I just had an upsetting run in with a very rude employee at this establishment. Grey hair, straight…read morewith glasses. Seamed unhappy before we even started chatting. I went into pick up my art and she told me it was donated to charity. I had missed the 30 day pick up policy and when I asked why no one called she pointed to a sign on her counter (yes pointed) and said we don't call. Wow I was part of a large party who went for the first time together in December. None of us were informed of a 30 day pick up policy or told our items would be donated if we miss the window and they won't call us. She actually told me to take it up with the group organizer. When I called him he was like, I didn't know about a 30 policy. Yep! Wow again! I feel like they stole my money and my art. I was two weeks over the policy I never heard about. When she looked up my group on the computer she read, oh the lotus tile. She knew! I said where did it go? She said they donate to charities around town. What charity? She said she doesn't have to tell me. I'm thinkn I could go buy it back but she refused to even get up and look for it or tell me what happened to it. Why? Because she knew what happened her get lips were sealed. ? Maybe ? We came in at chaos Xmas. Spent many many hundreds of dollars. I've gone two other times to pick this up and they were closed. I work in Portland. I've been sick for over two weeks and my 30 days were up 15 days ago. Surely you see how much money our party spent. Why no courtesy call to let the group organizer know there was one item still at the shop. You do want return customers. What a terrible taste left in mouth. At minimum the day before you donate it, CALL! Is this even legal. If it's donated where it can be sold idk. I never signed anything saying they could sell my art? Where is it or did it break? And if a charity has it on display somewhere then let me see if they have and offer to give them a financial donation instead. I mean this is nuts. She was so rude and unfriendly. If the store manager reaches out and they can help me track this down I will donate money to the charity for sure. I'm sure they would rather have money than a tile I painted. It was my first time painting. This was about creating memories and not do I have one. I just got done telling my large party what happened to me and they can't believe it. I will take this review down if I have a good experience with the store manager when she follows up with me please! Please call me please. I don't know of any retailer that has that short of a pick up policy during the holidays especially since they were closed several days around Xmas. This is ridiculous. I paid to make art and then they took my money and my art. Nuts! So disappointing! Wendy S 503-317-8350

This was for a special birthday and it's all we wanted to do. Needless to say, we never got a call back, so we were not able to fulfill the birthday wish. The birthday girl and I am severely disappointed, sad and now angry. This is not the experience we wanted or expected. We were in the store six months ago and everyone was falling all over themselves to set up a private class. This isn't how you run a business, it's not how you treat customers, and it's certainly not how you stay in business. The business owner, Cindy, saw my review and said they do not have the staff to offer private classes. Then continued to say to check the website for a form that has info on private events. So which is it? Either you do or you don't. It doesn't matter because they've lost our business and we are now spreading the word to avoid this place because the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. We did get two call backs by the way, one guy told us we needed to talk to Priscilla (who never called us back or would come to the phone) and the other said she taught those classes but wouldn't be available the day we wanted.

It was a Saturday night, so I expected the studio to be a bit chaotic, but there is plenty of room! There were about 16 of us, and still room for other customers and families to come and go without anyone feeling as if they were in the way, or insufficient supplies. Made By You staff is super accommodating. Our group got to listen to our own playlist over the speaker system, bring our own snacks and wine, and spread out comfortably. There were plenty of supplies, and staff was very hospitable. I would recommend Made By You to anyone looking for a fun group activity. The only note I would caution for those interested, is be prepared for higher prices. There is a range of options and budget friendly pieces to paint, but larger, more practical items are a bit higher in price. Not a big deal to me considering the studio is clean, well maintained, and high quality materials. Thank you Made By You for a great night, I will be returning!

When we walked in we were greeted by Dana who was absolutely amazing at explaining the process to us. There was a ton of different items to choose from to start painting and lots of colors to choose. We had such a fun time together as a family and we cannot wait to come back again! Dana who was working was super nice, extremely kind, and patient with our young son! He made the experience that much better. I recommend 100% for a fun family time, date night, or even just alone time therapy painting.

More than slightly irritating was a situation that potters quarter could have at least contained the overly loud adults. We had a nice chill and creative time planned with the grandkids. It when we arrived it was chaos. There was a young elementary girls party going on that had food, drinks and many screaming girls. When something was funny the parents were loudest! It's like the rented the whole place for themselves to be as wild as they wanted with no courtesy for others - except for the fact that they didn't. I'm not a party pooper. I'm not a buzz kill. I'm totally glad we get back to real life and some def fun- for everyone! So let's still be polite. Let's still be aware of our surroundings. Let's respect the others in the room ! What about indoor voices ? What about "read the room"? Oh no , you couldn't do that because you were all acting like you were at a park ! When I say screams and outlandish laughs it was over the top ! Never mind I had someone with me that's slightly on the spectrum. So we are clearly more than just irritating everyone. It's completely besides that because this wasn't even just a normal delightful squeals that is usually just enough to make you smile if you delight in several children in a good mood! Yeah I said I wasn't a cranky old woman! But really ???? One, next time rent out the whole place. Two, if you can't then know that others are also trying to have fun too. Three, why would you purposely be that Karen? And Karen's kids that will turn into the Karen because Karen don't k ow any better to do better. Sad.

Parking was easy since we came right at opening but there are plenty of spaces in the back parking garage. I definitely recommend making a reservation online for your party. It's very easy to do on their website. Walking in we were greeted warmly by the staff and he explained the process to us. All the painting materials and form are on the table all set up and there shelves upon shelves of ceramic projects we can choose from. There were so many choices from small plates to big jugs and lots of seasonal and fun things for any occasion. The space is open, bright, and so colorful! It looked like there was a nice space in the back area for bigger parties. Our friend's daughter did a simple small plate ($25!) and my daughter painted a bigger skull plate ($33) and everything has a huge range it just depend on what you want to paint and how much money you want to spend. This is definitely about the experience and spending time doing something fun and relaxing together but I still got a little sticker shock. They also charge $6/kid and $10/adult studio fee. We felt very comfortable here and was not rushed The turnaround on the things we painted was very fast (less than a week!) The staff were so friendly and helpful and it was a great experience for the girls and they were very proud of their work! We might come back when they are a little older to make more keepsake things.

From the start, the staff didn't seem very friendly or approachable, which made things feel uncomfortable. The bigger issue, though, came with how they handled my involvement in helping my child. One of my twins is neurodivergent and needed some support with her piece, so I stepped in to assist her. I wasn't creating anything of my own--just helping her participate. At no point was I told that I would be charged a full adult studio fee for this. It wasn't until after we had already left and I checked the receipt that I realized I had been charged. That felt really unfair and honestly a bit deceptive. If that's their policy, it should be clearly explained upfront so parents can make an informed decision. Between the lack of friendliness and the surprise charge, the whole experience left a bad impression--especially on what was supposed to be a special birthday outing. I really hope they reconsider how they communicate their policies and approach families who may need a little extra support.
