My child has attended Clon Lara for four years. This has been a very good experience. My son came…read moreto Clon Lara as a 9th grader. At the time he was experiencing a lack of motivation due to the death of a his father. He came into the school with a bit of an attitude about school. Initially, He was not motivated to apply himself. I did not understand the concept of Clon lara when I enrolled him, but after trusting my son and trusting Clon Lara, I am happy to say that he is graduating and has achieved more than I could have dreamed from his public school experience. Clon Lara is a blessing. It took more than the first year for me to truly understand the concept. Seeing the results of a balanced, motivated, confident young man who is working and ready to attend college, is what came out of this student led learning environment.

I did not get a special program, nor did other parents who were also promised the same. Some of those parents, were even asked for more tuition money once the school year started to "accommodate" their child. They nickle and dime you for every little thing and, unfortunately, you don't see the return on the money you are paying. Many updates/upkeep to the school have been through donations of time and money by parental volunteers. It appears, with low class sizes this school struggles to pay staff and maintain the building leaving no additional funds for necessary supplies and the professionals services which many of these children obviously need. The authoritarian way the school is ran ensures things are kept quiet. If you do speak up, prepare to have your child pay the price. It happens.

I used two of IHL's services--one was great, the other unbelievably, shockingly bad…read more First, I did their LSAT prep testing curriculum and was paired with an amazing, patient, engaged tutor. He was always available to text and really, really knew his stuff. Then, to get more clarity on the admissions process, I signed up for an admissions counseling session with the managing partner Mayssoun Bydon. I was shocked by how big a waste of time and money this was. It's an incredibly expensive service, at around $500 an hour. I had prepared a long list of questions and wanted to use that time as effectively as possible. Not only did she show up over 25 minutes(!) late for the session, she was remarkably unengaged and gave information that was more than unhelpful. I was shocked by her lack the lack of professionalism she exhibited for someone with such a good reputation. I asked about the character and the experience of what it would be like to go to different law schools, and she told me just to look at their rankings "and that would tell me the vast majority of what I needed to know". I asked with my scores what schools I should be applying for, and she told me University of Illinois, University of Iowa, etc. I told her this wasn't right, and that my GPA seemed lower than it actually was bc I went to an undergrad school known for its lack of grade inflation. She told me this didn't matter, and that I shouldn't bother with top schools. Well, I ended up getting accepted into schools in the T-14. If I followed her advice I would have missed a massive opportunity. Also, she asked me if I had any personal connections to any of the top schools. I told her that my great uncle had been a janitor at the Unicersity of Chicago. She insinuated that I should lie and say he was my grandfather on the application. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY
