    Walnut and limón/lime
    Hugo S.

Honestly guys what's not to like. The ice cream is good, and the paletas are good. For people talking about the stronger flavor of ice cream, keep in mind this is inspired by Oaxaca. The owner is from Oaxaca so for example the chocolate is more of a richer flavor. Matter of fact it tasted like a brownie with small chips. But the flavors are there. And dare I say just as good as any michoacana location. The service was quick and immediate. They recommended pairings for their ice creams. They also told my wife that they would advise adding the limón/lime flavor ice cream on top of the walnut ice cream as it's softer. I mean the attention to detail by the staff is unparalleled because they take a lot of pride in their product. There's ample seating inside and quiet during the week. Not sure how busy and noisy they may get during weekends or busy hours so keep that in mind if you don't like noise lol... they also have parking behind the building and overflow city parking in the middle of the street and side street parking. So parking shouldn't be an issue. It's better than having to pay for parking like Inglewood and Hawthorne. So if you're in the area stop and try them out you won't be disappointed.

    Nasty tasted rancid

ordered a piña colada milkshake, and unfortunately it tasted old and almost rancid. I wasn't sure if the ingredients had gone bad, but I couldn't finish it because the flavor was so off. I've noticed that their smoothies and milkshakes are very inconsistent--sometimes they're good, and other times they're disappointing. Based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend them.

Was excited to finally try Mateos and it was so yummy. Me and my friend enjoyed treats with way better prices than Michoacanas. Service was great and the location was clean with beautiful decorations.

Nuez Two scoops is legit like one scoop

Very skimpy servings I got the two scoops and they legit gave me like a one scoop serving the one in Culver City is way better and they give good servings very disappointed this one was closer to home but I rather driver further for better quality!

It's so good that I have to resist taking home a pint because I know I'd finish the whole thing. The service is always fast, and everyone working here is incredibly friendly. The shop is on the smaller side, but it has a great vibe. You'll see lots of families hanging out and enjoying ice cream together, which makes it feel really welcoming. If you're in the area, don't skip this place. It's absolutely worth the stop.

Line moves fast, though. Mr. Universe: 10/10. Omggg soooooo good. This is one of the best flavors I've ever had anywhere. Malted cookies n cream: 9.5/10. So close to being the best flavor but definitely the second best. Hokey pokey: 8/10. Really solid flavor but still really good. Parfait: 7/10. I had high hopes but was a bit disappointed. The matcha ice cream was good, but by the time I got to the vanilla at the bottom, it was all melted. The rice balls were really good though I normally don't care for rice balls. There was matcha jelly but there were maybe only four pieces but I would have liked more. The whipped cream did nothing to add to the parfait - it's just a basic whipped cream out of a can from what I can tell. The red bean is too sweet. I would have loved to try peach but didn't since I wanted to try all these first. No samples, FYI. You can get it in a cup or cone, but cones are an extra charge. Parking is in a small lot with lots of other great places. Note that they're closed Sundays.

While I've been here a few times this is my first formal review. I came with my family one Sunday evening on a hot July day, bypassing several chains on the way, including the new(er) Salt and Straw across the street. The inside is packed to the brim with sweets, small toys, and people, much like a candy shop of old. After reaching the front of the winding line our family shared a Banana Split ($13) - three scoops of ice cream, a split banana, hot fudge, a single dry topping (we chose coconut), whipped cream, and a trio of cherries - about as classic as it comes. The ice cream was good but not exceptional. The chocolate and strawberry were fairly generic, but I liked the third scoop of banana foster ice cream which had a nice banana kick. I doubt this ice cream is home made. The complements and construction to the sundae were great, however, and the flavors came together well. As I would hope for a location like this, the staff are local youths who served with patience and passion. In cases throughout the store are several of their other specialties - ice cream cookie sandwiches, dipped frozen bananas, and more - inviting repeat visits. Prices are elevated but not crazy for such a trendy area, although I would say with the middling quality of the ice cream a couple dollars less would be fine. Overall, Manhattan Beach Creamery is a local landmark worth at least a single visit for anyone in the area. If you can get past the generic, if a little boring, ice cream flavor and rampant commodification of the interior, you'll find a classic ice cream parlor with great service and history. Is it worth a repeat visit? I leave that to you. Food: 4/5 Service: 4.5/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Value: 4/5

You can see the actual bird of strawberries in the ice cream scoop. And their scoops aren't tiny -- they are the full, overflowing scoop of ice cream. The staff is helpful and friendly. Today, the inside was decorated for the World Cup 2026 fans, and there definitely were some global visitors, judging by the languages I overheard in the line while waiting for my turn.

The place has this classic ice cream shop feel with pastel aesthetics mixed into a modern clean vibe which mixes practicality with style. I LOVE the glass panel decoration and the front decor which are simple details yet convenient decoration. The options have an interesting range in diversity, from ice cream and drinks. Their combinations are so unique, blending trendy flavors like matcha, honey, and many more delicious flavors. My favorite flavor I have tried so far, was the Dalgona Affogato--which I picked because I was thinking of the squid games. The dessert was so smooth but the honey was slightly overbearing. If that is not to your preference, they have other options that can certainly fit to your taste buds. The ice cream is perfectly sweet and an excellent treat in this summer weather. The honey crisps placed on top of the ice were so little, which I wished they had a bit more since it tasted so good with the smooth ice cream. Another thing I hoped was for the affogato to be a bit bigger portion. But then again, I am unsure about the sizings of affogato since this is my first time trying it. Thank you Honeymee Gardena for the experiance, hoping to try more in the future. (Update: Making this edit because I accidentally spelled the cafe name wrong in my previous review which I apologize for. The typo was made because when I was writing the review, I was also very busy so I wrote everything in a hurry and wasn't able to make changes. And yes, this update took so long to be made because when I write reviews, especially in this case, I often do different reviews all at once.)
