I didn't know they had a second location until I was searching for a dessert place while eating dinner at Rock n Brews. I was happy to find this spot because it was close by! Lots of cute stores around here too and very walkable. It looks like their selections are the same in both locations. Their hokey pokey is a solid choice and my favorite thing to get here. The ice cream is creamy and smooth, and it is perfectly complemented with their crunchy sweet topping. Service was quick and professional. You can definitely chill here and socialize if you wanted. There's plenty of space for kids to hang out as well. You can buy pints of their ice cream including merch here. Definitely coming back. read more

This was right next to the airport and was a nice post dinner treat after visiting Playa del Rey. Their NZ style froyo was more custard like, so a thick consistency as opposed to what you find out of a McDonald's or soft serve. Never knew about the nsfw name search. Learn something new everyday. I stopped here on a whim with some friends after having dinner nearby. Quickly, I decided to try out what seemed to be a popular choice on their menu: a sundae consisting of soft serve covered in crushed honeycomb. My order was prepared on the spot and came out very quick. At some tables inside, my friends and I enjoyed our ice cream. Very delicious! Not too sweet and was a perfect treat to end the day. My first time trying this place after always seeing the long line hanging out the door. First, let me say my "Hokey Pokey" cup was excellent. It's not the product that has me making this poor review; It's the fact that they had ONE poor girl making this very labor-intensive ice cream! She has to push down a lever to swirl the ice cream with the fruit for each order AND THEN go take the next order!!! I mean I felt so bad for her that I almost wanted to get out of line and help her. I apologized to her saying "I'm sorry you don't have any help in here" she said it's ok - it's just that more people keep coming" with a look of exhaustion!! I'm assuming that our coffee ice cream was atypical or there would not be so many good reviews. It was like eating a snow cone (crushed ice) mixed with some melting coffee ice cream. It was not creamy at all, just crunchy little chunks of ice. We were disappointed as it was nothing like our favorite New Zealand ice cream. The store is clean and adorable. Getting their ice cream truck at our office backyard and it's warm sunny day so perfect timing! Plenty of flavors to choose from, which was basically different mix-ins blended with the vanilla soft serve base. They did offer chocolate one. I went for the Hokey Pokey as I loved honeycomb and simply couldn't resist that crunchy toppings! The order's ready in a blink and there were several attendants serving at the same time so despite all of us tried to be there at similar time, we got our ice cream quickly! New Zealand style soft serve located in the downtown El Segundo area. It has friendly service and a laid-back beach city vibe. I didn't know that there was a New Zealand style soft serve until recently, and to be honest I'm not sure if I fully still know, but it may have something to do with the way fresh fruit is folded into the ice cream I believe. I have been wanting to come here for a while. I happened to be in the area and went for it! The Hokey Pokey is the classic flavor for NZ, but I really wanted the banana. Love creamy boys. And usually all their flavors. But we had two orders of the seasonal flavor, coffee, and boy was it a major disappointment. There were chunks of ice all throughout and they said it was frozen ice with espresso. It tasted more like just ice balls. The chunks really are not representative of "creamy" and ruined the experience for us. The one star is simply for the disappointing flavor. We both had to dump it. If I was trying creamy boys for the first time, I honestly would not go back. It's the umpteenth time we have been and our first thumbs down. Thankfully, that flavor is going away soon. read more

Creamy Boys definitely caught my attention as I was driving through El Segundo -- the bold font and that very... adult-ish name (lol) made me curious enough to pull over. I'm glad I did, because the place is genuinely good. Their New Zealand-style soft serve is silky, creamy, and different in the best way. They've got two locations in El Segundo and one in Hermosa Beach, and the shop itself has a simple, clean, comfortable vibe. Matthew was running the front on his own when we visited, and he delivered amazing service. Friendly, welcoming, and he took the time to explain the theme behind Creamy Boys and how the ice cream is made. He gave great recommendations too -- I don't like overly sweet ice cream, so I went with the Mixed Berry, and it hit perfectly. My sister, who has a real sweet tooth, got the honeycomb ice cream with caramel drizzle and toffee and was smiling from ear to ear. What meant the most, though, was a moment I didn't even see happen. My niece has a fractured fibula from taekwondo and is currently on crutches. After I went to get the car for her, she came out beaming, telling me that Matthew had approached her to ask how she was doing and what happened to her leg. That small moment of compassion stayed with her -- and with me. We need more places where hospitality feels human, genuine, and heartfelt like that. Prices are fair (a regular was $8 and packed), the ice cream is delicious, and the service is the kind that wins loyalty. I even grabbed one of their shirts with the skeleton graphic -- can't wait to wear it on my hikes. Thank you, Matthew, for the kindness and the smile. You've definitely earned some loyal fans here. What can I say? I'm in a New Zealand state of mind! Murphy the Doodle and I stopped in El Segundo today for some pizza and to try Creamy Boys. I'm so glad that we did! I love this creamy New Zealand ice cream with fruit mix ins and the honeycomb topping. I had the Fresh Banana and, of course, the honeycomb topping and both of us agreed that this was outstanding ice cream. The banana vibe was real! Wooowww I LOVE the Hokey Pokey ice cream !! The creaminess was perfect and the toffee infusion into the vanilla + on top was just an amazing combination. One of the best ice creams I've had, and I'll definitely come back again :) The service was lovely, and they really packed in the ice cream. All of my friends also really liked eating it! I do have a sweet tooth, so for someone who does not, they have other flavors that might be more to your liking. I wish they do two flavors in one cup, but I understand why they couldn't do that. I'll be back and hopefully I'll try more flavors, but I think I'll still end up craving the Hokey Pokey flavor :) The interior was cute and it was very nice to eat ice cream in store. Honestly, this place is really good. I've been here a few times now, including the Hermosa Beach location, and the quality has always been solid. My only complaint is that the serving sizes seem pretty inconsistent. From reviews and videos I've seen, some people get huge portions, while the times I've gone, the servings have felt mediocre. Maybe I'm being a little greedy, but it's something worth noting--especially when the largest size is around $8 before you get into the pint options. Overall, I'd still come back, but I wish the portion sizes were a little more consistent. read more

My husband and I came here for dessert on a Sunday night in April. Street parking is plentiful and easy to find nearby. The store is spacious and has some seats and tables inside. There were a few people ahead of us when we came in, but they ordered quickly so we didn't have to wait long. Creamy Boys is a New Zealand ice cream place. Their style of ice cream is known for blending ice cream with real fruit. We'd previously been to their Hermosa Beach location and quite liked it, so we were both happy that they opened up a location closer to home. We got the hokey pokey flavor and shared this between us. It was my first time trying this place and it did not disappoint! I got the Hokey Pokey and it was so yummy. Just like the name of the store, the ice cream was super creamy and the toffee honeycomb sprinkled on top was so good! When I went, they were sold out of everything except vanilla and Hokey Pokey but I definitely want to go back and try all their other flavors! Sheesh the Vegan Hokey Pokémon is so good! The interior of this place is a little spare and thrown together. Still, it has a nice feel to it, and the quality was there. Service was fine and quick. I like their claw machine! Would definitely come back to try the other vegan flavors. They also had a 15% off Mon-Thurs discount if you eat at slice and pint next door first. I'd like to see them host events here or be involved with the community. Seems like they would but ai haven't seen it yet. read more

While I've been here a few times this is my first formal review. I came with my family one Sunday evening on a hot July day, bypassing several chains on the way, including the new(er) Salt and Straw across the street. The inside is packed to the brim with sweets, small toys, and people, much like a candy shop of old. After reaching the front of the winding line our family shared a Banana Split ($13) - three scoops of ice cream, a split banana, hot fudge, a single dry topping (we chose coconut), whipped cream, and a trio of cherries - about as classic as it comes. The ice cream was good but not exceptional. The chocolate and strawberry were fairly generic, but I liked the third scoop of banana foster ice cream which had a nice banana kick. I doubt this ice cream is home made. The complements and construction to the sundae were great, however, and the flavors came together well. As I would hope for a location like this, the staff are local youths who served with patience and passion. In cases throughout the store are several of their other specialties - ice cream cookie sandwiches, dipped frozen bananas, and more - inviting repeat visits. Prices are elevated but not crazy for such a trendy area, although I would say with the middling quality of the ice cream a couple dollars less would be fine. Overall, Manhattan Beach Creamery is a local landmark worth at least a single visit for anyone in the area. And their scoops aren't tiny -- they are the full, overflowing scoop of ice cream. The staff is helpful and friendly. You can try some flavors before you decide what you want to get. Today, the inside was decorated for the World Cup 2026 fans, and there definitely were some global visitors, judging by the languages I overheard in the line while waiting for my turn.

I ended up opting for a split scoop of La Brea Tarpits and Cold Brew Crunch. It was such a great combo! I am a chocolate girly so I naturally gravitated towards the chocolate brownie flavor and I am always happy to add coffee flavor to that. I actually really appreciated the serving size for a split scoop as it was a good serving for a person of one! The one thing I noticed was that the La Brea Tarpits flavor was a bit icy and had an ever so slight taste of freezer burn. Overall, I enjoyed my sweet treat from here :)

The staff is very friendly and super helpful. We had a large group come in, and they were so patient with us! The gelato tastes so good! Everyone in our group loved it and their flavors. You get a waffle cone wafer with your gelato, which is a nice touch. Definitely recommend stopping in. Not often you find a good gelato spot - you won't regret coming here!

I think, great since my elderly Dad is diabetic and shouldn't have a lot of ice cream, so I went with that but in a waffle cone, she said that would be $3.50. I said that's fine, I will have one in flavor A and the other one in flavor B, total came to $7.35 And I asked her to put the ice cream cone in a cup, so it would be easier for him to eat in the car as it was extremely hot that day, and I don't want it to drip all over the car. When she gave me the ice cream, it was both flavor in one cone. I told her I wanted 2 separate cone instead of all in one. And then she said it would be another $7, I was in a hurry, so didn't really put too much thoughts into it, and just charge it. So now I look at my charges, so it turns out the same serving, one is at $7.35 and the other is $7. When I get the ice cream, I asked her, so there nothing that is smaller than this. She said there is, but not in a waffle cone, it will be extra with a waffle cone. So I asked $2.50 in a regular cone and additional $3.50 for the waffle cone? She said yes!! I am still confused as to whether they have a smaller serving than small and how much it is. I check on the pricing people posted here and don't see a $2.50/$3.50 smaller size showing. It remains a mystery to me, and I really wanted to know as it will be a hot summer, both my elderly parents, who are diabetic, would probably asked for ice cream, and I really don't want them to have a small each on their own, since it is still a decent size and they don't like the same flavor, so they can't really share a small one.

We ordered 4 ice creams, and it came out to around $30, which was totally worth it because the portions are generous. The person taking our order was incredibly kind and welcoming. They took the time to explain all of the vegan options and gave us some great recommendations, which I really appreciated. My kids absolutely loved the strawberry ice cream, and my husband and I went with the vegan Hokey Pokey... OMG, it was SO delicious! We had just come from the beach, so we didn't get a chance to explore the area, but I love that it's so close to the Hermosa Beach Pier. Next time we're definitely making it an ice cream date so I can actually remember to take pictures! We'll 100% be back. Highly recommend!

The food looked just as good as it tasted. The smoked salmon and avocado toast was fresh and perfectly balanced, the spinach breakfast wrap was light but filling, and the yogurt bowl with fresh berries made a great addition to the meal. The coffee was excellent, and the iced matcha was refreshing on a warm day. The atmosphere is bright, relaxed, and perfect for a slow breakfast or brunch near the beach. Even with a full house, the staff stayed organized and never made us feel rushed. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Manhattan Beach.

It does look fairly new based on the inside of the store. I was looking on Yelp for high rated breakfast burritos near me and this is how I stumbled across Phannys. I arrived 30 minutes before they closed and the guy at the front was welcoming when I first walked in. I did notice he was the only employee but it was no worries since I was the only one in the place. I got the breakfast burrito with one protein, I got bacon. They are reasonably priced at $12-$15, depending on the protein you choose. I saw the guy make it fresh for me right after taking my order. Took around 7-8 mins to be done. My boyfriend and I ate our burritos outside at one of the benches. They were HOT, right off the grill. The tortilla is really great, nice and soft however, a nice grill on the outside would have been nice. They are good solid burritos but nothing particularly special. I wish the hash browns were a bit crispier and the house salsa had more pizazz to it. But it was regular ol' salsa. My boyfriend really liked their saying "in burritos we trust" and their little logo of the burrito. They had shirts for sale and we asked about it. My boyfriend would have definitely bought one if they had one in his size but they were sold out :( I would come back to Phannys if I'm in the area looking for a good burrito and for the shirt. (My way of saying pls restock) But I would not go out of my way to get it.

Pleasantly surprised when my husband made the connection. The 2 guys working easily answered my questions about Stone Cold. He does pop in once every three months and they reported he is a nice guy. With that said, this place has a cute little outdoor area. My husband said their beer was good. I tried their seltzer but the one flavor wasn't for me. Nice place in a cute area. Would visit again but they need some food.
