Less than 2 weeks prior to Middle School starting, I was advised by the director that they would not pick my daughter up from her Middle School because she was the only child there that was enrolled. 2 weeks ago, I was guaranteed a spot. Now I'm left hanging with no after school care. Very unresponsive very unprofessional. When you contact the academy, you receive a voicemail from a woman and not a professional business answering service. Thanks for doing absolutely nothing but wasting my time.

It definitely required a lot more upper body strength than I gave a credit for, but once you actually climb a little and get in the air, it's so fun. Our instructor was incredibly strong and showed us a number of moves in our short amount of time together. She was overall good vibes and made the entire experience really enjoyable and approachable. I would highly recommend.

I think silks are so cool and am always so mesmerized watching silks shows at the Renn Faire. But it looks so hard that I doubted I could do any of it! The class was an hour long and our instructor was very friendly and helpful. She explained proper form and how to get into the different poses, that I actually ended up flipping upside down and successfully getting into each of the different poses she taught us! More than that, it was SO much fun. I'm so thankful for her patience and teaching style.

I can't say enough about what a wonderful music program this is for young children. My son and I…read morehave taken 3 classes so far with Music Together Sing and Groove. Two of those classes were with Rhythm kids. This class is wonderful for my active boy. We've done one in-person class and two virtual classes. I was skeptical about the virtual class, however it's perfect for my son in the late afternoon when its hard to get him out of the house and his energy is a little lower. We have taken classes with Linda and Jennifer and they are both so fun and engaging. They are so good at working with preschoolers. They ask questions of the children to get them thinking and to keep them engaged. They are funny and energetic and always smiling. They never ever tell a child to sit and listen. They respect every child's individual needs whether s/he needs to sit or move around, pay attention or not. I can't say enough about these teachers. After several weeks of taking his first music class, I heard my kiddo playing out the rhythm patterns. He's also started making up his own songs. He gets excited to find fermatas and rests in sheets of music. He talks about piano and forte. I see him growing and really appreciating music. On another note, the music is wonderful. We've kept every album from each class and listen to them frequently. It's easy on adult ears too. You know you like an album when you listen to it alone in your car! I highly recommend this program for anyone interested in developing their child's musical knowledge and appreciation.

My daughter and I were thrilled when DGA relocated to their new Aldie/Arcola location - quite…read moreconvenient for us. They have a large, open viewing area and plenty of space. In addition, there are several class options and multiple times for all skill levels. (Important to note - if your gymnast is practicing at an intermediate or advanced level and does not wish to be on one of their teams - it is in your best interest to first ask if the coach assigned has the ability to properly and safely spot your child.) Also, DGA has an amazing presence at all DMV area meets (State and National ones too). Their Developmental (DP) and Xcel teams, both, are a force to be reckoned with - as this is a well established - fact in the gymnastics community. My daughter had been taking lessons and was really enjoying them until she took a fall. I specifically asked the coach ( who was not her regularly scheduled coach - the class assigned coach was on the gym floor just not, for whatever reason, teaching that class.) who brought her back to the waiting/viewing area what happened. I directly asked if my daughter's fall was her fault - was she being unsafe. The coach expressly told me no, my daughter was assigned a drill (in the previous class) that should not have been assigned. No further explanation was given. My daughter had explained to me what had transpired. My daughter was in pain - another coach (not affiliated with DGA) told me to take her to a specialist. No one at DGA reached out to see how she was feeling, no one even said we hope she feels better. The entire situation was completely ignored - this is not just unprofessional; it is also unkind and unempathetic. DGA is currently and actively working at becoming the number one power- house gymnastics facility in the DMV. They should, first and foremost, actively work on improving their coaches' communication skills, feigning compassion, and being committed to always implementing safety.
