At…read morefirst, I was confused as to why this new woman was on the phone screaming on the phone and being unprofessional. It was then that I learned that her and her husband bought the salon. 2nd time I came she told me that they weren't accepting loyalty cards granted mine was already half way punched. The new owner told me, I can finish my loyalty card and pay $25 to get my hair done mind you I was paying $20 to get my hair done. The third encounter with her she's still on the phone yelling at someone, then her son is there so she's screaming even more. When it comes time to pay, she told me I have to pay $30 to get my hair done and that I can't use my loyalty card even though I have more punches left. As much as I love my beautician and have been going to her for over 15 years, I'm going to another place. This new owner is insensitive, and I'm pretty sure she's going to lose more customers. Still upset that the original owners couldn't say anything because I was so loyal to them smh. This place deserves 0 stars. Customer service went all the way down; prices went all the way up!!!

It is very close to the Borough Hall train station, close to Jay Street- Metrotech and various other buses and public forms of transport. In fact, I thought the salon was a general spa as opposed to a salon suite of different hairdressers and beauty services. I am used to this type of establishment because I had a hairstylist who worked in a similar space when I lived outside of NYC. There are various ways to enter. My hairstylist gave me a code to enter and you can either call for the stylist to get you up or you can get a QR code. The lobby to the salons are on the first floor while the actual booths are on the second floor. There are stairs and an elevator. There are multiple couches and comfy benches on the second floor so you can wait for your appointment. There are stations for coffee and tea that my stylist told me to take advantage of. There is artwork all over and the color scheme makes it not sterile but not too bright. There is a vending machine onsite but since the location is close to many eateries (chopt is next door) you don't have to worry about access. I had a great time with my stylist Lilian. She came on time. She asked me questions about my desires and goals and gave me recommendations that I can use in my free time. I look forward to using her services in the future.

She took the time to listen to my needs and concerns, and her knowledge, kindness, and gentle approach immediately put me at ease. She explained my options, carefully weighed the pros and cons of each, and helped me choose what was best for my hair. I also appreciated how organized and welcoming the salon was. My hair had been damaged from previous coloring, but Liv worked her magic and made it look beautiful, healthy, and refreshed. She also recommended products and created a routine to help get my hair back on track. I'm so grateful to have found Liv and am excited to begin my healthy hair journey with her. I booked a $250 wash, blowout, trim, and style with the owner, Dailey, expecting a premium…read moreexperience. Unfortunately, it was one of the most disappointing salon visits I've had. I came in for a simple wash and trim, yet I left feeling as though my hair was drier and more brittle than when I arrived. The haircut was uneven, and I was surprised by the trimming technique, as my hair was not sectioned in the way I would have expected for a precise and balanced cut. Beyond the service itself, I found the atmosphere to be unwelcoming. From the moment I arrived, there was very little warmth or friendliness. I did not feel particularly comfortable in the space, and the interactions felt cold and impersonal. Rather than feeling valued as a client, I often felt self-conscious and out of place. I had ever desire to walk out before my consultations and wish I had listened to my gut instinct. It would have been better to lose the $125 deposit, than to sit and endure hair damage, peculiar personalities and discomfort. One experience that stood out to me occurred while I was checking out. Several staff members were gathered at the front desk discussing a customer who had just left the salon. The customer had just paid and was ahead of me in line. The conversation centered around the customer's dissatisfaction with her service and whether she should be allowed to return. As a first-time client, hearing that discussion was uncomfortable and left a negative impression. What disappointed me most was the lack of focus on actual hair care. In my experience, the salon appears to specialize more in color services and creating the appearance of healthy hair through gloss treatments rather than maintaining the health and integrity of the hair itself. During my appointment, I even had to request additional moisture products because my hair felt dry throughout the process. For $250, I expected exceptional service, attention to detail, and a welcoming environment. Instead, I left unhappy with the condition of my hair, disappointed with the cut, and uncomfortable with the overall experience. Ironically, despite my dissatisfaction, I still tipped both the stylist and shampoo assistant because I respect people's time and effort. Looking back, however, I do not feel that the experience justified either the price or the gratuity. If you're seeking color services, your experience may be different. However, based on my visit for a wash and trim, I cannot recommend this salon. The service, atmosphere, and results did not meet the expectations that come with a premium price point. I wish I had read all of these other yelp reviews before booking as a new client. Like the other clients, I'm sure I will get blocked and banned from coming back to the salon but that's perfectly okay because you will never see me again. New clients BEWARE. Book at your own risk!! I wish I had booked with the gentleman MarQ because he seems to have a pleasant attitude but I think his hair cut/trims start at $450 which is INSANE. This place is very weird.

Sadly, she then passed me over to her coworker. My instructions were clear- in both English and Spanish. Do not touch the length, a little bit of an undercut above the ears from the temple to the ear, trim the layers and clean up the neck near the occipital bone. I showed her 3 photos from the front, side and back. It was New Year's eve and I went home in tears. I literally stopped her and got out of the chair before she was finished. I wanted a bob and I got a fade. She went at the back of my head with an electric razor and a number 2 blade. She never once used a scissor and ignored everything I said. For $35 I got a choppy, uneven mess that is impossible to style and I woke up looking like a Q-tip had an affair with a mushroom. Unfortunately on our recent visit, our stylist burned my daughter's forehead pretty badly. My daughter nearly jumped out the chair as the flat iron rested on her head. Later she was crying with ice on her head saying she wouldn't be able to school. We returned the next day to show our stylist what had happened. She smiled & said if my daughter would have told her how much it hurt she would have applied Hydrocortisone cream right away. But now it was too late. She didn't even offer any refund for the damage. Even though we had to spend more than the price of the hair on shea butter & scar cream.
