls were non existent. Promised 5 different delivery dates and never showed. Eventually cancelled and went with Rainbow Playsets who accomplished what I wanted in a week when Creative Playthings had 6 months and couldn't come through. From missing parts, to blaming other employees, I heard every possible excuse and never got my questions answered. The sub out delivery and installation, and the installers were the only ones who answered my calls. Eventually they all badmouthed the entire company saying they are so unorganized. I got a lawyer involved to get my refund which I did receive. I cannot believe they can still operate. read more

This was my first swing set purchase so I had no idea what to expect. We went to the Pembroke showroom which was awesome. It's conveniently located right off the highway and they have a huge indoor space with all of the swing sets assembled for you to see. We found the one we wanted and had some questions so we found a salesman, Geoff, who helped us out. Geoff was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He REALLY knows the product inside and out and was very easy to talk to. He walked me through all of the different configuration options, helped me decide on the number of swing stations, explained all of the accessories and in about 10-15 minutes he helped me zero in on what would be the best fit for us. Geoff processed the order quickly, set us up with an install date convenient for us and we were on our way. The support didn't stop there. I had some challenges in preparing the swing set area in my yard, specifically in trying to figure out how big the space should be and where the set would go when delivered. I must have called Geoff 5 times and he was super friendly, patient and helpful. He provided me all of the measurements I needed and fully answered all of my questions. I later had to reschedule my install and he was very understanding about that as well. The installers showed up on time and were friendly and professional. They assembled the set in just over a couple of hours, were organized, clean and did a great job. Overall, my experience with Creative Playthings could not have been better. For me, it was Geoff that really made it and is the driver behind the 5 star rating. I would highly recommend contacting him if you are in the market for a swing set. Terrible company!!! My swing set was put together by a man who didn't know what he was doing. Also they forgot our rockwall. When I called they said it would take 3 weeks to come in. 8 weeks later still nothing. Then they told me they would come out on Monday between 2-5 to install the wall. Guess what, they never showed up!! Now my daughters birthday party will be difficult with no way to climb to the slide. read more

We did not get a swingset here but we did have a child's birthday party here and it was great. After making the first phone call to get info, I was comfortable that it was going to be great. The man I spoke to was friendly and informative and explained everything perfectly. The day of the party we had a person there to explain the rules and bring out the cake etc but other than that they basically leave you alone and let the kids have fun which was great. My son and all his friends had a blast. Also the place was very clean, which is a huge plus with this kind of play place. read more

Terrible, disappointing experience. The crew arrived almost two hours after their arrival window. They arrived without the installation instructions and were unfamiliar with the swing set we ordered. The installation was very slow and the crew argued loudly throughout the process. It was 8 pm before having us finalize the placement - as it was dark outside at that point (April installation) it was extremely frustrating to try determine the best placement without being able to see clearly. They continued working and arguing until 11:45 p.m. and in the morning we found: -there was approximately 1 inch of mulch in the play zone (we were charged for 3 inches) -raw, unfinished pieces of wood screwed into certain beams (customer service says this is because their swingset designs are not stable on grass so additional pieces are needed) -the accessories weren't installed -the climbing wall wasn't complete -garbage, including sharp stakes, was all over the yard Most upsetting, they moved an existing playhouse onto our sandbox (?!) damaging both. Customer service (Jeff) and the distribution center (Betsy) were unapologetic and unhelpful. Their response has been that they subcontract the installation to another company and are not responsible for the actions of that company. Truly wish we'd gone with another company. read more
