So, we decided to refurbish and work with some of what we had for the new theme. One of the elements in the great room, was a bar. We decided to keep the original design and change the top surface. In doing so, and to keep our Mediterranean theme, we came up with the idea of copper. We had several contractors here in So. California tell us it would be difficult to do. Some even declined the work. So, we hired Riverside Sheet Metal & Contracting in Medford, MA based on the work we had seen and excellent reviews from actual clients. The owners were intricately involved and provided us with some terrific ideas based on their experience and creativity. We were a bit concerned being on the opposite side of the country, but they were professional, confident, knowledgeable and extremely responsive working with our existing contractor. The product was packaged so well and shipped as if they were right down the street! We were able to complete the work on time and within budget! We had great difficulty with customer service re: Boston Iron Group. FYI, it wasn't mentioned…read moreduring our initial estimate, but it's standard for them to complete painting touch up on site when they deliver your railing. I questioned the workers doing this as it was about to rain, but they assured me that it would be fine. We had a downpour within one hour of them painting and sure enough, the paint job suffered. I had to contact Aylton, the owner, repeatedly for 6 weeks before the painting was finally touched up. There were many weather days when painting was not an option, but the company didn't try to fulfill their promise of correcting things in a timely manner or without my constant reminding. I recommend looking elsewhere for your railing needs.

I am an acoustics guy and I was working on isolating a noisy boiler from the basement floor. I…read moreneeded to get a 1/2" plate a steel cut and then have fancy isolation spring welded to the plate. I dropped off the springs with Robin on the second/top floor. The diagram for the welding was on a piece of 2x8. We discussed what needed to be done and she took my phone number to call me when it was done or if there were any questions. Next business day at lunch, she calls and says that it will be done in an hour and I can come and get it. I went to the shop and picked up the plate. It weighs a lot and will work perfectly for my application. They through the spot welding of the feet in for free. John Santini got the plate for me with this amazing crane thing. It was so cool I took a video to show my friends. I was really impressed by how friendly, helpful and cool he was. The iron work at the place is amazing. The biggest chandelier I have ever seen is in the front atrium of the building and it is crafted out of steel rod. There are computer run machines for cutting out fancy designs. I was really excited by their BBQ trailer with two gorgeous grills for whole pig roasting. It was a great experience! The price was literally 1/3 the price of the highest bid and 1/2 the price of the middle bid.

I brought our kitchen chair to this company at the recommendation of a friend. I was not certain…read morethe chair was even salvageable. The company works with iron and one of the owners told me that the chair was aluminum however still offered to try to repair it for me. He gave me no guarantees and told me there was a 50-50 chance it could be fixed and then told me to return later in the afternoon. Never expected that, same day service, you don't find that often. When I returned not only did he fix the chair, but it was as good as new. I of course have to paint where it was soldered but you will not be able to tell where it was done. The price was extremely reasonable as well. If you have any rod iron work to be done, I would strongly consider this company. When you walk in the front door of the business and see some of their work you will see their workmanship.
