Birdsnest is actually located right upstairs from the Needlecraft Center on Main Street in Davidson. It seems weird, but you walk into the house and head upstairs to the second floor. The Birdsnest consists of a retail shop and a place to get some music lessons. There is a little room that is cluttered with tons of vinyl records, which is what drew us here in the first place. The prices were pretty good and the quality of the records was great. They also have a small selection of CDs and other music formats, but it's mainly about the records. There are other rooms upstairs that are dedicated to music lessons, both instrumental and vocal. Birdsnest is a pretty cool addition to downtown Davidson and worth checking out if you want some vinyl or want some professional assistance in becoming a rock god.

My spouse had a phone call and was at the moment (work related) so I says to the sales associate as soon as he finishes his call then you can further assist us. He then says a slick comment asking "oh he came in browsing on the phone?" I was taken back for a second but ignored it because I didn't see a sign that we could not use a phone at all!! So I politely say to this gentleman again he will be finished in a minute and he's the player not me so I'm not sure what he would like. What made me immediately leave this establishment and to NEVER Return is because his next statement was unnecessary and rude! He says "well don't just walk in here and not speak to me and I not tell me what I can help you with?" So then by that time my spouse is off his work call and the gentleman then tries to act nice again... no sir. We politely left because of him being very rude and unprofessional. If you need your customers to walk all the way over to your desk to get your service may I suggest having a desk by the door and greeting them as they are walking in and make them feel welcome! I was willing and ready to purchase what my spouse desires if this location had it however simply because of this sales associate's poor customer service and improper etiquette that was a hard pass for me now and ever! Have to give them a A for trying…read more Yesterday afternoon the battery in my regular dress watch died and i have to send in off to replace the battery to maintain the warrant. Something to the effect the battery has to be changed by their technicians under nitrogen. No problem, I kept an old Timex for just such an occasion, Got up this morning and dug it out of the drawer and guess what ? The battery was dead also. Gave a call to Wooten Jewelers in the Mall and the owner told me that he probably had the battery but if not, could tell me where to go. I could not read the numbers on the back of the case to tell him. Got to the store and while he had trouble reading the numbers as well, turns out that was one of the few he did not have. He suggested a couple of places but rather than that, I asked him to call his brothers store to see if they had it. He did and they did. I'm not going to knock the store down when then were so helpful in the end. Looking around the store, nicely appointed and from what I could see, good selection. It's one of few stores left in Signal Hill Mall.
