Big dot that was not on my item when I left it.
Lynda T.

Went on March 2nd and paid to have my order shipped which I was told it would ship in 1wk I called 3 weeks later to be told she's short handed and very busy but would ship it that day. I get your busy but don't charge $15 for shipping if your to busy to ship. I received my order and very disappointed that I received it not looking how I left it painted. The texture that was left in the ears seems to have melted and ran down the ears and a big purple spot appears on the back of the ear when I never even used purple. We did have fun while there but will not return.

We definitely "Created a Memory". A really bad memory for me and my family. The staff working the register humiliated my family in front of a room full of people. We had just selected our ornaments to paint when the staff asked if we made reservations. I explained that we waited at the front to be seated when we saw the sign that's says grab your trays and find a spot to sit. After she realized that I had told my family to return the ornaments and we were leaving, she tried to justify that we can keep the table we were at as the others found another table. I explained to her that her tone and the way she had approached us was unwarranted. I asked her to look around the room as we were the only colored people in there. New customers walking in and finding tables were not treated the way we were. Since there are no zero stars allowed, they get a lousy one-star that they don't even deserve!

painting our chosen pottery

I love this place. They have a great selection of pottery to paint and they go over all the instructions when you come in. There may be a small wait. We waited 15-20 minutes but we spent that picking out our pottery. Helpful and friendly staff who are trying to help multiple people at once. I highly recommend this place for people of any age!!

I only came to Create a Memory because my girlfriend wanted to go. I took her for her birthday; I had no idea what I was going to do. I always though painting pottery was kind of girly! I WAS WAY WRONG! The proprietor Ann is friendly and very helpful. John her son is very creative and makes wonderful pieces. Dwain is Ann spouse and he is funny and can answer just about any question you might have. They are willing to help you out with anything. Enough about the staff. They have projects from $5 up to $200. There is no limit on what you can paint or how you paint it. Ann is opened minded and she won't hinder your creative process. If you can't finish your project they will keep it safe until you return. You pay for the project not the time. You can work on projects for weeks or mouths. The atmosphere is wide open with many tables to work at. They even have a computer so you can look for ideas or pictures. They have drinks available for purchase (Not alcohol). The whole place is kid friendly and wheel chair accessible. They are located below a parking structure, so you won't have a problem find a parking spot. So I said that painting pottery was just for women, well I was right. You can paint sport team logos, guns, bands. There is NO LIMITS!! Plus you bring your girl in and she will love you long time. :) Create a Memory is great for kids, families, friends, groups and parties. To top it off there is NO CLEAN UP. Just paint, pay and leave. Come back a few days later and you project is done.

You purchase the pre-made piece and they provide the paint, brushes, firing and everything else you may need. For what you get and the enjoyment, it's very affordable family fun. I wanted a bowl and a plate to personalize for myself. The art and creativity just pours out of you. It's intense and enjoyable. Watching the family intently working on their projects across the table is so satisfying. The service was off the chart! Charity, working alone, was simply amazing! With all that she was responsible for, you'd think there were three of her working at the same time. You'd normally work on your stuff there, but at the time we had to take our projects home, due to Covid. We weren't quite finished at home, but had run dry of the proper paint. We showed up at the store and they were packed with Spring break families. Charity somehow found us a small table to finish our projects. Much appreciated Charity! She was working alone and while we were there, she unfortunately had to turn away family after family, every 5 minutes. I felt an urgency to finish my work quickly, so other families would have a chance to play. I'm so happy that they are busy. This type of business needs to sustain for families and the community. I love this good stuff. We left our finished pieces there to be fired and told that we should expect to pick them up in about a week. I can't wait to eat from my personalized bowl and plate. They are microwave & dishwasher safe, so it's chow down time when they are complete. Anyway, go, go, go there! Support this unique and special place. It's fun, affordable & easy for all ages and their selection of projects are endless. Thanks again Charity, you do the service industry very proud. Your attitude is positively contagious. Keep up the great work!

The shelves were bare and there is no way to track inventory before going in. Seems like that could be easily done on their website. I was told I could order it online and have it shipped to the store. The website the lady gave me only had an option to buy 6. I obviously only needed one. She didn't seem confident in getting much inventory back. Very disappointed.

Parking was easy since we came right at opening but there are plenty of spaces in the back parking garage. I definitely recommend making a reservation online for your party. It's very easy to do on their website. Walking in we were greeted warmly by the staff and he explained the process to us. All the painting materials and form are on the table all set up and there shelves upon shelves of ceramic projects we can choose from. There were so many choices from small plates to big jugs and lots of seasonal and fun things for any occasion. The space is open, bright, and so colorful! It looked like there was a nice space in the back area for bigger parties. Our friend's daughter did a simple small plate ($25!) and my daughter painted a bigger skull plate ($33) and everything has a huge range it just depend on what you want to paint and how much money you want to spend. This is definitely about the experience and spending time doing something fun and relaxing together but I still got a little sticker shock. They also charge $6/kid and $10/adult studio fee. We felt very comfortable here and was not rushed The turnaround on the things we painted was very fast (less than a week!) The staff were so friendly and helpful and it was a great experience for the girls and they were very proud of their work! We might come back when they are a little older to make more keepsake things.

From the start, the staff didn't seem very friendly or approachable, which made things feel uncomfortable. The bigger issue, though, came with how they handled my involvement in helping my child. One of my twins is neurodivergent and needed some support with her piece, so I stepped in to assist her. I wasn't creating anything of my own--just helping her participate. At no point was I told that I would be charged a full adult studio fee for this. It wasn't until after we had already left and I checked the receipt that I realized I had been charged. That felt really unfair and honestly a bit deceptive. If that's their policy, it should be clearly explained upfront so parents can make an informed decision. Between the lack of friendliness and the surprise charge, the whole experience left a bad impression--especially on what was supposed to be a special birthday outing. I really hope they reconsider how they communicate their policies and approach families who may need a little extra support.

It rains so rarely where I live, it'd be a shame to be indoors all day. It'd be rad if they could open the roof on sunny warm days. Do I ask for too much? Imagine a really good indoor play structure. Like 3+ levels high! A small play area for tiny kids. Some video arcades and such. Some adult games like corn hole, shuffleboard table, darts, and such. A full restaurant and bar! A few cabana-type small rooms for parties or whatever. And it's not too loud!!! I was worried an indoor play area would be excruciatingly noisy, and not well ventilated. It seems like the space is big enough to suppress the kids' yelling, but not so big that the echoes impose. I guess the large space also helps keep the air from feeling stale, maybe they have added ventilation. The bathrooms are kinda small and I had to walk outside the main play area through the small lobby. The food is good, and they have a wide selection of beverages--including adult beverages! Free parking lot. The price is about what I'd expect for an indoor play structure, when we need to get out from the rain. PLUS there's all the other stuff. I guess the money I spend on food and beverage helps keep it open. I had fun cruising through the play structure with my 7yo and my 1-1/2yo. Some adults were conversing in groups, or alone engulfed in a book. If you have kids, go. If you choose to give a thumbs-up or not, I hope you found my review helpful!
