Noticed on the video screen said they are part of Five Star, no one mentioned it or asked for. Checking in to rack up points. This store is run absolutely terribly. The customer service is severely lacking, the lobby is constantly dirty with sticky tables, there's always something that they're out of. I have been here a number of times because my 5-year-old loves to watch the nitrogen ice cream being made, so I come here for him. However, the last 3 times I went in, they had "closed early due to selling out." The manager was specifically rude. Additionally, all of the employees seem very young and immature, as if the establishment is run by high school students. When Im being charged 30 dollars for two ice creams, I expect much better than half melted product in a dirty establishment, being served by angry, under qualified workers. Super nice experience on a Tuesday evening. Our first time in. The girl who took our order was sweet but Tyler was hands down one of the nicest humans! Was super good with kids and made sure they experienced the whole making of the ice cream. Great idea to be able to choose from dairy or vegan base and a great flavor selection. I had the speculoos overload signature creation which is basically cookie butter ice cream, marshmallows, biscoff cookies and whipped cream. I loved the taste of the cookie butter! Oh yum! This is a really unique ice cream place where you could get your favourite ingredients whipped up into an ice cream using nitrogen right in front of you! It looks to me like similar ingredients are all listed right there on the regular menu! Came here an hour before closing on a Tuesday night (they close at 10pm Monday - Thursdays) and ended up ordering a DIY regular (a size up from kids) and went with the organic ice cream base option. They have vegan options which is awesome. I chose matcha ice cream and three sides: strawberries, bananas, and Nutella. They use liquid nitrogen to prepare your ice cream and toppings so it can be fun to watch. I felt the matcha tasted very powder-like vs a creamy texture which brought the score down. There weren't many strawberries and banana bits as my toppings either :( it was also on the pricer end of $10.94 for my one order. Wait there's more; then they hand someone my Pumpkin ice cream...he leaves with it and then 3 minutes later returns with it, his hands all over the ice cream and whip cream running down his hand.. he says sorry, this wasn't mine I don't like pumpkin!!!! And slides it in front of me.... as though I am going to eat it after he returned it to me!! 10 more minutes for a replacement!! Seriously, you can't make this up!! Fun to watch? Is this place just a fad? Yes on both parts. Is it the best ice cream I ever had not even close. It's a lot of bells and whistles for quite a bit of money, the flavors can be a lot of fun to make and is actually very entertaining. That's the reason why I give it four stars instead of three. Yummy! My girls enjoyed their treat today while the sun was beaming. It was fun watching them make the ice cream and I really loved watching my girls enjoy the show. So I had heard from a couple of close friends that this was an excellent ice cream spot to have ice cream made with nitrogen ... so while out driving looking for a spot to eat BOOM!... there it is!.... so of course I made a 'U-ie' I. They had lines and a packed little spot but I'm sure it was just full of people like me wanting to see the technique ... The ambience- could quite see the decor because of how small and how little room there was to move around. Everyone stands at the glass waiting to see something happen and sadly all you see is a couple of kitchen aid like mixers with a fixed pipe that drops the nitro and u don't even see much else ... the nitro puts off a gas like most that clouds over the window and seeps out from the under side of the glass window ... yup that's it So it was pretty much that can't see the Forrest for the trees deal The Staff- they seemed impatient and not to friendly ... I meant at Cold Stone at least you get a welcome when you enter before you get hit with the prices ... which brings me to the slap in the face.... When I tell you I had maybe one half of an Oreo and one tiny brownie and maybe ten chocolate chips (if that)... and the only really topping I could taste was the almond pieces ... I'm talking disappointment beyond reason ... u can tell from the photo that there is a serious lack in my cup of ice cream from other photos shared The fact that I paid well over $15 for this cup of ice cream for it to taste nothing like coffee and more like cream and then not be able to taste all the toppings I added accept the few chocolate chips and the almonds ... folks go to cold stone you will get the same experience except you'll be able to see the ice cream being made to tell them 'hey I need some more Oreos and brownie added in there ' You'll get the same cup sizes And you will definitely not have to pay as much as you would here ... We've been here before, and decided to try it again. We got there, and they are not practicing social distancing! The shop is small and there were about 50 people there, and 3 employees. We ordered and our order for 2 was $19, before tip (which seems a little outrageous). We waited 20+ minutes for our ice cream. Mine was only 2/3 full and came with hot fudge, and crumbled cookies. It wasn't like the picture. It had about 1 crumbled cookie in it, and a squirt of hot fudge. The rest was just mint ice cream with nothing. Not what you expect from a $10 ice cream, that's for sure. Love this place! This is our second time to this location. They have a lot of different options such as organic, premium, dairy free (coconut). A lot of different toppings and flavors. You are able to put the toppings inside or mixed in. Previously, I've ordered coffee ice cream with Oreos. This time, I ordered the kids size premium base chocolate ice cream with gummy bears and my brother got a regular size dairy free taro ice cream with gummy bears. I tried my brother's ice cream and I'm not a fan of coconut but this didn't taste like coconut at all so I definitely will try the dairy free base next time. The process of making the ice cream is cool and kids are amazed as if it was a show. They have long lines but it's worth the wait. The ice cream is very creamy. We went there last night and a guy that worked there greeted us and was very friendly. He was very friendly with the other customers too and very helpful. Not sure of his name but kind of tall and wore glasses. I assumed that he was the manager. But you can tell he loves what he does and in watching him making the ice cream, he seemed so passionate in his work. There was another guy there who originally took our order and then as we were waiting, I saw that he transferred into putting the ice cream in it's containers. There was a lineup throughout the building, out the front door & a few people back. It took us about 25-30 minutes to order & get said ice cream.
