It is 90 degrees today and feels like 95 according to the Weather Channel (see attached photo). I seemed to have lost my appetite. At around 4 pm, I decided to try my luck at Sabrina. I was so happy to find a watermelon cake and it was an instant cure to me. The sweetness tasted refreshing especially under this weather. The mouthful feel of icing and filing was soothing, which seemed a unique feature for all Sabrina cakes. After one serving, I regained energy and started to enjoy the beauty of the watermelon cake with my eyes. Then I was able to appreciate it not as a piece of cake but of art. The icing color had three layers, green, white and pink (from bottom up, please see attached photo), representing the rind and flesh of watermelon. The black seeds tasted like dark chocolate, and I very much liked the attention to such details. I wanted to share my joy and would like to recommend Sabrina to all fellow Yelp residents. read more

I am not a cake or chocolate girl...but a solid frosting wins me over. These cupcakes are gorgeous and can easily be shared due to their generous size. We sampled carrot cake, red velvet (amazing), double chocolate, chocolate peanut butter Oreo (awesome even though I like peanut butter on its own), French toast and the Valentine's special. All items were fresh and flavor profiles spot on, nothing overpowering or artificial here. Highly recommend! read more

What a cute place. Sabrina was a former understudy of Suzi and just moved into Suzi Cakes and made it her own. I must say, I really like the decor and I appreciate that there are more options than just cupcakes now. So with that, I tried a little from column A, a little from column B. * Chocolate (double, dark, ?) cupcake: The crispy chocos on the outside really made this. It was overall on the darker side, less sweet (good) but slightly less moist (not as good) than I expected. Then again, I did show up rather late in the day. The lighter chocolate filling helped balance. 4.5 stars. * Apple pie cupcake: 5 stars. Very well balanced between textures and flavors, with a glazed apple on top. Big fan. * Chocolate/nut/coconut bar, forget the name: 3.75 stars. The coconut held it together but too much was being asked of it. There were too many nuts for the amount of chocolate, so it wasn't quite sweet enough to be dessert and had a dry texture when biting into it (saved by the coconut). * Giant chocolate chip cookie: Again, I showed up later in the day, so this may be moister when it's fresh out of the oven. It wasn't hard, but it was getting stiff. I tried chilling it because I love cold cookies with milk, and that just turned it into a rock. That's my fault. I did sample it before sticking it in the fridge, so I think I can still assess it fairly at 4 stars. Food average: 4.3125 stars Service average: 5 stars. Very friendly. Sabrina herself greeted me when I walked in, and she and her staff were happy to walk me through the new history of the place and what they have to offer. I would come back just for the service with a smile. I'm impressed with the success Sabrina is having at such a young age. I will definitely find myself back here. Based on my first experience, I'll try to come earlier in the day and hit up the cupcake side a little more often. Though this is right on the cusp between 4 and 5 stars, I am rounding up with the expectation that me being a few hours earlier will yield moister, chewier confections. read more

The best bakery and cake shops possibly in Mountain lakes and Boonton. My wife is a great fan. We have got cakes from this places for numerous birthday parties and celebrations. Recently we got one for Father's Day. We got strawberry shot cake. Had super fresh strawberries and unique taste. It did have some flavors similar to the famous 'tres leche cake'. They also went out of their way to accommodate us since our event was pre-pines by a day and they were able to deliver in few hours. Highly recommended. read more

I ordered a $180 cake for my mothers 70th birthday and sent a photo and they were confident that they could recreate it without a problem. When I picked up the cake I was shocked and embarrassed to present it. Please see the photos and judge for yourself. Only giving 2 stars because the taste was decent and they refunded me $25 for the inconvenience. It's unfortunate because they post beautiful cakes on their social media but don't post these to show what you'll actually get. The peanut butter cupcake was moist and fluffy. It wasn't overpowering or dry, as peanut butter tends to make cakes/cupcakes. The citrus cupcake was also moist and fluffy. I enjoyed the base of the cupcake but didn't enjoy the citrus buttercream frosting and filling. Not particularly my favorite, but if you're into Citrus, this may be the perfect cupcake for you! My mom ordered a birthday cake for me from here and it was the most beautiful cake I had ever seen!! We special requested the order and it came out exactly, even better, than imagined!! I'm very thankful to have such a great bakery near by and my family looks forward to ordering more cakes from here. Something that was also helpful was they gave us instructions on how to take care of the cake between the time that we picked it up to the time that we were celebrating. This super cute family owned bakery is top! Super quality ingredients, very great baking and super reasonable priced. We stoped for some treats, yet end up leaving with 7 different pieces , 2 cupcakes, one cheese cake, two puddings (the bread pudding is ) and two crumble cakes. Everything was top! read more

Any quick moment when you can close your eyes and indulge in the delicacy that is Creation by Sabrina's cupcakes is just a fleeting moment of pure Bliss and Happiness. If you have not tried these little ounces of deliciousness then you do not know what you are missing. So after parking in front and reading a few reviews, I thought I'd give them a try. The inside is clean but a bit touristy. Upon entering the store, they have a Keurig machine. This is a turnoff for a "bakery." The cupcake selection is pretty extensive but they are limited to just different cakes with different icing. I purchased the s'mores cupcake. The box it is placed in is quite interesting. The icing does not get messed up and there's a tray inside that pulls up so you don't mess the icing. But that's it. The cake like other reviews is on the dry side. And I really didn't get a sense of s'mores after eating this one. It's a chocolate cake with white icing dusted with what's supposed to be graham cracker crumbs and a Hershey's kiss on top. They only way I'm coming back would be to try a whole cake or one of their smaller cheesecakes. Except a whole cake risks being dry except it would have filling. Chances are I will not be back. There are plenty of other bakeries along this road. read more

I found Creations by Sabrina on Yelp. Here I was struggling to find a cake for my 30th birthday. I called so many places and they wouldn't accommodate me. But when I came across Creations by Sabrina I was pleasantly surprised. They were able to accommodate my request in such a short period of time but also exceeded my expectations. The staff was very professional and courteous. Sabrina was very courteous and kept me in the loop when I sent her the photos of the cake I wanted. Saving the best for last I thought since it's a fancy cake it wouldn't taste that great. But my guests and I loved the cake. It was over that night itself. Everyone loved the cake and the cream and the cake complimented each other so well. I will definitely be going to Sabrina's again. When I placed the order for the cake we managed to get some cheesecake and cupcakes they were so amazing. Loved the store as well. Can't wait to order more cakes from Creations by Sabrina read more

Where do I begin? I have bought countless different cupcakes and cookies, and the sweet ball jar desserts, and lemme tell you... they are eaten right up. Every time I head to Main Street, my husband asks me to pop into Sabrina's and get a couple of cupcakes, then my kids yell, "get me something, too". Her cupcakes are incredible, and so are her cakes! (I'm sure everything is but I'm still working my way through trying everything.) I would LOVE to post photos so you can see how epic her desserts are, but they get eaten too quick. Absolutely blown away by Sabrina's cupcakes. Tried several different kinds. They were all fabulous. My favorite was the cannoli cupcake. We brought a number of them home and couldn't eat them all at once, so we decided to freeze some. Put them in an airtight container for a week and they they were perfect after defrosting them. Sabrina and her staff are so friendly and helpful. Love the shop. read more

Stopped in yesterday just to check it out. A box of goodies later and I'm hooked! Love the vibe of the store - small and cozy. The treats are displayed beautifully and taste even better. We tried the chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin cookies - YUM! And the crumb cake was to die for! Just the right mix - luscious and most cake with slightly crunchy, sweet, delicious crumbs! I'm usually suspicious of 5 star reviews & rarely write any reviews but have to make an exception here. We were lucky to have friends pick up a few different cupcakes & a jumbo cookie for us from this bakery yesterday. I bake a lot, am very picky & can tell when average chocolate, cream cheese & butter, etc. are being used. Well, the chocolate overload, samoa & peanut butter cheesecake cupcakes were the best I've ever had in terms of the quality of the ingredients used & how great they tasted. They're also larger than regular sized cupcakes so the price is very reasonable. The chocolate chip cookie was also terrific & has 2 different kinds of chips in it. Apparently, they only opened 2 months ago & I can assure you you're going to want a new business like this to be around when the quarantine is over so it's worth your time to check it out now. Although my friends delivered this first batch to us, it's definitely worth it to me to drive there to get the next batch soon & I'm coming from Livingston. read more

So, we wandered in and the shopkeep started telling us about teas and she let me smell a green one. I asked if I could try it, she generously said yes, and that kicked off an unplanned tea ceremony. It started off with just my husband and I, but as other people came into the shop, the shopkeep invited them to join us at the table so by the end there was another couple, a woman, the shopkeep's husband and the shop's assistant hanging out together and drinking tea. We learned all about the villages where the teas came from, the differences between some of them, how old the teas are, how the shop came to be, even about the tea table we sat at. Super cool vibe, loved the coming together of strangers bonding for hours over a shared love of tea, but one that I'm not sure can be replicated because again, these tea tastings are meant to be booked ahead of time with your party, and are meant to be a paid service (though in Taiwan, tea tastings are free). We got lucky because the shop wasn't busy and people had cancelled their tea bookings due to an upcoming snow storm. I will most likely come back for more tea at some point. Even if a spontaneous tea ceremony never happens again, I count my blessings that such an experience even happened once, and would still recommend this shop to any Chinese tea lover.

BEST BAKERY AROUND! Sabrina, the owner, is so unbelievably sweet and hard working! Everything is so good! They have only been open for a few months but every time I'm in the area I stop by and grab something!! Here are a few of my favorites: French Toast Cupcake, Hot Chocolate Cupcake, Cheesecakes, and lets not forget their SMORES BARS :D OMG I LOVE their smores bars, HIGHLY recommend trying them! I can go on and on about how much I have enjoyed all their creations and the staff there!! Every time I go I see something new that I just haveeee to try!! They have everything from cupcakes, cookies, bars and even cakes ready made so you can grab and go! For valentines day they even made cupcake bouquets that were sooooooo beautiful and delicious!!! Picking just 3 flavors to sample from their list of cake combinations was so hard, which was a good thing! You are allowed to have a different flavor for each layer of cake at no additional cost, so we had fun with those. We picked the olive oil cake with passion fruit cream, the walnut almond pound cake with raspberry mousse, and the lemon cake with orange flower blossom cream. Well, my husband talks about that passion fruit cream more than any other part of our wedding (I try not to be too upset about that), it was that amazing! My favorite flavor was the raspberry mousse, and I keep hearing a ton of compliments on that flavor in particular from our guests. The only critique I would give to Cake Fiction is that they didn't give the venue a list of the flavors so nobody knew what each layer was and my husband and I had picked the flavors months before and couldn't remember either. I also appreciate how up-front Cake Fiction was with their pricing, which is listed online on their website to give you an idea of an estimate for your cake. We ended up going with a naked cake with just buttercream frosting on the outside which saved us a bit of money, and it looked so beautiful after our florist put a couple of flowers on it for us and it really fit in well with the theme of our barn venue. I made my own cake toppers out of clay and they were a little heavy so I was worried about them on top possibly sinking into the cake, but the cake was sturdy and the topper sat up there proudly! And finally, Paula is also the sweetest lady ever and you can tell she really has a passion for her work. It's lovely that we have such a great wedding cake baker in New Jersey. Now if only they would open a tiny bakery so that we can get two cupcakes with our flavors next year for our anniversary. :)

Lot's of different things to critique so I'll try to categorize…read more Pro's: Friendly Staff, Accommodating (Depending upon the staff) and some decent offerings. Some of the pound cakes and brownies are tasty, pies, some cake and cupcakes. Cons: Not consistent with lunch menu items and what sides are supposed to come with meals - all depends upon the staff or if they are running low on sides. Breads are sometimes under-cooked and just plain doughy. "Fresh baked" cookies are too heavy on the sugar and sadly not made with butter. Andover location is in serious need of paint, a new window sill outside and a cleaning! No clue if they use preservatives or fillers. To start with, Café Pierrot has a lunch menu which states what sides, toppings, or ingredients are included on a salad, sandwich, soup or wrap. Depending upon whom is making your lunch it will vary each time and many times NOT include what it is supposed to on their menu. All wraps are supposed to have potato salad, pasta salad and greens. Sometimes you may get an average portion of these sides, sometimes just a heaping spoonful, other times you may only be given one or two of the sides. One of the wraps states "with EXTRA potato salad". Uh, no. Never happens - why have a menu then? If you order one of their salads, good luck getting what is supposed to be part of that dish. And they are very skimpy on the greens. I've stopped ordering salads, because its just not worth it when you DON'T get everything that you are supposed to! Some days you order soup to go and they will include several slices of their bread, with another young lady you get nothing. Or, if they are running low on the sides, someone may skimp, but to be quite honest, why cheat the customer? Mind you, you are still paying FULL price for these dishes. Maybe the staff needs a refresher on what it states on their menus and to stay consistent! Walnut Coconut Bars - twice now we've tried these, which COULD be delicious - first time the walnuts in this bar were stale. I thought, well, maybe it's just this one time and I questioned to myself whether any of the staff tastes the walnuts to insure freshness or are there expiration dates on these things? We tried again almost 2 months later - yep - same thing. Entire bar is riddled with stale walnuts. WHY??? That's unacceptable. Moving on to the condition of this establishment. Not trying to be mean, but you walk up to the little building where they have the Café (they own several buildings on this property) and you cannot miss the completely rotted window sills in front - why would you let this go for so long? And you just celebrated your 30th Anniversary? Also, there is some sort of antique mill sitting in front - rusted to high Heaven - again, it can't be there for any kind of décor because at this point its an eyesore. On the latest visit - since we were waiting for so long for an order to be done (which we called ahead and gave it MORE than ample time to finish) I happened to look towards the corner that leads into back area where they prep and bake and maybe 20 large bags of flour were stacked against the wall - next to them some lawn and leaf type trash bag dangling over something and I looked above and there were dark cobwebs dangling from the ceiling over the bags of flour and trash bag. Not appealing at all. Not to mention, the walls looked dirty and all around it's in need of cleaning and fresh paint. Just makes me wonder what else is lurking in the back where they prepare the food when the entrance to the place is rotting and the place needs to be painted and cleaned? Does the owner ever take a look or care? They offer so called fresh baked cookies if you call at least 30 minutes ahead (their policy, not mine). OK, we tried this and when I called I was told it will be about 30-45 minutes. Fine, no problem. We arrived an hour later, figuring it gave them plenty of time to prepare the cookies. When we got there I was told, oh, they are just going in the oven, so it should be about 5 minutes. NO. Try 30-40 minutes later of waiting. Gee, thanks. To top this all off, after waiting so long for something that should have been ready - they dumped all these large (warm) cookies on top of each other with NO wax paper in between! If you even attempted to dislodge one, it would crumble. Geeze, after all that and you end it with sloppy packaging? And it's not like they were all the same cookie type. Lastly, I'm not adverse to sugar, but when the flavor is overpowered by just sugar, it's no good. And we tasted no butter, which homemade cookies should be made with real butter and these had none that could be detected. HUGE disappointment and would never order these cookies again. We keep going back, hoping for better quality and service, but it's hit or miss.
