Horrible experience. I came in on Sunday, 8/30 to rent a speaker and mic for a not-for-profit event…read moreplanned for that evening. The speaker worked for approximately 4 minutes before emitting a loud tapping sound. Repeated attempts to fix, but no luck. We paused the event while locating/ setting up a new speaker. It was late and Guitar Center was already closed. I bring back the speaker on Monday, yesterday, explain what had happened, and ask about a refund. The associate seems annoyed and says the "acting store manager" will need to talk to me, who is standing behind him. Eventually the "acting store manager" half turns to me and says "my store manager will have to make that call" and says "You should have called when something went wrong." I explained that this happened after Guitar Center was closed. He repeats himself and tells me the "store manager will be in tomorrow" and that I'll have to call in then. Nobody says "sorry for the inconvenience" or anything like that. Guitar Center opens at 11, so I called today, 9/1, at 11:30 to speak with Store Manager Michael Rismiller. I was told he had left for the day. I then ask if there's anyone I can speak with about a refund on my rental equipment. I'm put on hold for 10 minutes, after which the phone redials the number and I speak to a Jason S. I am then put on hold again, and after another 5-7 minutes of waiting, Jason gets back on to say his "system is down" and he'll try to call me back in 30 minutes, "hopefully." As of this writing, still no call. Obvious runaround, tons of apathy, rude demeanors, the works. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! UPDATE 1: Jason S reached back out, denied the speaker was malfunctioning, and said "the best we can do would be like a 50% refund." Jason S said they played music through the speaker to test it. I explained that we were using a mic. Jason S cut me off and said "actually music is the more reliable test." Fortunately, I have video evidence of the speaker malfunctioning. Jason S requested that I send that to him at his email address, which I will be doing. I will also send to Michael Rismiller and the District Manager Dutch Wermuth. UPDATE 2: I emailed the store associate Jason S the video evidence that he required in order to process a refund on my faulty equipment rental. I've not heard back. I called the store to follow up but the phone rang repeatedly without anyone picking up. UPDATE 3: I called again and Jason agreed to the full refund. Updating to two stars. I also heard back from Dutch Wermuth today.

We have had piano lessons with Brittani from Danby Music lessons for a year now and we so pleased…read more My daughter had taken piano lessons from another well known studio for over a year and didn't know the basics. I still had to help her find the appropriate keys to start playing any piece. She had memorized the fingering, but didn't know how to translate the notes on the page to the keyboard. All of that changed quickly when we started with Danby. My daughter has come so far in just a year and is very proficient with all her scales and chords. She also is playing beautiful pieces of music, with no assistance. I would highly recommend Danby Music Lessons.

I immediately liked Jim and my daughter has enjoyed her lesson time with the studio. There is no pressure and it's a fun environment. This is the kind of place you just want to kick back on the couch and just chill while talking with the owners about music, old vinyl, and guitars. I enrolled my daughter in guitar lessons there and she's loving it. They are patient with her, funny, and makes her feel great about her lessons, even when she misses a note (or a string, or a whole chord). I seem to have a problem just dropping my kid off there for lessons. I tend to hang around and browse through the thousands of classic vinyl albums that line one wall of the shop (adorned with dozens of guitars for sale hanging above). I usually end up leaving with one or two new gems to add to my record collection. Recently, I took in my old Telecaster to have it cleaned and repaired. (One of the pots had seized up and wasn't turning.) Laura repaired my guitar and cleaned and restored it to it's former beauty. In short, this place is great if you're looking for old vinyl, need lessons, a new guitar, or to give new life to an old guitar!
